Not a typical hotel”

It's not a typical hotel as in it's owned by the local military command base. It doesn't offer room service (cleaning, etc) unless asked. The room I was in felt so tired and smelled stale. The whole 10 days I was there I think I was probably the only non-military person staying in the hotel. One night there was a group of military people setting up tables just outside my room to surf internet, chat amongst themselves and smoke endlessly. They were so loud and cigarette smoke wafted into my room, which I really hate. This went on til 3am and I barely had any sleep that night. In a normal hotel things like this are just not found but this is not your normal hotel. The only thing that I like staying there is the location since it's about 50m away from the Tsunami Museum and right across the street from the Blang Padang park, where I went running on most days.

Room was spartan, staff was friendly”

The good: The staff spoke very little English, but they were all very friendly and helpful. I usually don't care about the television, but in a town with surprisingly little to offer, it was a welcome diversion. It was within easy walking distance of the Tsunami Museum. It had wifi with good reception. They brought a good Indonesian breakfast -- an egg, rice and sambal on a banana leaf. The bad: The room was rife with mosquitoes and no mosquito nets were provided, the air conditioner worked poorly, the bathroom was sub-par -- even by southeast Asia standards, the beds were very old and slouched in the middle, the room was cleaned poorly and I found other people's hair all over.

it was a good stay coz the hotel is nearby to a few tourist attraction and very calm from town hanky panky

Comfortable military home/hotel”

It was ok. I was the only hotel guest - the rest of the rooms are lived in by men in the military, so I'm not sure if you can really call it a hotel? There is no restaurant so I asked where I could eat dinner and some of the men took me to a food place and we ate together which was really kind! The room is shabby and to the bathroom but fine. The hotel is right by the tsunami museum and a small drive to the grand mosque. The guys in reception cannot speak much English. Breakfast is a knock on the door at 7am with a takeaway Indonesian breakfast and cup of tea to eat in your room. The hotel gave me a free lift on motorbike to the harbour which was really kind!!

Comfortable and basic”

Comfortable, basic. Staff did not know that I had prepaid through Agoda so it took a while to check-out and convince them. Overall convenient as central but close to Port to Pulau Weh, where I was headed. Hotel operated and managed by the Indonesian army, I later found out. Rooms are huge which is great, but also means air-con is pretty much useless.

The staff was very helpful. I asked for a pair of slippers and an adaptor for my mobile's charger. Within few minutes the assistant was very quick in supplying me with those items.

Great location, adequate room”

My stay was quite satisfactory. The best thing about the hotel is its location, a few minutes walk from the Tsunami Museum, the Dutch Cemetery, the Gunangon, and the Baiturrahman Mosque, and not much further to the National Museum. The room was shabby, but clean. The bathroom had a squat toilet and a large tub of water with a dipper. There was no shower or hand basin. Breakfast consisted of white sliced bread (or toast), margarine, jam and coffee. I sent my arrival details by SMS and they picked me up at the airport.

Fue demasiado justo. No habia lavabo, solo mandi y WC . Estaba bastante sucio y muy desgastado. No habian demasiadas opciones en elegir habitaciones. Muy ruidoso . Da a una calle con mucha circulación . Es estanque de la foto no existe. Como favorable: está muy cerca de la mezquita , que es una maravilla.

Es un hotel muy sucio, poco cuidado, nada en absoluto que ver con sus descripciones, no tiene la categoria minima para que ustedes lo aconsejen

Notre chambre était juste à coté de la reception, une fenetre au dessus de la porte donnait sur celle ci, pas de rideau pour l'occulter donc de la lumière dans notre chambre toute la nuit. Deplus le receptionniste regardait la tv, nous l'entendions aussi durant la nuit, vive les boules quies! Le receptionniste de nuit ne parlait pas anglais, donc pas possible d'avoir des enseignements. A 7h30, un serveur est venu frapper à la porte pour nous servir notre pt dej (adieu la grasse matinée), un petit sac avec des nouilles et un café! Mis a part cela la chambre était propre et le lit confortable.

에어컨이 약해 오후에는 지내기 어려울 정도다. 침대 외는 편히 앉아 있을 만한 가구도 없다. 직원은 친절했지만 다음날 옮길 수 밖에 없었다.
