Exceptional”
I would like to inform you that this booking that you made for me to the wild coast sun was totally disappointing. I was requested to pay an additional amount. I have paid you in full for which you have sent me a confirmation of full payment. I have sent this confirmation to the wild coast sun. I was told that you used a different company to make this booking on your behalf. I am very disappointed and hold you responsible for the extra amount to be paid to the wild coast sun. Please treat this as urgent I await your reply. Mrs S Nurbadh

Exceptional”
The wild coast sun is always busy so there is a need for more porters. Checking out - there was a waiting list for availability of porters. Preference should be given to elderly folks to assist with their luggage. My husband is hardly able to walk(an outing was good for him) but I carried all the luggage.

Amazing Stay At Wild Coast Sun”
Our stay at the Wild Coast Sun was amazing. We enjoyed the closeness of the different amenities. The short drives to other sight seeing sites are a bonus.

Dear Edwin , I'm glad that you went Wild in a island -style paradise and enjoyed yourself . Looking forward to welcome you into our unspoiled beach fun. Regards Wild Coast Sun Team
Water park closed”
I booked my accommodation 6 months in advance. Staff lied to me on 2 separate occasions when the wild waves water park was open. I had to change my original date after 3 weeks of fighting with Agoda and the resort. Wild Coast confirmed the new dates when the water park will be open. When my family gets there, they changed the maintenance dates without advising us. Shocking service by reservation staff

Wild coast”
We had an awesome stay. Things that definitely need to improve at Wild Coast: 1. Need a proper food court with KFC, Nando's, Fish aways, etc (Current food court is too small and limited). 2. Opening and closing times of Wild waves need to change. (currently at 9am to 5pm) Your check in times are 2pm and check out at 10am, which means that if your are staying at the hotel for one night, you have very limited time to go to Wild waves. Suggested times should be 7am to 5pm. 3. Access to Wild Waves for hotel residents should be free. Currently if you stay at the hotel you have to still pay R25 per person for a tag to get into Wild waves. 4. The hotel doesnt offer an iron and ironing board. This is something that should be offered as people come to the hotel with suitcases where their clothes will be creased. This is an essential for the rooms. What the hotel does, is force you to send your clothes to laundry to get it pressed and you have to pay for it. 5. Bottle water should be provided in every room. 6. Number of tokens for each game in the entertainment centre seem to be increasing frequently. Now, to try to catch a teddy bear in a machine, it costs R6. Please reconsider these prices for the kids. 7. Lastly the prices of rooms per night are seriously overstated. In a family room, hotel policy says max 2 adults and 2 children. The rooms are big enough to accommodate 4 adults. This should be allowed.

Fun, rain or sun”
Booking in was well organised, just disappointed that even though I sent e-mail and contacted property my children were not added to the booking., however it was dealt with and breakfasts were booked to the room. Waterpark is amazing loved it, even grandparents were up to having a ride on the slides. Although we had bad weather the kids were well entertained with excursions to mac banana with adventure zipline and put put. At the hotel the games are plenty. Children are safe and can enjoy some freedom. Restaurants were well runned, only item I felt was very expensive were drinks (soft drinks) especially at chico restaurant however juice, tea and coffee is available at breakfast at no charge. Manghwanani Spa was a huge disappointment I will not book again I feel there are better service and prices of the property.

not as good as it used to be”
we had stayed at the wild coast sun many years ago and found it excellent. we were very disappointed this time. The food was poor. We had a dinner in the commodore restaurant. our friends had oxtail- inedible, lamb curry - full of bones and my husband and i had line fish which was overcooked and dry. we also had dinner at Chico's which was slightly better but still not what one would expect from a 4* hotel.(for example i would have expected some nuts with a stir fry) the toilet at the commodore restaurant was not very clean. We had a drink in the lagoon bar before dinner and the only dry white wine by the glass was a chardonnay. my husband had asked for a sauvignon blanc but was not informed that they only served chardonnay by the glass. all in all a disappointing experience.

Wild Coast Sun no longer star rated”
It was disappointing to find out that Wild Coast Sun no longer has stars as rated by the SA Tourism board. It is now clear why. The buildings require serious renovations throughout (inside and out). Our room was not ready on arrival. Later when occupying the room the TV was out of order. The phone was also not working and as a result wifi was not working. To add to the embarrassment they ran out of coffee and could not furnish our room with two sachets of coffee. When phoning the GM to inquire about all these issues his/her PA informed us that they indeed could not offer us sachets of coffee as staff members for some reason did not order from suppliers. A hotel at R1000 plus per night and no coffee? Some staff members were very friendly and efficient while other just could not be bothered specially in the dining hall during breakfast. Overall disappointing. Will rather spend my money at San Lameer Hotel.

Wild coast sun”
This hotel is special..only complaint I have is that the whole hotel needs a total revamp. Beds are old and super hard and creeky. Bathrooms , rooms basically everything needs a fresh new look. After this I will be back definitely. I've been coming to Wild Coast Sun for 30 years ....thats why I know how old everything is.

Dear Josette , Your constructive feedback is noted however , you must have missed a lot of changes that have been done in the hotel side. Regards Wild Coast Sun Team
Lovely stay”
Beautiful secluded beach. Perfect for morning walks. Hot weather even when overcast. Nice waterpark for kids. Different options for breakfast. Good base to explore surrounding beaches and sites. No room service though was a drawback. Overall a good stay.

Christine Mid 60's South Africa”
Generally a very pleasant stay and I will go back with my family and Grand kids in summer. Breakfast were great , Service was great, Housekeeping great. My only reservations were with the Chico's Buffet - Underwhelming. The roast and the pork belly were overdone and the selection of cooked veg very limited to a butternut and some conglomeration could have been Ratatouille . In general lacking in any inspiration. For the rest we enjoyed ourselves and will go again.

Comfortable and entertaining ”
From check in, the experience has been on point. Staff were well prepared for my arrival. Helpful and accommodating. There was so much to do with my son. The water park was out of this world. Beautiful pools. The Chicos restaurant was a surprise. Delicious and value for money. Most importantly, I felt protected from covid by the hotel and staff

Outstanding Service Rendered by Wild Coast Sun”
My stay was fabulous, the customer service rendered by Penny at reception was extremely professional, warm and welcoming. The place was extremely neat and very attractive. Cleaning staff and potters literally dazzled me. I was also impressed with the shuttle service. The hospitality and reception was outstanding and worthy of any accolade of the highest order. Well done and keep it up!

Small break away ”
Even though ques at reception take over 20 minutes for check in. We had no issues and given what we had asked for when making the booking. Rooms were clean. My son was disappointed though as the water waves park was closed. Luckily the beach is walking distance so that kept him entertained. Breakfast was fine. Normal buffet. Nothing spectacular. Although Sunday morning was a rush with people checking out so it was waiting over 15 minutes to get in and then looking ourselves for a vacant table as no one assisted to available tables . Check out process was fine, we asked for late check out so was given 11am. But all in all our 2 days there was relaxing.

Very good”
Check in is really disappointing. I stood 2 hours in a queue after my long trip just to check in to the hotel. When we got to the room, the telephone was not working. Towels were short. I had to physically walk down to reception once again to report these faults. Therefore, check in at 3 ended as check in at 6. Also, booking online with Agoda, should be exactly as you book in. If you are given a sea facing room or family room with specified items then you should not once again have to ask/beg for these items on check in at a Hotel.

Very good”
Would have liked a bit friendlier staff at reception and especially the bar in the casino. I noted a few times that I greeted and the gesture was not returned. Housekeeping staff were very friendly. It was my husband's 40th birthday and I enquired of special arrangements that I could make on my booking request...i was told at reception (in front of my husband!) that i could arrange a cake...it would have been nice to have been a bit more discreet as it was meant to be a surprise. Overall though, a good stay.

For this price you could get much better”
Our stay at the hotel was awful. Checking in to the hotel was a disaster. The reception desk was quite unfriendly, inept & failed to prepare for everyone's check in. We stood in the queue for just over 1 hour. Only 3 reception staff was available because the others decided to take a late lunch. Also, some of the staff kept checking their facebook accounts on their mobile phones. The hotel room was quite bad because they the air conditioning was broken. We logged 3 calls to have it repaired but because they forgot to log the call to have it repaired. I had to search for the hotel manager who eventually gave us another room after 3 days of begging to have the air-con repaired or for a room change. The hotel is not suitable for couples with babies under 18 months. They claimed they had baby sanitizers and bottle warmers but during check in they said they didn’t. A number of people complained about this. The food choices were poor. Every restaurant closed at 9PM and room service on average takes between 60 minutes to 90 minutes to deliver food because they have limited staff. The wild water park is in poor condition. Rides were closed on the day of entry. When booking the hotel on Agoda it states that you will receive free entry however what this means is you will receive a reduced cost entry. Apparently the Wild Coast Hotel didn't notify Agoda about this. Checking out of the hotel was another issue because they attempted to charge us for our entire hotel stay stating that Agoda forgot to send them proof of payment. We had to wait another 30 minutes for the reception staff to follow up with Agoda. This happened to every person who made online bookings regardless of which site was used to book their stay. Unless you're an avid gambler or have a desire to stay at shady hotels then I would rather suggest staying at an alternative hotel or one of the luxury lodges around the South Coast.
