our stay in waterfront cebu city hotel and casino was overall great!!! however just want to share this for future reference that i hope would not happen again on my agoda booking.prior to our departure, i received an email last Feb 15, 2014 from a certain, ms Alena an Agoda Customer Support Specialist stating that our booking with this hotel was confirmed but the hotel had a problem with there system thus indicating that they fully booked on the date that we are supposed to stay. it also stated that the hotel is offering to relocate us to waterfront airport hotel instead and that they will give a suite room w/o any additional charges and that they will pick us up from the airport to the hotel (w/c is just few steps away from the airport). I replied back the reason i choose waterfront in metro cebu is because of its location. it is situated in metro cebu and near tourist spots and establishments. i also said that i will agree with the transfer if the hotel will provide shuttle service. I received an email reply on feb 16, 2014 from a certain Serene an agoda customer support specialist stating that the hotel could not extend a complimentary shuttle service for us but instead could arrange a shuttle service for a fee ww/c will cost us Php675. i replied again to show how disappointed i am, and also stated that the error on their system would cause difficulty or hard time for us. i also stated that we will proceed as per advised by your agoda specialist to proceed first to the original hotel hoping in good faith that we would have a room. On the date of our arrival, we manage to get a room for us. I discuss this matter to the staff of waterfront cebu city hotel and stated that the situation is not true and that the booking was ok and we really have a room the moment our booking was confirmed. as mentioned, i just want to share this experience and the wishing it would not happen again to my future transaction with your good office. sincerely yours, rommel romero

"Grand and majestic with the best attractions"”

Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino is by far one of the best hotels in Cebu, and perhaps even in the Philippines. The rooms are quite spacious and classy. It is fully carpeted and the bed is huge and very comfortable. But the best asset of the hotel is the entertainment readily available to the hotel guests. To top it all, the hotel houses one of the best casinos in the country. The hotel also has a duty free shop where guests can buy items for less than in ordinary stores. Another good asset of the hotel is the buffet breakfast they offer where a guest could choose from among a wide variety of food and beverages. All in all, I highly recommend staying at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Great hotel and friendly staff”

This has been my 9th stay at the waterfront casino, and it has my vote for being oustanding in all the right areas. When you arrive you are greeted and helped immediately by the bell captains, the doorgirls, concierge and reception staff. Every time you see them, they give you a smile and greeting, always. The rooms are comfortable, and kept spotless. The casino/hotel is constantly being cleaned, and the staff are hard working and pleasant. The food, from buffet breakfasts to the many restaurants within the hotel is excellent and very reasonably priced. Our routine is to start at the Tref Bar for cocktails, their Happy Hour is from 5 to 9 pm, where all drinks are half priced, around $2.50 Australian. From there we can eat either Japanese, Chinese or Italian cuisine, and their chefs are world class. If you wish they will bring your meals to the bar or your drinks to the restaurant. After your drinks and meals for two people will be about $25.00 The Gym is open 24 hours, and is comprehensive, with weights, cardio, classes, and boxing ring with trainers. The pool area is beautiful and well supervised. The location is excellent, with only a short taxi ride to the major shopping centres. The rooms at the casino are even numbered at the front and odds at the rear overlooking the swimming pool. Try to avoid the rooms in the high (say 25 to 35)numbers as this is over the external air con plants, which can hum loudly for light sleepers. I travel to Cebu 3 or 4 times a year and always stay at the Waterfront Casino Lahug.

Lovely hotel and its the best”

Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino is a very nice hotel. I will certainly recommend it to everybody. We have stayed in this hotel so many times. We stayed at the Ambassadors suite and thats free drinks all day long and they have a pre- dinner drinks and food. The staff at the Ambassadors lounge are fantastic so friendly and they will do anything to serve you. The rooms are so nice and we got the chance to see the Presidential suite and the Nile suite. It is so nice its really worth your stay and its very close to Ayala Shopping mall. The food in UNO restaurant was fantastic. The casino is a bonus my husband love it there. I will recommend this hotel to anybody. I will give it 10 out of 10. If you need some pictures about the hotel and rooms I can email you some.

I wish I could have stayed longer because there was a boxing title fight at the hotel the weekend we left! My friend and I, vacationed around the Philippines for three weeks. The Waterfront Cebu City Hotel was one of the nicest hotels we stayed at. The breakfast buffet was delicious, there's a Duty-free shop in the hotel, the pool is nice and free access to the fully equipped gym (with a boxing ring). The hotel is walking distance to the IT park area and there are many banks, restaurants, and bars in the area. The staff is very friendly and the girl at the check-in counter was cute. The rooms were spacious enough for two people and the view was great. I didn't spend much time in the casino, but there was a good selection of table games and slot machines. There was some construction going on, which means the hotel is expanding and getting better. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Hotel”

Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino is a very nice hotel with spacious rooms, with a touch of class. The service is very good, the food is great, nice buffet setting. This is a place where you can enjoy inside and out anytime. The pool, the gym, the restaurant or in the evening, you can listen to the music and just relax with your friends, etc. Overall, whether you are on business or tourist, you have good value for money, except for the casino which I think needs updating to overseas standard, perhaps in the future as it will be one of big attractions for tourists who like to gamble. I recommend, when in Cebu City its the place to stay.

My partner and myself stayed at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino for a total of 10 days with a short break in between ... we were supposed to go to Ormoc but that is another story. The Waterfront hotel and Casino will definately be my first choice when i am back in Cebu, at first i was a bit apprehensive due to some previous reviews i had read but i have to say i was pleasantly surprised in every respect. The Buffet breakfast is all any body from anywhere could ever want ranging from salads thru to rice , fish and onto full western style breakfast ... similary the choice of restaurants in the Hotel is exceptional, our favourite turned out to be the Japanese restaurant ... however we also frequented the Chinese, Italian and western style eateries as well. The hotel staff from the front counter thru to the general staff were a delight to talk to and on several occasions just nice to have an informal chat with after a long day. We had two different rooms over our stay both were clean and tidy and had all the mod cons. As i said we will be back the Waterfront Hotel and Casino is great !

As a frequent business traveler to Cebu City for the past 10 years, I would highly recommend the hotel for both the leisure and business traveler. For the most part the hotel staff are very friendly and attentive to the guests needs. The food preparation and taste is above average with the hotel serving a very good breakfast buffet each morning in Cafe Uno. The hotel has free wifi acess throughout the hotel which is unusual for most Philippine hotels which charge the guest for the service. If you are arriving at Mactan International Airport I would recommend contacting the Waterfront guest services staff in the arrival lobby and telling them you want a normal airport car to the hotel. The charge is approximately 295 pesos ($6.00) for the 30 minute drive to the hotel.There is no need to take a more expensive hotel lemo which is much more expensive. The Waterfront Hotel is equal in service and cheaper in price than the other major brand named hotels such as the Cebu City Marriott, Hilton Mactan Island or Shangri-la Mactan Island Resort

A Mother's Day Gift”

early this year i decided to bring my mom to cebu to celebrate her 65th birthday. i had a hard time of picking the right hotel because i was torn between the new radisson blu and the established waterfront cebu city hotel. . i am glad of this decision! i stayed for 3 days and 2 nights arriving earlier than the expected check-in time. the receptionist was very accommodating and professional. we had a pleasant surprise that our room is ready (though it’s a tuesday so probably there are many rooms available) so we were able to check-in even before lunch. upon entering the room, my mom was delighted to see the beautiful view of the lush green of nivel hills. the room is a superior room with a queen sized bed. though the room is not as luxurious (the tv is an old set and not yet an lcd one), it was still very big and comfortable. available in the room is a very reliable wi-fi service! breakfast was truly something my mom and i were looking forward to. uno restaurant at the lobby serves a buffet of international dishes where there is something for everyone thought i was a bit disappointed with the congee because it was like rice just drenched in water. but generally my mom enjoyed almost everything making her stay for 3 hours just eating breakfast! what i really like about staying at the waterfront is its very central location. you can just go practically everywhere around the city as taxis are also readily available outside the lobby door (even at 5 am!). you can also work to nearby the walk at the asiatown it park for more dining choices.

Waterfront cebu and casino standard room is worth the price to pay for offered by agoda, i was suprised the price i paid during the time of booking was latter ugraded to delux room which caught my suprise. This 5 star hotel offer 4 different types of food from different countries and the price is reasonable. The quality of the seafoodf is fresh too. The weather in cebu was veryhot during summer time (march 2010) but the air-conditioning in the lobby as well as the room was perfectly cool, The securities at the entrance and also at the front lobby is strict, providing a good sense of security for territorisim. The 24 hours casino features a good entertaiment table game and also stage show.The counter sfaff are very friendly and assistance in room service is very fast and prompt

We enjoyed our stay in Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. We were immediately ushered into our room upon arrival after our city tour.Then we had our dinner at The Port, a buffet restaurant within the compund of the hotel. This hotel has this great bed that follows the contour of your body, a perfect respite for our tired bodies. The breakfast buffet spread was also huge. The only problem we encountered was the long line and slow process of check-out. We had to endure 45 minutes for this.

the waterfront hotel & casino is without a doubt the best hotel in cebu - rooms are spacious and well-kept, the facilities are lovely, and the service is impeccable. the waterfront hotel & casino. location was convenient, as it was near almost all the good eating places in cebu. also no problem hailing a metered cab, as the hotel staff does that for you at no extra charge. the room is spacious and well-maintained - housekeeping staff very warm and pleasant. breakfast buffet is undoubtedly unrivaled in cebu! recommend booking with agoda for complimentary internet access and guaranteed late checkout.

Great Hotel”

A grand hotel located in Cebu City. It is a 15 min walk or max $2 taxi fare to the huge Ayuna shopping mall or a short distance to other shopping centres by taxi, traffic congestion can be a problem time wise though. You can organize tours around Cebu city or go to any of the neighboring islands (we recommend any of them) at their tour desk. The staff are very friendly and obliging. We had an Ambassador room on the 18 floor, so nice views of the city . The Ambassador club is worth paying the extra for for their happy hour 5 to 7pm nightly where you can have some nice nibbles and drinks to relax after a day of site seeing. Rooms are very clean and well serviced including complimentary bottled water. A nice large swimming pool to swim in and of course a large in house Casino if you want to donate some money to the cause. The buffet breakfast is extensive with all tastes catered for, we didn't get a chance to utilize their dinner buffet but from what we saw from the outside you wouldn't be disappointed. We also used their airport pickup service both ways @ 800 pesos per trip, very clean cars and reliable personal service. Strongly recommend this hotel it has everything.

The hotel has several excellent restaurants with the Uno Cafe being the top. The food service is great and the buffets are priced right. Some rooms come with the buffet breakfast which is a good way to start the day. The breakfast buffet has many selections for both the Western and Asian guests. As a business traveler who has stayed at this hotel many times in the past ten years, I would place it high on your list.

Waterfront hotel and casino-Lahug Cebu city is a nice place to stay, Since it is located at the heart of cebu whereby near to food centrs, Malls like ayala centre, and SM shopping centre. During night time,if you love KAraoke they also have within the premesis. Sea food restaurant also have at the basement area. For Some people also who loves casino. Well welcome to Pagcor where you can enjoy card and some jackpot games. Otherwise the hotel is good.Thjey offer free sauna also for their hotel customers. Nice experience to quote. On discharge day, they can discharge you ASAP per request. They can allow you to stay until 1pm even though the discharge time is @ 12Noon. They will help take cab in cases like us foreigners who are going airport on d/c dates.

better than i had expected ”

First of this is not a waterfront hotel rather waterfront is the brand. I knew that before i booked so i just make you aware its in the city. I was really happy with this hotel and it was much better than i had expected. Very good rooms clean, big room , good shower ,fast internet and best breakfast i have eaten in a while. Check in was fast and the hotel itself is quite big and we did not get to go to the casino but im sure its grand. I thought the hotel itself reminded me of a palace and should be 5 star. I would recommend staying here if your in cebu.

Never Disappointing”

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past 10 years and have never been disappointed. The hotel is well maintained and the lobby is beautiful. At night they have soft live music in the lobby. The rooms are large and in the basement you will find one of the best gyms in Cebu City that is free to hotel guests. The Uno restaurant is great for breakfast with every type of food available from Chinese, Korean, American and Asian. I would definitely recommend adding the breakfast to the room if you are a big breakfast eater. It is well worth the money. In the same area as Uno you will find a Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and drinking bar, which are all excellent. Enjoy your trip to Cebu City and your stay at the Waterfront Lahug.

In the Grand Style”

I spent a week on vacation at the Waterfront and thoroughly enjoyed myself. During that time I entertained some local friends and they were also impressed. It is a huge complex that has been around for a while, which is to say some parts of the room were a little worn, but in general the place was well maintained. I enjoyed the pool. They have complementary beach towels so you don't need to bring one from your room. The staff was super attentive and helpful. I ate at four of the dining options and was only disappointed by the one in the casino because, even though it was non-smoking, there was nothing to stop the smoke from the casino from getting into that area. I could smell the smoke on my clothes after I left. The room was well appointed but you had to be careful. It came with two small bottles of complementary water, but there was well-stocked mini refrigerator and snack trays that were extra cost. There was no issue with putting things I bought elsewhere in the refrigerator. I used room service a couple of times and the prices seemed comparable to the restaurants. There is a 10% service charge added to your bill whether you use the restaurants or room service and the staff doesn't expect any additional tip. It is also very easy to sign for your meals. All of the food I had there was very good. Each of the theme restaurants were fairly authentic and had menu items at many price points so you don't have to go broke eating there. They have a French bakery and coffee bar that has some really great pastries for under $2 USD that I enjoyed several times for breakfast. The location of the hotel is up the hill from the downtown area but that means you have to take a taxi almost anywhere you need to go. Most of the downtown locations could be reached for little over $2 USD without tip. The hotel also stored my bags for free while I went to the mall one last time before leaving on a later flight.

actually i didn't know about the waterfront hotel. my plan was about cebu city tour. i just thought it was not bad price and location. but after a few days i realized that was perfect location as a landmark, and really not expensive for their service. i visited several cities in philippines. frankly the hotels in cebu are much more expensive than other cities. but waterfront will be nice choice for you if your plan isn't staying resort but city tour.
