Unexpectedly fantastic”

For 20 years I have stayed 50+ nights a year in hotels in various parts of the world; mostly Europe and North and South America. I had used 4 or 5 star beach resorts on Mactan Island on 3 prior visits to Cebu. They were good hotels but had no soul. The staff were robotic - by rote answers to questions and, if something unusual was asked, the human equivalent of a computer page being unavailable. So I asked myself what I was looking for from a Cebu hotel. The answer was comfort, safety, a decent swimming pool and good transport links. The Waterfront Airport is what it says it is; a 3 star airport hotel where most customers will stay overnight after arriving or prior to departure from Mactan-Cebu Airport. However it is much more than that. I stayed in a Deluxe suite. This was actually three good sized rooms: a bedroom with double bed, TV and plenty of storage; a bathroom which had a bath with a flexible shower fitting and a separate shower room with a fixed shower; and, a lounge with TV, two seater sofa and 2 chairs, table, TV, mini-bar, two large windows giving views of the city and interior on one side and of the airport on the other, and more storage. Each room had a phone and air conditioning operating down to 18C. It made a quiet background hum causing no disturbance. Rooms are sound-proofed but planes can be seen and just about heard in the lobby area. The swimming pool is 28x12 yards and 3-4 feet deep throughout with a small area which is very shallow and suitable for young children. Complimentary towels are provided and there is a good quality gym adjacent to it. At weekend from 7-11pm a pianist and singer perform in the lobby lounge. Marina Mall is an 8 Peso jeepney ride or ten minute walk away. The hotel, although 3 star, provided terrific value for money, has staff who go out of their way to be helpful and I would recommend it to anyone looking for quality at a competitive price and a good base from which to explore Cebu, city and island.

After obligatory customs clearances upon our arrival at Mactan Air Terminal, My 11 yr old daughter & I were whisked away by free shuttle bus,to our overnight accommodation at Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino Mactan. To imply we were rendered speechless by the cleanliness, quality & professional friendly service by hotel staff after our long flights from Australia, to Hong Kong, then on to Cebu is an understatement. Everything about Waterfront Airport H & C is absolutely brilliant!! Opulent high quality furnishing everywhere you look, complementary refreshing "cold" drinks upon check in, escorted to our room soon after to find our luggage had preceded us was icing on the cake. All of this for a very reasonable room rate - (breakfast included); need I mention it was spacious? Check it out for yourself, you won't ever be sorry. So impressed, we guested there again the day/night before our departure for Down Under.

The Waterfront Hotel/Casino Mactan is the best!”

I have stayed at the Waterfront Airport on all of my over 30 visits to Cebu City, and so I always check in there on the night before I fly out of Cebu back to Australia, because the Airport is just across the road from the hotel, so I check in early to avoid the large line up of passengers on the following day. On the night that I stay at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino, I check in, then I hit the gym for an hour workout, after this I go in the beautiful swimming pool outside for a nice swim, then I go to my room for a shower, and after this I go down stairs to the lovely restaurant to have some dinner, then I go to the casino for a while and have a few drinks, then after this I go upstairs to the entertainment lounge to watch a nice floor show done by the girls, and just before I go back to my room for the night, I go to the coffee shop for some really nice cake and a wonderful coffee. Actually, and this has been my routine on every trip to Cebu, because I like to stay at the Waterfront Hotel/Casino Mactan on the night before I fly out of Cebu, so I have a real great night in this wonderful and exciting Hotel/Casino, so please go and check it out, ok!

waterfront stay”

This review is based on my entire 12 nights stay in cebu with three different hotels: budget (2 star), middle range (3 star) and waterfront. I can say that my stay in waterfront is value for money just like my other hotel stay. All of the hotels has very friendly staff, professional and accommodating. But of course, waterfront has the quality equivalent to western standard like Australia where I came from. I can say, that for the money, the same money would only get me a three star hotel in Australia. The quality of the hotel rooms, lobby, and other hotel space is one of the best. I would recommend it specially on the way home because of its location (walking distance to airport even with one luggage to roll). Another good feature of the hotel is its security which is second to none. Proximity to Gaisano Mactan is also one of the best feature. You get everything, casino, fine dining, shops and airport in one convenient location plus a first class accommodation.

Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino Mactan 8.0+”

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino Mactan. We were quite impressed with the cleanliness and how everyone was very helpful. We will definitely stay again at this hotel next time we visit Cebu. We're hoping that the hotel will provide a shuttle ride to Cebu City, at least at the Ayala Mall, like the other resorts in Mactan does. It would be even better if smoking is not allowed in the casino. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable and memorable.

Stay at the hotel. ”

This was our family holiday in July 2018. We would like to rate this hotel as excellent. First of all,they have upgraded us from a superior room to an ambassador suite. Thank you Waterfront. Secondly, the location of our hotel is very near to the airport. Which was convenient for us to travel from Cebu to Davao thefollowing day. Thirdly, the room was very clean and have met our standards. Fourthly, the breakfast buffet was excellent. And most of all, all the staffs were very pleasant,very professional and very nice . These staffs were the ff: meet and greet from Cebu airport, the driver from the airport going to the hotel,bell boy, reception desks,in the restaurant,the waiters ,the chef and the driver sending us back to the airport the following day. We would like also to specially thank the chef who cooked the food of my little boy because of his severe food allergies. To Waterfront hotel in Mactan Airport,keep up the good work!

Very good value airport hotel”

Very good value for money hotel. It is spacious with a large lobby and restaurant . The evening buffet is excellent value for money unlike the Shangri-la Tides restaurant where I also recently stayed. The Tides is three times the price, very crowded and less attentive staff. The Waterfront has a huge choice of international foods as does the breakfast buffet. The pool is large and there are good fitness facilities. It is about forty minutes from Cebu Centre and the traffic is very bad in Cebu. Sometimes Mactan Bridge is closed or congested and I have nearly missed lane on two occasions. So now I usually stay at Waterfront Airport Hotel especially on my final of stay in Cebu to be sure to catch the plane. Highly recommended.

Great hotel with lots of amenities”

this is a great hotel with a great food, very pleasant staff, clean rooms, big swimming pool, and an exercise rooms! prices are reasonable for this up-scale hotel. i would highly recommend the water front hotel - mactan island - to travelers. and, even though i do not gamble, they do have a modest size casino. this hotel is also very conveniently located just two minutes from the international airport. however, the hotel is 15 to 30 minutes taxi ride from various sectors of the city of cebu - so if you have plans to visit a shopping mall or two - be prepared for some "traffic time". this hotel is also only a five to ten minute drive from marine dock sites from which you can arrange a scuba diving trip to numerous dive sites with certified dive instructors and guides.

Excellent Room and outstanding breakfast buffet”

We decided to book a room in Cebu because we arrived late on our return from the US. I was never able to book the Waterfront in Mactan but when I looked it up it was available for our return stop. The porter from the airport said it was within walking distance to the hotel. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and front desk personnel were also accommodating. We received our key card and were off to the room. The room was exceptionally nice with a view of the airport runways and the view of Cebu City skyline. The air conditioner in the room really works good the temperature was 20.1C when we arrived. I turned it down to 26C and went to get something to eat. The fish and chips were good and the wife had an enormous order of fried chicken. We woke up and had the buffet breakfast in the restaurant. There was so much to choose from and all looked delicious. The coffee was some of the best I have had. I drank 3 cups. I asked what the name of the coffee was but the waiter didn’t know. All in all a wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone!!!!

Best place to stay before your flight out of Cebu!”

i choose to stay at the waterfront airport hotel & casino on the night before i fly out of cebu in the philippines, and i always have the best time there. i go to the gym, then i have a swim in the pool, and after all this i endulge in the fantastic food there in the restaurant. after dinner i go for a walk into the casino, and i might play a few games, then i go upstairs to the entertainment club, and i enjoy to watch the floor show with all the beautiful girls. so after this i go and have some coffee and cake in the coffee shop, then i head off for a great night's sleep in my really comfortable bed in the room. in the morning i wake up, go and have a refreshing swim in the pool, then i go and have the buffet breakfast which is really quite amazing. after this, i pack my bags, check out of the hotel, and i head for the airport which is just a walk across the road, and i go wait for my flight out of cebu, but i always leave with all of the best memories of my trip there to cebu!

Great Hotel”

Nice hotel attached to the airport. In the middle of everything but due to traffic, it takes a long time to get to Cebu City. Staff is super friendly and helpful, and rooms were typical hotel rooms - very clean. They had larger rooms/villas for more money. Pool was nice - they needed a bar co-located with pool. Small gym next to the pool area. I was disappointed in the food - great selection but was not great tasting compared to the niceness of the hotel. Nothing to do near the hotel - must take a taxi to other areas, too far to walk...and hard to walk with heavy traffic and little space. I did not experience the casino but it looked nice. Don't be fooled...not many beaches in Cebu/Mactan. Hotel offers money exchange service which was convenient.

My first Cebu trip”

First trip to Cebu and Waterfront Airport Hotel made my visit worthwhile. Upon check-in, you will be greeted by very accommodating staff. The smile from their faces take away the exhaustion from the travel. The room is luxurious. Nice comfy bed. Good-sized and very clean bathroom. Clean carpet. The gym is well equipped. I had a good workout. The pool was also great to do my laps for my cardio exercise. The buffets were very satisfying. Wide food selection. Fresh. Yummy. Good value for money. Will definitely book at this hotel on my next visit to Mactan.

Fabulous view I can actually see the plane coming in and leaving out of the runway. Taxi cab is so efficient very handy. This is my second time staying at waterfront airport mactan hotel and this time we stayed for 21days I also made a booking for my sister at the same time and she was in room 500 my daughter in room 627 and my cousin in room508 so I feel good that I made some recomendation for your hotel. I will tell all my friends here in Australia and other side of the world to stay in waterfront airport mactan.

Luxurious hotel and good service...”

we stayed for 2 days at waterfront in mactan. the hotel is just a couple of strides from mactan airport but we walk at the basement since it was the most accessible area at that time (me and my girlfriend bringing heavy luggage). we were permitted to past to a certain spa center which has a passageway to the hotel. we were guided by an officer (i bet waterfront official) and by a bellboy and have our check-in at last (exactly 12 noon). also, i recommend a good quality service since i was able to claim my lost jeans when we visit the hotel the following week. but we have to wait for over an hour again. but nevertheless, the if i rate the hotel from (1-10, 10 as excellent), i'll give 9... thank you...

Perfect accomodation near Mactan Airport”

We stay in Cebu city for 2 days during our Philippines Tour. We were adviced to pay attention at hotel and its location. So after some internet research we choose Waterfront. What a perfect choice. Nice staff, very friendly and accomodating, nice rooms and services, perfect breakfast (they offer even Egg Benedict). it is just in front of Mactan Intl Airport, but you need anycase to take a taxi to visit downtown. The unique remark is the Beauty Center (locate under the Hotel) that is indipendent and propose very high prices for the service and quality granted.

Geat Place”

This hotel is truly convenience. It is just across the street from the Mactan Airport, a huge plus. Being this close, it allowed you access to the metered taxis at the airport. No need to haggle the taxi fare; they have to go by the meter. The hotel staff were very curteous, very friendly and helpful. This feels like a 5 start hotel.. The bathrooms were so huge!! I loved that most. However, it seemed the water did not get hot enough. When taking a bath, don't turn on the cold water, just the hot water; the hot water is only luke warm. If you have to spend a night before your flight and would like to be near the airport, I recommend to stay in this hotel. Other than the price and hot water, you won't regret it at all. The swimming pool is a great place to also while away your time, if you like solitude, there wasn't that many people at the pool, the place was really very relaxing. Breakfast was the best. Fresh fruits, different assortment and pastries, different types of fruit juices, and coffee, fresh vegetables all your all-american type breakfast was also available. You can even order an omelette with what you want in it and they delivered it to your table.. I loved staying in this hotel!! This is where I will be staying whenever I have to fly out of Cebu from now on.

A great very convenient hotel”

Exrtemely convenient to Cebu-Mactan international airport: you can walk from airport exit/taxi stand directly to hotel. The hotel room I stayed in was comfortable, spacious and clean. It has a nice restaurant and bar in the lobby area and, if you want, there is entertainment (casino & a KTV bar) and a health spa. I could find no faults with this hotel. All this at a very reasonable price.

Still my best choice”

I have been coming home more than usual, and because of flight schedule to my province, I had to stay a night in Cebu every time. I’ve scouted other hotels and tried them too, but I can never replace the comfort and convenience in Waterfront Airport Mactan! The shuttle service from and to the airport is so hustle- free, the staff are very courteous and accommodating! The lobby changes every season I felt I’m in a different warm ambience each time! I got to know the hotel and actually it has become my travel buddy, always there for me...

pluses, great location if you are flying or seeing mactan island/nice casino with live entertainment (we paid for our trip with our winnings but of course this might not happen for you)/really well managed hotel overall/very nice pool could use improvement in food service. korean restaurant on the premises is poorly attended. we ate there once and really did not like it. the hotel restaurant is much better but not perfect. the expensive buffet was good in some areas (salads and desserts) but not so good in other parts (lechon buffet) our alacarte orders were all good and room service is a way we would go next time

Exceptional”

This was my second time staying at the Waterfront Mactan. Both times have been excellent! The rooms are a great value for the money, I actually walked across the street from the Airport's International terminal to the Hotel entrance! I would especially like to applaud Kirk and Carl who work in the lobby restaurant! These two gentlemen are the two best for service and at working to make the best of your stay of anyone I ever met in my many years of travel across the world! Anytime I travel to Cebu will include staying at the Waterfront Macdtan!
