Great stay in Wanaka!”

We stayed at Wanaka Hotel for 2 night with a 7 months old baby. The location of the hotel is perfect, within a short stroll from the lakefront and all the shops and restaurants around. There's a little supermarket just across the street and a bigger one a couple of minutes drive away. We stayed in one of the lake facing rooms and we love our view! Our room had clearly been renovated recently and it had all the amenities one could hope for. However the hotel itself is a bit dated and it shows, for example in the fact that there's no lift available. Kitchen and laundry are available to guests and there are a couple of restaurants and a cafè within the hotel. The staff at check in was super helpful! Would love to stay here again.

Loved our stay here at the Wanaka Hotel although it was just a night stay. The room was clean and cozy and I could step out of our room to an amazing view of Wanaka town. Everything was just within our walking distance and we decided to take a cool, breezy stroll along the main street. Parking is convenient as well. Not exactly the cheapest place but it was well worth it. :)

Good value, no frills”

The Wanaka Hotel was perfectly situated close to all of the towns attractions (lake, shops, restaurants). Our room was very clean and well-equipped, with a heater, TV and balcony, as well as a decent bathroom. Our only real complaints are of the pillows/bed and the noise. As the hotel houses many guests and is in an older building, it's extremely loud and not at all soundproof. Not only were the walls thin, but we could clearly hear the people above us. Despite this, the hotel is perfectly adequate and well worth the price if you're looking for a mid-range, 3 star stay.

Convenient, comfortable and clean”

Wanaka hotel is conveniently situated in the center of town. Walking distance to lake, restaurants, shops,etc. A great holiday atmosphere. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We will definitely recommend this to family and friends

We overnighted here whilst travelling the South Island. Wanaka is a wonderful town to visit. There is a plethora of restaurants and shops to visit. The hotel was convenient to walking into town, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our only complaint would be that the WiFi is a little inconsistent and weak.

Central Location in Wanaka. Unfortunately, there is no air conditioning provided during the stay. However the weather was good to cool the room. Good for a night stay in Wanaka.

relaxing one night stay -clean town-great scenery”

We stayed here for one night. Great little town with great scenery around Lake Wanaka. our accommodation was clean and well equipped and the bar and restaurant served magic steaks - one of the best steak meals we had whilst in New Zealand. I would stay here again - the location is a great tourist attraction.

This place is so underrated!”

Absolutely awesome hotel, cute garden view, very clean and comfy rooms and perfect for getting around Wanaka. No complaints whatsoever!

Decent accommodation ”

Wanaka Hotel is a place to stay if you are looking for a simple room and not spending too much time in the hotel. location - walking distance to restaurants, wanaka tree etc Facilities - they have a central kitchen for hotel guests to use although it has an unpleasant smell. they also have a central laundry room for guests to use with a small fee.

Comfortable and cosy room, and the property is only a short walk from the street with the restaurants and food. It is also a short walk from Lake Wanaka. Free parking available on site for guests.

Good Location”

The Wanaka Hotel locates at City Centre, nearby Lake Wanaka. Due to bridge collapsing between Fox Glacier and Franz Josef, we need to rearrange itinerary and decided to extend our stay at the hotel. The staff is very communicative and helpful.

Superb location”

Check in was efficient and quick. Room was spacious and clean, with adjoining bathroom with a shower/bath. 1 double bed and bunk beds in the room. They have a kitchen with great facilities that you can use to make a coffee or cook yourself some lunch/dinner. The hotel also has washing machine/drying facilities available. Only a 2 minute walk to the stunning Lake Wanaka, and many restaurants and bars.

this hotel its quite in the middle of the wanaka small town. its really nice and the staff are friendly.would definitely recommend to others and will definitely comeback if i visit wanaka again.

Christmas eve”

Stayed one night in December and found the hotel check in - out process easy. Staff were friendly (even though working Christmas). Accommodation generally older but the room was comfortable, clean and had suitable facilities. Free parking behind the hotel was good. The hotel was very well located near the main street and with easy access to Lake Wanaka

Can classified as high end hostel with private rooms. No staircase but is OK as only 2 floors. Walking distance to erik fish n chips (opposite) & the wanaka lake
