A perfect place to stay in Hoi An”
After researching a number of places to stay in Hoi An, I ultimately chose the Vinh Hung Riverside. I was a bit nervous at first, as locally owned hotels can be hit or miss. But I'm pleased to say that this one was definitely a "hit"! The rooms are traditional yet comfortable. The pool was a refreshing retreat in the afternoon after a morning spent walking through the old town or riding bikes to the beach. The location is just a short walk to the old town. The breakfast is standard buffet, with the usual selection of western and local foods, plus an egg and noodle station. But the great rating is on account of the "extras", such as the very friendly and helpful staff (I was always greeted with a smile and "good morning" from the staff), the daily "Country market" where local foods are on offer gratis, plus the boat from the resort to the old town. Great wifi too. The resort really offers tremendous value for money! Why not a five-star review? The resort doesn't pretend to be such, which would require an infinity pool, pillow menu, the latest tempurpedic mattresses and 660 count bed linens -- all at commensurate rates. The Hoi An area offers plenty of such establishments for those so inclined. If you're looking for nice place with a staff eager to please and great value for very affordable rates, the Vinh Hung Riverside is the place.

Perfect little resort in a great location.”
We stayed for 4 nights at the Vinh Hung Riverside and had a great time! We opted for a Deluxe River View room and glad we did. It was large and airy (high ceilings), had a small patio with private loungers, views of the well-kept and tropical gardens and, of course, the river. Staff were great - all very welcoming and pleasant. At breakfast (pretty decent buffet with good choices including and Egg and Noodle station) when one of the staff had seen me open the pancake tray and there were non there she went and got me some cooked fresh - just nice thoughtful touches throughout. The location is excellent - just around the corner from a small night market and all the action - you are close to all the restaurants and shops but a short taxi or bike ride from the closest beach. They have a small boat at the hotel which takes you to the town also - we only used it on the evening for the hour sunset cruise which was good for photo opps of Hoi An. Small negative point was our room (710) was in the centre of a block of 4 and had a conjoined room with 2 other guests in (not related). While this is great for a family of 4 we could hear EVERYTHING the couple next door said and did - including an alarm going off and them waking very early (I guess for a trip) and groaning their way through the process. They weren't loud but the gap through the door just carried the noise through. Also we were on the right side of the hotel and this is close to where the river taxi's take the locals up and down and the chug chug engines are quite loud and start early - I'm a decent sleeper so not too much issue for me but could be for a light sleeper. A LOVELY touch was the afternoon (4-5pm I think) food market they did each day where you can sample (for free) small Vietnamese dishes - a perfect way to try new food and also a lovely pre-dinner treat! I'd recommend the Vinh Hung Riverside to anyone going to Hoi An who'd like to be close to all the action. A lovely stay at a very good price.

Best hotel choice during 3-week trip in Vietnam”
I booked 8 rooms at Vinh Hung Riverside Resort for Dec 30 and 31, 2012 for our multi-family party of ~20 persons. Below is a summary of my experience: • Good location; on small, quiet street a short distance away from the old town • Riverfront and has excellent view of the river • Staff provided freshly squeezed juices while we waited for check in process • Front desk staff and management very accommodating and customer focused. Nothing pleased everyone in our traveling party during our Vietnam trip… except this resort. It pleased even the most critical person in our party. This was the best hotel stay and a highlight of our 3-week Vietnam trip. I highly recommend Vinh Hung Riverside Resort without hesitation! • Beautiful grounds and layout. In the middle is an outdoor pool. • The restaurant is large, nicely decorated, has outdoor tables overlooking the river and provides a beautiful view of the river • Our rooms were large, comfortable, with an old-world, antique look and feel. • The room has AC, a safe, coffee, wifi (somewhat slow). Bed was large and comfortable • Breakfast buffet was stunning in its wide range of food items to choose – both western and Vietnamese foods – and in its elegant arrangement. We sat outside to eat our breakfast the first morning and enjoyed the view of the river • Complimentary samples of local cuisine in the courtyard in front of the restaurant daily from 4-5 PM. The foods were excellent • Bike rental business in front of resort which was very convenient for us. I recall the rental rate being 25,000 dong a day per bike.

Great rooms, facilities & staff”
This was our third visit to Hoi An and also our third time staying at the Vinh Hung Riverside resort. The reasons why we chose to return here again are: 1. large & comfortable rooms 2. beautiful setting overlooking the river 3. great facilities -- two pools, fitness centre, kids room, free "street food" on the lawns overlooking the river every afternoon (unless raining) 4. amazing staff who always make our daughter feel welcome, get to know you by name and engage with you at an appropriate level 5. secluded quiet part of town, but still only a few minutes walk to "old town" Unfortunately, we got caught in the major flooding event of December 2016 which meant we had to be ultimately evacuated from the resort and relocate to higher ground in the old town. The staff were brilliant during this period, providing exemplary customer service in unusual and extremely difficult circumstances. On the first day of flooding (Wednesday 14 December) the water levels were around knee height from the facing street and the staff were a little slow to respond to the needs of guests who weren't willing to brave the elements and go out in flip flops and shorts trudging through the water. On the second day of flooding the venue provided a canoe service into the old town and back, as the water levels were almost waist height. As it was impractical to go out at night, they generously offered a 30% discount on all food and drink in their restaurant (and the food was surprisingly good). On the third day, the flooding was so bad that we needed to get a canoe from our room to the restaurant for breakfast. The manager came over and spoke to all the guests individually at breakfast and offered to make arrangements to find us all alternate accommodation on higher ground. They arranged for a proper motorised boat and prioritised evacuating those who had to get to the airport, providing free refreshments in the restaurant for those people waiting for a new hotel. Due to the wet weather we couldn't enjoy the pools; but we still had a great holiday. The staff were amazingly helpful, booking all the restaurants, cars, golf, tours etc we wanted - without being in your face. On our first night the barman loaned my son (age 6) a toy that he prompty fired onto the roof. The manager then came and retrieved it for him. When we tried to return the toy when we were leaving - he smiled and said that he thought my son should have it. On Christmas Eve I asked for a small plant to be put on our balcony to be used for a Xmas tree for our presents on Xmas morning, and 20 mins later 4 men carried a massive tree in a pot up the flight of stairs to my balcony for me. The weather could have ruined our holiday but the resort and staff saved it. Thanks to all the staff from all 11 of us(ranging from 6 years to 75 !). "best location for visiting Hoi An"”
We can highly recommend the Vinh Hung Riverside Resort. It is located on An Hoi, a small island directly across from Hoi An, separated by a two minute walk and a short footbridge. Staying there is much quieter and relaxed than being in Hoi An old town itself. Our large room was well furnished, very clean, with air conditioning, a huge bed, a private terrace and a view of the river. We liked everything about the resort except the ridiculous timings of the breakfast which ended at 9:30. And by "ended at 9:30" I mean at 9:20 they started clearing the food away, despite the fact that people were still eating and some were just arriving. By 9:28 all the food had been removed.

Beautiful tropical resort”
the vinh hung riverside resort is located across the river from the ancient town of hoi an. it is only a short walk to get into the heritage listed town and the resort also offers a boat ferry service to take you there as well. the shopping in hoi an is amazing with so many tailors and shoe makers to custom make anything you want at very reasonable prices. the hotel has large spacious rooms, and is set in a tropical gardens with a swimming pool. this is perfect to relax after a big day of shopping and sightseeing.

Awesome Location, Friendly Staff”
My stay was amazing. Upon check-in there was an issue with the room I booked being renovated. It was the end of the rainy season, so they were renovating some rooms in preparation for the high season. I was not pleased at first, but the manager helped to resolve the problem in a very professional manner. And from that point, everything was absolutely great. I have lived in Vietnam for 10 years and I received some of the best customer service I have ever had in Vietnam at Vinh Hung. It was also amazing to see many of the guests interacting with the staff and chatting about their tours and shopping and dining, etc. They are also enclosing the fitness room so that they can install an air conditioner, which will be a new added plus. The daily food tasting on the riverfront was also really nice and encouraged staff and guests to intermingle. There in NO DOUBT that I will be back to this resort next time I am in Hoi An. Looking forward to seeing the staff once again. Hats off to the GM and the assistant manager, who both went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. Thanks to all the employees of VH Riverside!!!! See you soon!!!!

Didn't Want To Leave”
Really enjoyed our stay here. We arrived late from Singapore and were greeted by friendly staff who checked us in efficiently and were conscious not to overload us with information as we were clearly tired. The grounds are very scenic and pleasant, and our Deluxe Riverside Room directly overlooked the river. The room itself was spacious, clean and well-equipped - it isn't 5 Star luxury but I was very happy with what I got for the money. The location is great - just a short 5-10 min walk to the old town and the route goes past some attractions of its own...there is a night market and also the Bamboo Buddha restaurant, which is one of the more upscale eateries in town (and one I would recommend). Ultimately I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Vinh Hung Riverside if I were to visit Hoi An again.

Awesome resort and amazing location”
We had the most amazing time at Vinh Hung Riverside Resort. The location is perfect and the facilities are also. The River View Deluxe Room was very nice, next time I would definitely book the River View Suite as it comes with their own pool and worth the little extra. The staff are very helpful and always presented with a welcoming smile. Only 5 mins from the Old District of Hoi An. Hire a bike and make your way around this gorgeous city. I highly recommend this Resort.

Home away from home”
We stayed over New Year with our two girls aged 6 and 4 and had a great time.The hotel is well situated and has everything you need to have a good vacation,pool,gym,free wifi,kids room etc plus activities.The best thing about the hotel though is the staff they were really friendly and made us feel at home. In fact in the area surrounding the hotel everyone was welcoming and friendly. I also recommend Y Li Spa across the road from the hotel on the right, the girls there were fun to speak to and gave professional,relaxing massages at a good price. Plus if you need any laundry done Mrs Van across the road gets the job done at a fair price. Finally I would like to thank all of the staff at Vinh Hung Riverside Resort for making our stay so enjoyable and especially to Ngnoc who gave my two daughters a rose each and to Mrs Yang for her thoughtful parting gift,nice touch! Family holiday”
I am a regular traveller to Hoi An for golfing and charity work. To celebrate my 70th birthday I took my 3 children, their spouses, 7 grandchildren and various friends to Hoi An. We had not stayed at Vinh Hung Riverside previously, but selected it for having lots of grass areas for the grandchildren to play. We were not disappointed. Riverside is a very comfortable resort. We enjoyed the grounds along the riverbank, the eating facilities and the delicious food. Try the whole steamed fish in ginger sauce! The staff were delightful and very attentive. We would go back there anytime.

Vinh Hung Riverside Resort is a fantastic place. We were staying there 7 nights. All the personal are very friendlyg, smiling and helpful. Both at cleaning in the room, serving at breakfast, at dinner og in the reception! All the times they are smiling, afsking if there is something we want! The brekfast is wonderful, there is everything and taste very good! We were leaving early in the morning - before breakfast - but agian an excellent service! We got 2 bags with breakfast, we could eat at the airport! We will give Vingh Hung River Resort our best recommend! 10 stars of 10!

We were so confused about where was best to stay when booking our holiday in Hoi An. Thankfully we chose Vinh Hung Riverside Resort. Definitely the best location for your stay. Go and enjoy cooking classes, shopping or simply soaking in the atmosphere of the market & old town, and after a hot sweaty day enjoy the pool, beautiful gardens and a yummy mocktail or cocktail at your resort. I have been to Hoi An 4 times in the last 3 years and have stayed at the Vinh Hung Riverside Resort 3 of these times. It is the best hotel I have stayed in in Vietnam and I have been to Ho Chi Minh City, Dalat, Nha Trang,Hanoi and Halong Bay. When in Hoi An it is my only choice of accomodation.

Wonderful, tranquil, picturesque”
We had the most wonderful time staying here. I'm so glad we chose Vinh Hung Riverside! It was myself, my Mum-in-law and my son who is 15 months in a very large twin bedroom with a travel cot provided by the hotel. The room was spotless, the pool was beautiful and the hotel and gardens very pretty and relaxing to be in and around. One morning we caught the free boat to the old town which was a lovely way to arrive at the local market and see Hoi An from a different angle. Wow what a wonderful holiday! The food was so delicious at the hotel one day we ate breakfast lunch and supper there! Highly recommend and one day I'll be back again!

Beautiful grounds ”
Vinh Hung Riverside resort was more beautiful than in the photos. Loved seeing the falling flowers onto the pathways, beautiful rooms and lovely resort layout. The food tasting was delicious. The resort was closer to the ancient Hoi An bustling part than I thought and it was only a 5 minute walk to the heart of the town.
