If you want all facilities you expect from a 5 star hotel for the price of 4 star, this is the place to stay in Surabaya. Excellent facilities, superb service and always smiling staff. The deluxe rooms have bath tub, shower and free mini bar! A very good swimming pool, relaxing spa and a good bar/club to unwind if needed. Tasty food in room service has to be mentioned, that too with a good vfm price list. Only thing I disliked was the extra charges for housekeeping. An evening room cleaning is charged and there is no option for turn down services. Extra recommended stay in Surabaya. Thanks for the great service, Team Verwood. Looking forward to stay here again!

Great stay”

I was having a great stay here. The hotel is cheap for a 4stars hotel, staffs are very kind and friendly, and also the bedroom is large enough and have awesome view. I came to the hotel on 10 am and we didn't have another destination until 2 pm. So we only took a seat at the hotel lobby. Lucky me, on 11 am, the hotel staff opened a room for me! They said it was empty and ready to use, so we can really early checked-in and take some rest. 😍 Just one disappointment, I booked a non-smoking room in agoda. I also write on special request column for 'non smoking room' in agoda app. But they about gave me a smoking room. Thought we should talk personally to the hotel staff, I request again for a non-smoking room, and the staff gave me a non-smoking room. However, we still got a non-smoking room with the smell of cigarettes. I am pregnant and I avoid strange smells for my baby's health. Maybe the hotel staffs could take an extra time to clean the room, especially the cigarettes smell, so another visitors can get the right room. Little notes from me to another visitor to be : if you want to get into this hotel via taxi or online taxi, just ask them to bring you to 'Somerset hotel'. They will confused if you say Verwood hotel, for former hotel's name was Somerset, and the hotel changes its name just on July 2017. Hope it will be helpful 😍

A little dated but great value for money”

We stayed in a serviced apartment. A large bed and bathtub can be difficult to find for a reasonable price, but Verwood delivered. The entire room was a little dated but comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet at the hotel restaurant. There were plenty of options and the food was excellent. The room service menu had very few options and, as expected, was quite expensive. The pool would be a little small for swimming laps but the children’s pool (30 cm deep) was the bigger attraction for us and our 1.5 year old loved it. The spa was good. Just before leaving we noticed a children’s play room, which would have been very useful to keep our child occupied instead of running around the apartment looking for things to play with. The lights were off so we were not sure if it was usable/available for guests. Overall a good property for a young family with excellent breakfast and good value.

After a short trip in taiwan, we arrived in surabaya airport, lately, our purpose of visit was to go the day after to the Bromo moutain – so we choosed an hotel “close” to airport as it is said on some reports ! but it was not so fast, even using the toll, around 30 minutes. But we recommend to use the toll from airport, no trafic jam…! So the hotel was quite a good choice for a first night in surabaya, and the next day, we began the trip to mount bromo ! so great

Great Business Hotel”

The Somerset Hotel Surabaya is a great business hotel. Located close to the Toll, it's clean, well equipped, and very reasonably priced. Everything you need and much less expensive than 5 star hotels.

I have managed to reach and get an early check in, the staff are really supportive. The room is cozy and spacious. Its a very comforting place for any occasion. With affordable price which i think is very worth it. Higly recommended for a place for staying at west of surabaya area.

Somerset Surabaya is a very nice hotel, with wonderful helpful staff. My room is very nice & new with all the amenities I need & very comfortable bed. The staff at Somerset are so friendly & helpful in all areas & make me feel very welcome at the hotel. At the time of my stay, the Somerset was doing renovations to the main Restaurant, but this did not disrupt the operation of the meals, which were excellent.Great bar for evening entertainment & nice cold beer.

Good experience, Hotel staffs are friendly who are attentive and always be there when you need them to. Good breakfast with excellent coffee. Nice interior design and very comfortable clean bed. We always stay in this hotel when we come to Surabaya. It is our favorite one.

Good location though it's an old hotel”

Verwood has a good location. It's closed to a nearby restaurants that opened to quite late at night. Some of the better restaurants in Surabaya are located here. The building itself is quite old. But for the price, it's ok. May stay at the same place due to the location if I go back to Surabaya someday.

My stay was generally very comfortable. I like the surroundings as it is quiet. it was easily accsesible for friends and business associates to visit me. The shopping malls is close enough. The breakfast was sumptious with a very good spread of delicious food. YThe staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. I would like to come back to stay when I am in Surabaya next time.

Got free upgrade”

Very very satisfying. I got free upgrade for the room. Booked for the hotel room, but during pandemic, the hotel only open for the weekend. Then the very kind receptionist upgrade it to apartment. Thanks verwood

on arrival there was a problem checking in as the booking was cancelled. but the front office staff handle the matter and act fast. room was clean and tidy.security at the hotel was tight.getting around surabaya was not a problem from somerset hotel

Hotel with a good atmotsphere”

We was stayed here during a business trip in Surabaya, this hotel is very clean and tidy and there is an ATM in the foyer and bell boys on standby which is always nice. The lobby has a band playing on the ground floor restaurant/bar. The room were spacious and well equipped. It was mostly occupied by the bed, which was huge! But a coffee table with single chair, a working table -also with a chair, a coffee maker and a well stocked mini bar will surely be able to make you feel comfy.

The Somerset Surabaya is very reasonably priced, has all the needs of the business traveler, and is convenient to the toll, airport, and the south side of Surabaya.

Pleasant and enjoyable stay”

The hotel is strategically located beside the express way which provides easy access to many major venues. It is also surrounded by a wide variety of food establishments e.g. Boncafe, Altoro Spanish bar and many other local foods.. Mr Renzo was very helpful and thoughtful and assisted in the request for room decorations for my couple friends who are newly weds. They were pleasantly surprised and had a memorable experience. The hotel is equipped with the usual facilities like a Spa, swimming pool and gym. Although thee gym room is small, it is furnished with all the necessary equipment. The food served by restaurant and bar are quite tasty and affordable. The staff are very friendly and provided excellent service. Breakfast selection does not vary much day to day and you may feel bored after a few days. Some would say that the hotel is a bit dated but I think the decor is still relatively modern and the building is well maintained. All in all,an enjoyable stay.Kudos to the team!

Just got two crowded for two day with massive group invasion. Food at Breakfast buffest ran out faster than it could be replnished. But I am happy with the hotel overrall my favaroite in Surabaya

Comfortable Hotel in a Central Location”

hotel is located at a central district within surabaya which is convenient to travel to many locations including plaza tunjungan (currently the biggest shopping mall). security checking is noted at the entrance before entering into the hotel compound which gives one some assurance. checking in is relatively hasslefree with counter staff making efforts to accommodate to your requests. staff are generally quite fluent in english so communication is fine. the room given is cosy with sufficent room to move around with your suitcase without facing restrictions along with a wide range of television satelite channels to keep one occupied. the hotel is situated near to the toll highway which would be most useful in avoiding the worst traffic jams. (a point to take note while proceeding to the airport for departure flights)

probably this hotel is lowest priced hotel among the 4 stars hotel in surabaya. But quality of facility is nice and breakfast is also good. especially noodle soup is very nice..
