One of the best cultural hotel in Surabaya”

Stayed with my spouse 4d3n for staycation. Staffs were very friendly. Hotel lobby's ambience was so warm and lemongrass scent everywhere. Room hotel was quite good and spacious enough. utilities were complete, cleanliness were also very nice. however, breakfast menu's varieties were so limited, but if you have no problem with that, their menu was enough. strategically located in Surabaya city center, and taxi drivers know this hotel's location for sure.

staff are friendly. breakfast quiet good . room are clean and neat. bathroom is good and clean. hot water is well functionally and !not clogged which is i really like it . hotel near with the biggest mall in Surabaya , Tunjungan plaza for only 5min by walking . and 2min walk behind the alley hotel for cheap souvenir and gift merchant . maybe , the cons only such a small parking lot but since we don't use a car, it's not a problem . the pillow is too big for me but its still okay. i will recommend this hotel and will stay again later :)

Worse than Budget Hotel”

I cannot believe I’d say this but for a 3-stars hotel, Varna Culture Hotel gave me the worst experience. First of all, there was no one welcomed me in the lobby and no one helped me to open the door. Second of all, the receptionist is flat and not that friendly. Third of all, the room and the bathroom was small, like a budget hotel. I can barely pray because just a little space left. And the the breakfast, IT WAS THE WORST menu eveeeer!! There were no omelette station, no pastries, fruits was empty and not refilled by the staff, main course were just rujak, bubur, and a few others. Other than that, the housekeeping were ok and they provided ironing facilities.

Very Friendly and Helpful Staff”

We stayed for 3 nites and were pleasantly upgraded to a business executive room. Internet speed and connection was good. Breakfast buffet was good. Special mentioned to Ms Mita & Mr Ardy whom are both very friendly and helpful during our check in. Will definitely stayed there again if in Surabaya. Location was also excellent near to Sogo Department Store and T. Plaza.

Location at the heart of Surabaya. Easy to get transport & travel around. Everything is good except occasionally there are mosquitoes in the compound.

Varna is strategically positioned in CBD. Really close to the mall. On Sunday, there is a car free day just outside the hotel. The service are okay. Food is also nice.

Great hotel near Tunjungan Plaza”

We stayed in the business room. The room was nice and clean. The staffs at the front desk and restaurant. were friendly. My 3 years old love to play with them. I forgot their names. I personally live the interior design of the hote. I got to show my kids the antiques when I was their ages. The food at this restaurant was delicious. I've got to say the chef knows how to cook. The hotel location is near Tunjungan Plaza. You can walk if you want. There's a spa service which I tried for 1 hour. It was ok. We also had a driver service. We enjoyed our stay. No mosquitos in the room so no complaint at all.

Short stay”

It was a simple check-in within 5mins. Desk lady was very friendly. Ordered their room service food which was fantastic. Hotel location were marvellous, centralised and classic-look building. Room were given smoking room which was a bad point as I requested for non-smoking room. Overall 4/5.

Business room is more recommended rather than superior”

I stayed 2 times in a week, first I stayed 2 nights at business type room. It was great, I loved the room: spacy, clean, very well maintained. Staff were very helpful. One of the staff named Bintang assisted us to all we needed. Second time I stayed there, the front desk staff was not very helpful. He charged me extra for single bed instead of twin. I stayed in superior for a night, the room was not very spacy, bathrom was dirty. Not recommended. Overall I still loved this hotel especially business type room. It worthed the money.

Good location”

The room and hotel is pleasant and clean. The staff are always with a smile. Its only 5 mins walk to Tunjungan Plaza from the hotel. Their breakfast spread is not huge but nevertheless its nice with leas varieties.

Fantastic Location”

Had a nice stay here, the room was fairly clean and spacious. The hotel location was great too, near to the Tunjungan mall and the Majapahit Hotel. Overall, very satisfied.

Strategically located”

Limited park space but no worries. You can park by the road side and pay for the parking fees. Unsure of whether the hotel will reimburse you. Room size a bit small and depend on your luck, you may get free upgrade without asking. I guess due to the limited rooms available at the hotel. The building itself is a heritage building. Very limited food selection for breakfast. Taste so-so only. 4 thumbs up for staff support & responds.

The location of the hotel is very near to Plaza Tunjungan which is a plus point for food. Room was clean and comfortable. Really value for money. Breakfast was so-so.

Pros : great location in the middle of town, cheap price, big space. Cons : the wifi was terrible, it was hard to connect. Do not expect the view since this building has only 2 floors.
