Exceptional”

We enjoyed our stay at this guest house, despite the mold that comes with an old place in a humid environment. However, at the request of the owner we are including information about something that happened during our time in Tanah Rata. While hiking on Trail 4 between Century Pines Resort and the Chimp Cameron Highlands Montane Park we were both sexually assaulted by an Indian man. He was hiking the same direction as us but had stopped to urinate on the trail ahead of us, so we stopped to give him some privacy. He decided to turn around and head toward us once he finished and when he did, he grabbed my partner between the legs. She turned and yelled at him to stop, which led him to pull out his penis and proceed toward us again. After several minutes, we convinced him to put it away and leave us alone, so then he left. We ran in the opposite direction. We informed the guest house about this when we returned, and were told that another woman had been attacked on trail 5 the previous year. There have also been rumors of other assaults. If you are a woman visiting the Cameron Highlands, please be extremely cautious. We were two women hiking and still weren’t safe, so if you want to hike, go with a large group and never go alone. The guest house owner is very knowledgeable about which trails are safe, and was very kind when we told him about what happened to us. We felt very safe staying there, and would recommend it to other women and travelers looking to visit Tanah Rata.

Murah, Selesa dan View Garden Yang Cantik”

Staff peramah. Bilik ok, sesuai dengan harga yang murah. Dinding playwood, akan dengar perbualan dari bilik sebelah. Water heater tidak berfungsi, kena maklum dlu kpd staff barulah ambil tindakan (better make sure btl2 berfungsi sebelum guest check in) staff mengambil tindakan yg pantas utk membantu. Tidak ada kipas/aircond sb cuaca mmg sejuk. Menginap 3 hari 2 malam, cadar tidak ditukar, sampah tidak dibuang dari bilik. Persekitaran sgt cantik, taman bunga dan kolam ikan yg sgt awesome bagi penginapan bajet spt ini. Prefer penginapan yang berkonsepkan guest house spt ini kerana lebih senang untuk angkat barang2 (tidak perlu susah payah naik tangga/lif). Sesuai utk bawa anak kecil dan orang tua. Kedudukan strategik di tengah bandar Tanah Rata, boleh jalan kaki utk ke kedai berhampiran, sgt2 mudah kerana travel bsama anak kecil bawah 3 tahun. Tiada parking kereta :( Keselamatan tmpt menginap ok krn pintu pagar sentiasa ditutup (tp x kunci utk guest keluar masuk waktu mlm).

A warm and welcoming experience”

My boyfriend and I had originally booked for two nighys but ended up staying for four. The room was great value, very tidy and comfortable. The location itself is very central, close to food stalls, 7 Eleven and a batiwty of great restaurants. The biggest asset to this place however is its staff. Joe (the owner) was extremely helpful, and went above and beyond when giving us advice on hiking trails and information on where to travel in Malaysia next. He was very wwlcoming and we truly fwlt at home staying in Twin Pines.

Value for money”

One of the cheapest guesthouses you can get at great location in Tanah Rata Owner of place is nice and talks to all guests when he is around. Staff is also helpful. Rooms are big enough but since its old.property its best for backpackers... For families facilities is expected to be littke better. We stayed in family room..bathroom was not upto mark..the water was overflowing from.inside water storage area of comode. Hot water was available and water pressure also good

Good value for money”

Close to the bus station in Tanah Rata, there are several stores and restaurants and food stalls nearby. Room was clean and comfortable and came with hot water which was a nice bonus. Would definitely recommend the place for budget travelers!

Pros: Value for money, strategic location. Near bank, shop, restaurant and groceries Cons: towel room smelly, look dirty. Considering value for money, twin pines gives more sactifactions than you need

Choć pokoje i ich standard nie zachwycają, to myślę, że biorąc pod uwagę cenę - jest ok. Dobre na jedną czy dwie noce jako baza wypadowa do Plantacji Herbaty. Nie ma pralni, więc serwis wprowadza w błąd. Pan w recepcji nadrabia jednak za niedogodności - wyłożył nam cały plan Cameron Highlands i opisał co najlepiej zwiedzić, gdzie, jak i za ile. Polecam, ale na krótko :)

Quiet but rundown guesthouse”

The location of this place is great, right in the centre of Tanah Rata and close to eating shops. The room I shared with my teenage daughter was very basic with clean sheets, towels, and hot shower. But the place itself had seen better days, and was rather rundown. The dining area was not clean, with mugs, used tissues, and ashtrays filled with cigarette butts lying around. There wasn't any shelf or cupboard with clean cups or cutlery available for guests to use. No washing detergent either. Such items are basic and necessary. No TV at all anywhere for guests to catch up on local news. The place in general seems to be falling apart from lack of maintenance and care. Notice boards with information for guests were outdated. If you just want a bed to sleep then it's alright but don't expect anything else. But, the receptionist is a pleasant fellow.

It's very near to the main area Tanah Rata. You can access to shops and restaurants easily. It takes time to have hot shower. Be patient!

Beautiful Place”

My family enjoyed staying in this beautiful, clean and cool place. We enjoyed sitting and chatting in the beautiful garden....Staff are friendly and helpful. We will recommend this old guesthouse to our friends and relatives.

Clean budget hotel in need of updates”

Pros: -Great location, within walking distance of restaurants and shopping yet off the main road for quiet. -Staff person, Roso (sp?) was extremely helpful and put up a mosquito screen over our bathroom window at our request. -Clean, nice white sheets Cons: -The place is dated and in need of updates. -Our bathroom plumbing leaked the whole time. Summary: The guesthouse behind this one had similar prices and much newer facilities.

Cheap, Affordable & Basic ”

Very cheap, decent facilities, very close to the banks and local eateries. But the pillow was very hardrock (I got room #16 with slightly malfunctioned door) so you might want to bring your own pillow. The place has lots of sitting stool and tables for tea and reading at the porch. I like the front garden. Full of greens and flowers. One more thing, the room isn't sound proof. You can easily hear a human conversation next room, like literally.

I stayed here with my mom for one night. its really quiet and peaceful at night. no noise at all. the room is quite okay. its just no heater but we don't care much because its only for one night. internet is superb. its very calming looking at the garden and there is a cute dog around (she doesn't cause any trouble at all). its very near to go find food (5-10min walking distance). overall, a great place.

Place was old and room was basic with hot water but don't have a TV in room. Wifi connection in room was slow.Great location and really helpful and friendly staff. Bank, restaurant, shop and bar was nearby just a short distance walk.

Great place close to restaurants,market,very helpful staff,breakfast provided. Small and dark room but clean. It is not in very good condition.Nice garden outside to chill out.All in all..good value for the money,recommend!

Staff were nice, the environment was good, room was okay, water heater is functioning, not suitable for family with children i guess..

Nothing much to complain ”

Overall is fine. Arrived late at 1am but managed to check in. Very friendly host. The location is strategic near to food court, easy to get breakfast. But be careful, it is very congested during weekends and public holiday. It'll takes up to 1 hour to get to the main road. Haha. Thank you uncle!
