Good stay but facilities to be improved”

It was a good stay in Tropics Eight Suites. The only cons are the air conds auto turned off after switching on for some time and they could not be turned on again. The water heater was also not functioning well. But the staff were very responsive to our requests to fix these.

Comfort stay”

We had a great stay in Tropics Eight Suite. The suite is spacious with comfortable beds and great shower & bathroom which both are separated. Definitely will come back again.

Descent Place to Stay”

We enjoyed our stay at Tropics Eight. As many people commented earlier, the rooms had sound proofing issue, we could hear the traffic sound and at the time sound of door opening from adjacent room. The staffs should be bit more welcoming. They were really cooperative and helpful, when I approached. It would be helpful, if they could assist the customer with luggage while checking and checking out.

Huge rooms & value for money accommodation”

Rooms - I had booked the standard room which was quite spacious with all the basic amenities. Location - close to popular malls Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon. 8-10 mins. 20-30 mins to Batu Ferringi beach, 15-20 mins to Penang Hill and 15-20 mins to the heritage area in Georgetown (Grab taxi ride). Facilities - complementary laundry, breakfast ( basic ala carte, staff claims it to be halal), coffee shop named Ounces & Grams within the premises serves amazing coffee at very reasonable prices. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Check in gampang, dibutuhkan deposito untuk check-in jadi jangan kaget ketika dimintai deposito. Deposito akan dikenakan RM 200, dan akan dikembalikan ketika check out. Dan tax RM 10 /night. Kamarnya luas, AC dingin dan di 1 kamar ada 3 AC, semua berfungsi dengan baik. Juga ada microwave, ada juga kamar yang ada kompornya, kamarnya bersih, all best, sangat cocok jika liburan keluarga, kamar sangat luas. Kalau ke penang bakalan nginap disini lagi, semua servicenya okee. Demi demi ke penang cuma untuk tinggal di suite ini. Lokasinya juga gak jauh dari kota. Kalau untuk ke mall kita paling habis RM 5 naik grab.

Tropics 8 Suites is the best place to stay with family. They're have big! really big room, sofa, sofa bad, a bad and kitchen. The only thing is i hate about that pleace is the balcony very dirty and The TV no channel, only Malaysia channel. I book for 3 night, for that 3 night 4 days i never open TV and balcony i have to clean it myself. Overall the hotel the best for Family stay.

Lowest PRICE for A SUITE ”

I come with my wife for a honeymoon around.. Stumble it by using agoda apps.. For a Standard Suite for rm160+ per night.. And upon check in the room is full so we got free upgrade PREMIER ROOM- what a delight.. We stay 3 days by paying less.. The place location is good.. Center of penang.. Everything easier by grab.. IF NORMAL price i will be paying rm400+ per night.. Agoda is the best

Great Value + Great Location”

Tropics Eight Suites is located conveniently near to all the famous eateries such as Gurney Drive and malls like Gurney Plaza and Paragon. Just 5 minutes away by car you will find even more food choices near the Pulau Tikus market, Bangkok Lane and Burma Road. The hotel is also quite central between town and Batu Feringgi thus making travel time less of a hassle. The space is pretty big and comes quite well equipped. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be a returning customer.

Since our main purpose visiting Penang is for medical check up, this hotel is a walking distance to Penang Adventist Hospital which is really great. Nearby hotel is a couple of restaurant and a food court. We stayed at the family suite, the room itself is spacious and the amenities are great. The only downside in my opinion is the slow wifi, hope they can fix that soon. Overall would likely to stay here again on my next visit to Penang.

Staff is nice, rooms are clean. I had to be at the Thai Embassy at the time and it was nice and close to that. About a 10 minute walk or so. Nice food court around the corner, great food and not expensive. And beneath it there is a 7/11 and another local supermarket to get stuff if you forgot something. The only thing, I would wish for that there was breakfast included here. This was my second time booking here and sadly on my second time I had no window view (Had to open a closed door to the balcony), which makes the suite feel a bit smaller. All in all, great place to stay! Whenever I get to Penang again, I will be at this place again!

Best value and comfort for family/group. As it’s an apartment, it more comfortable than a room/suite for family/groups. Apartment is clean and well maintained. This is my third time staying at Tropics 8.

Great location but..”

We stayed here 2 years ago and was disappointed this time when we’re back 2 years later. Rooms were not well maintained, esp its cleanliness. Booked a Studio Suite this time - cosy space, has a kitchenette but without an electric stove so u cant really do some light cooking. Theres a microwave oven, a fridge and a kettle, some cutleries and thats pretty much it. Superb location and getting to the malls at Gurney or anywhere to Georgetown is just about 10mins drive/Grab away. We will be back IF cleanliness improves. Imagine a coffeetable with food crumbs when we checked in. Sticky side tables by the bedside. Dust almost everywhere. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Hotel located strategically in the area of convenience. Easy access to anywhere, with the Grab promo code given by the hotel (RM5 off, limited to 2 times per phone number, promotion not sure till when, please call and check if this concern you) Staff were friendly and the check-in was done without problems. The room was really big with a mini kitchen. The shower comes with rainshower too, however, the shower drainage rate a little slow. Otherwise, everything was good. Definitely going back if I were to visit Penang again :) (PS. There is a pet cafe just right below the hotel with adorable husky :) )

The suite is clean and spacious, it's really worth with this price, everything is great except during the night, the street noises was a bit loud but still acceptable. 3 air-conditioning in one suite, the best ! Highly recommended to families and friends with big groups.

A 5-Star choice for all travelers”

For the same price, you get 40 sqm instead of 18 sqm in Georgetown city Centre. Free breakfast is average. Location is great, the food court next to hotel is fantastic. RM8 gets you into city. Cleanliness is superb. Staff is attentive. Items delivered in 10 minutes. Car park Facilities is a bit narrow for SUV.

I booked the studio suite based on the photos given on agoda. Turns out, my room has no window at all (my main negative point) and when i asked the front office for a room change, he said that all the studio suite has no window. Turns out, the studio suite pictures shown in Agoda are actually for premier suites. So maybe an accurate picture will be very much helpfull and appreciated. Room is clean, aircond works properly, amenities are perfect, the only concerning matter are the noises coming from above level. Can hear them walking, dragging the chairs, moving this and that soooo clearly. Oh..and also the bed is so small (queen size) when it clearly stated King size bed on Agoda. But I just dont want to bother, maybe the answer will be the same. Thank you

good hotel but limited parking”

Nice hotel. Room is spacious and awesome, especially with the small kitchen, u can bring outside foods to enjoy here (i bring with kids, so is important, equipped with bowl, plates etc.), bed is nice, bathroom is clean and big, no issue with hot water. Take note on hotel parking, it is classic penang parking: slightly small, n very limited parking. Only 10 to 16 parking lots if not mistake, n B3 is for office only. I cant imagine if during peak seasons… overall this is a good hotel which worth to stay. Btw, i stay during thursday n friday, none school or public holidays.

Overall our stay i could say that its enjoyable but only got 1 minor problem is the plumbing in bathroom every time i take a bath it will become like a mini pond and the water seems to really slow to flow to the hole... Thats my only draw back since when i complaint it still happens in the room suites 105. The rest i would say its awesome. Staff friendly and helpful. Room spacious and comfy... had all the amenities for bathroom... and also mini kitchen where microwave provided, refrigerator also provided.. and electric stove with a complete kitchen set for us if we want to cook and eat... really nice... we also got 3 air con in the room... This place location is 5 mins to gurney plaza/ paragon by grab. 5 mins walk to goodall a cafe with lots of varieties food. And 2 mins walk to seven eleven / happy mart. A free to use gym room, n free to use shared washing machine.. So its recommended just need them to fixed the plumbing...

Best find nearby Adventist”

Pro + Relatively close to Adventist + Relatively affordable + Relatively clean and tidy + Has hawker nearby + Fully equipped as a studio-like apartment + Has grab voucher when we stayed before (- 5 ringgit). 5 mins by grab (excluding waiting time) to gurney. Cons - The noise from the street is loud. - Not in georgetown which is the centre of the city, but grab is not that expensive. - The family room was kind of smelly, and the staff confirmed that the room has not been used for a while. There was leakage in the bathroom. - No TV in the bedroom so you have to watch outside, in the living room. Overall good choice if you plan to stay near adventist.
