Great Stay, perfect location!”
We stayed at the Travel Lodge Wellington from December 19-23 2012, and appreciated the warm welcome, efficiency and hospitality. The hotel is perfectly located; a few minutes walk from all the ‘attractions’ – museum, shops, restaurants, public transport, Wellington harbor, Parliament, Churches, supermarkets etc. The check-in/out process was seamless. All the staff were very courteous and delightful to deal with. The room was very clean with twin beds and practical layout. Breakfast buffet was adequate. Across the road are Starbucks and many eating places. As a frequent traveler, having stayed in hotels across Europe, USA and South East Asia, what makes the Travel Lodge Wellington stand out was the quality and friendliness of staff, and efficiency of management. I would recommend this hotel to stay in Wellington: great value, good location, providing the best of ‘kiwi’ hospitality. Special mention of the brilliant front desk staff – friendly, and competent. Appreciated the personalized management services of Mr Nigel Warwick, and Duty Manager Mr Avid. Thank you for a memorable stay in Wellington, NZ!

Hard to fault for value, location”
My husband and I just spent three nights at Travelodge Wellington. Got a great deal and very happy with our choice of this hotel. So no view, but for the price we paid, weren't expecting one. Greeted by friendly, helpful staff on arrival who were happy to store luggage until our room was ready. Comfy king bed, great shower, and the unexpected bonus of microwave, crockery and cutlery, along with fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Down the Plimmer steps to Lambton Quay. Only $10 each from airport to hotel by SuperShuttle. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel within Wellington CBD”
Stayed 2 nights in Travelodge. The room is quite small and we can hear the voice of people laughing from the bar below the hotel (We stayed on the 11th floor). Overnight parking is $28 per night. However, this hotel is located within Wellington CBD and 7 mins walking distance to the Wellington Cable Car. Good value for money as well. Lots of good restaurants around the hotel. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.

Great central location. Clean , tidy rooms”
This was the first time we had stayed at the Travelodge in Wellington and we booked a king room. The room had up to date decor and was very clean and tidy. We liked the addition of the microwave in addition to the usual tea/coffee making facility. This is not a luxury hotel but a good all rounder for that weekend break or a short time in Wellington.

Welcoming Staff”
Our stay at the Wellington Travelodge was perfect. Cleanliness of our room, good choice of food on the menus, staff all helpful and friendly. We had an issue with initially opening our room door and the cleaner from along the corridor came along to advise us. It was appreciated. We seemed to get preferential service which was prevalent everywhere. Top class but not top price.

Worth it.”
Awesome location. Right in the middle to the both sides of Wellington. The staff was very friendly. The room and everything else is flawless. If I were to be in Wellington or any other cities with this brand, I would not hesitate to choose Travelodge as my first choice of stay for sure.

Affordable Central Accommodation”
A very pleasant stay. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful at all times. Although the room was quite small, it had all the right facilities, including an iron and microwave, but the best feature was a wonderful shower in the bathroom. The added bonus was the parking for vehicles - the main hotel entrance was actually located in the car park, so it was extremely easy to come and go at any time. No having to wait for valet service. I would happily stay at Travelodge again on my next visit to Wellington.

A good option in Central Wellington”
Travelodge hotel is a very good option to spend some nights in Wellington. We've been last year here and they gave on this stay an upgrade to a better room with a view and larger than last year. Really the breakfast worth it

Quiet Central Location with Car Parking Extra”
We always enjoy staying at the Travelodge as we find it quiet and very convenient. Carparking is very close to the reception entry but is separately charged out - we like our car undercover & they have surveillance cameras operating. When we don't need to use the car, we can walk down the Plimmer steps straight into Lambton Quay. PLEASE NOTE : that if you walk into the Old Bank Arcade off Lambton Quay, be very careful walking on the smooth geometrical tile floor which has a deceptive incline/decline in it. Apparently many people have had falls in this arcade and in fact I fell and broke my femur and ended up in Wellington Hospital waiting nearly 4 days for an operation rather than using my Travelodge room :(

Different experience”
A very different experience to the last time I stayed at the hotel. Last time I left thinking that I had found the hotel in Wellington that I was always use. Unfortunately this time was a less pleasant experience. The hotel is general very good, clean, quiet and great staff, this time however there were two things that spoiled my trip. Firstly the bed was made of two parts (common in big hotels) unfortunately they were at slightly different heights which meant an uncomfortable night. Secondly the room was not made up during our stay so the bed was unmade for the second night. Not a disaster but one of those things you expect when paying the price I paid.

Excellent hotel . centrally situated within walking distance of all the shops, harbour etc. Very quiet rooms. large well furnished, very clean, quiet, staff very friendly, on site car park available. excellent value for money for the centre of Wellington, only 15 mins to International airport. why stay and pay in a 5 star hotel when you can stay here.

Excellent value for money”
Hotel in perfect for a couple for a short stay in Wellington. You cannot beat the value for money. Central to attractions - 2 minutes from cable car, 5 mins from waterfront, 10 minutes from Cuba Street. You walk straight out onto main shopping street. If you manage to get a room on top floor can also get pretty cool views of the city.

Very clean, well located and friendly staff”
I enjoyed my stay at the Travelodge. I found staff helpful but also discreet - the housekeeping staff did their jobs very well but weren't at all noisy. I've stayed at some hotels where they slam doors constantly but I barely noticed they were there despite my room being next to their supply closet. My room was very clean and comfortable. Not extravagant at all but modern enough to feel worth the money I paid. I had a room on the 22nd floor which had a great view. The hotel is well located for business and tourist activities. It is not in the nightlife district but Wellington is not a big city and such things were a 5-10 minute walk away. Patrons with mobility needs might find this hotel a little difficult to access. I am sure they have accessible entrances but the building is located quite oddly on a hill so I probably wouldn't choose to stay here if I needed mobility assistance.

Comfortable hotel ”
Very soft comfortable bed, nearby attractions like Te Papa Museum, railway station is about 16-20 mins walkable distance, cable car ride up is just a stones throw away, the downside is that Wellington closed shop really early at 5pm. The supermaket is about 10 mins walk away and there's really a variety of selection of things that ranges from wine to fruits, bread etc... There's indeed many cafes around but still good to buy some ingredients from the supermarket and cook in the hotel room as they provided microwave, just get yourself a microwave safe container which I bought from the supermarket itself and you can whip up some simple meal to cut down your cost on your 3 meals a day.

Excellent Value for money”

Great Location”
The hotel was located in the heart of Wellington City Center. There is a path that leads right to Lambton Quay which is the central road of the City Center. Only 1 min walk to Cable car station. Many restaurants and shops nearby, but still very quiet in the night. You can walk to most attractions or have a short ride by bus. Great value for money, though the beds were a bit saggy in the middle.

Better bed than home”
The Travelodge was nice. Unassuming. The bed was comfortable even though it was a twin, and had nice white sheets over the duvet instead of a gross, never-washed comforter. The location is pretty great, just off of Lambton Quay so lots to do, and the Cable Car entrance was close. I liked the prominence of sculpture in Wellington and you see the John Plimmer statue as you walk down to the street. Nice. It was windy when I arrived so the peoples' laughter and shouting below was drowned out by wind, Saturday night was louder but it's in the middle of the city so that is to be expected. The mini bar was tempting but, at hotel prices, I declined. The TV only had a few channels and movies were $19.99 each (!!!) so those were foregone as well. Overall a nice stay in Wellington, good enough for the money.

Great all round”
I have been to Wellington any times over the years and often said I could never find a quiet hotel to stay at. Well I should have tried Travel lodge earlier. Easy and early check in, great comfortable room and bed (King sized), very fast lift and close to everything in the CBD.

Good central hotel - generic but good”
This hotel is located very centrally for Wellington and is good value for the money. I've stayed here before and will stay here again. It is consistent in its good quality and near a lot of restaurants and bars and such. It is on the inexpensive side of things.

Good location in the CBD”
It was a pleasant stay for 4 nights. Centrally located in the CBD area in Wellington. A reasonable pricing room - do not expect 5 stars amenities. Only downside is the pricey internet. Hotel claimed that it is a norm for other hotels too. I don't think so though. Also, do remember to check the items at the mini bar after you checked into your room for the 1st time. But overall, it is a no frills hotel. Highly recommended for travellers who just need a room.
