convenient place reasonable price, friendly staff”

Remembered when reach then tung,I am single room for four day accommodations, which I supposed need book for 8persons room.after reach in first day,after discuss with the receptionist ,they offering me with me same promotion price for add more 4people room.feel that management of hotel considered for those traveler whose make this big mistake booking wrong number room.location hotel convenience to my group go anywhere with just walking .local tour package for half day pricing acceptable.and tour guide is so nice which explain more knowledge for ho Chi Minh city to us .a good memory for me about then tung hotel.

Excellent, central hotel, great location and helpful staff”

I chose this hotel partly for its location in District 1 and for the indoor pool as a typhoon was forecast so it would have been useful if the weather had been bad. Pool is small but fine for a swim after a hot days sightseeing. Rooms nice and spacious with tea and coffee, tv, air con and rescently refurbished in a traditional style. Buffet breakfast on top floor each day had lots of Vietnamese food but also fruit, cereal and toast so fine for everyone however adventurous or not. Reception staff were very helpful and spoke pretty good English. They can book tours, change money and get taxis. All in all a pretty decent find for £50 a night in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City

Troubling with Red Invoice and Early Check-out”

I took one night at Thien Tung hotel. It's good at location and general service but not good for 02 points: - I have to check-out early morning due to busy for biz-trip, but the staff take so much time and they also forget give back my ID card. What a terrible situation when I checked-in at Air Port. - One more about issuing Red invoice, it's take so much time and many conversations with Agoda's staff and hotel's accountant. When I need support for revising Red Invoice, accountant shown a bad attitude like I have to beg them for this. Hope the hotel can improve this to not satisfy tourists only but also business booking like me also.

The Thien Tung Hotel in Ho Chi Ming, Vietnam is a wonderful hotel & it's location is perfect to explore the Ben Thanh Market. All the shopping, markets & restaurants are short walking distance. Try the Mon Viet Restaurant just behind the Ben Thanh Market & take the Indochina Saigon River dinner cruise (sit by the window on the Port side). Both will bring a smile to your face. I would recommend this hotel to my friends & relatives.

Paradise in busy city”

WE were in a different hotel and changed to Thien Tung as our other room was just too small and the air con didn't work and it was a bit out in slightly unsafe feeling area. Thien Tung was perfect, pool was great, air con great, the breakfast delicious and I highly recommend it.

A pleasant surprise”

A pleasant surprise - I had stayed at the Thien Tung before and thought it was soso. The hotel has done some major renovations and I was pleasantly surprised. The dining room has been moved to the top floor and the rooms all painted and spruced up. Internet is great and it's great to have a swimming pool in the heart of HCMC.

Perfect Location and Accommodation”

Staff were great, they are very helpful especially that we have a one year old kid; Location is very near to Ben Than Market hence we enjoyed the night market every single day. Located just in front of Ho Chi Minh Museum of Fine Arts. Bus station is likewise in distance. Breakfast buffet is excellent too:)

Great budget hotel with pool”

For a budget hotel Thien Tung Hotel ticks all the boxes, good location opposite Ben Thanh market, the room was average size for a budget hotel, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and everything worked as it should. The WIFI was fast and reliable with no drop outs. Friendly and helpful staff topped of a nice stay. I needed 4 nights but only 2 were available which was a pity. No in room safe. The hotel has a small pool very unusual for hotels in Saigon. If your looking for a hotel around this price range and location, highly recommended.

great welcome to Saigon!”

we arrived in the early morning from the airport (hellish flight) and they checked us into our room - no extra charge. we recovered throughout the day, treating ourselves to hot showers, naps, and mini-adventures around the hotel. we enjoyed the fitness room (small/simple: treadmill, bench press) with our kids and swam in the pool. the pool however is indoors and chilly - without a workout first, not sure i'd have used the pool at all. the hotel has 2 elevators so stairs are optional. great coffee at breakfast but when we showed up 5 minutes before breakfast officially ended (9:30), the staff told us it was closed. we pushed past and had a great buffet meal, eggs, fruit, fantastic flan and yogurt - staff looked a bit under-appreciated. the manager of the hotel was very nice though as well as the front desk staff - smiley, helpful, and welcoming. good value, good location but so many hotels in Saigon and such a large city (10 million) - no need to pre-book more than a night or two as a landing pad. we were close to the OVER priced Ben Thanh market and a 10 minute walk to the backpacker's district (seek out Cafe Lam for a great Chili Lemongrass Chicken for about $2 - we kept going back for more - so good!!).

Average hotel with good location”

Just stayed here for four nights and it's a good, convenient hotel for the price. The hotel is located in a renovated 1930's French colonial building in District 1 which is where you need to stay if you're a tourist. All the main attractions are within a 20 minute walk, though some of the streets you have to cross are quite busy. The indoor pool in the hotel was a welcome relief after spending a day walking around the city. The breakfast buffet was just okay, and be advised that it's best to the restaurant early as not all of the food items get refilled. We booked guided tours through the front desk and were very satisfied with the quality of the tour. The room was comfortable and clean, but I found it to be rather noisy. HCM is a loud city at all hours and I did find the outside noise to be distracting though not enough so that I couldn't sleep. The cheaper rooms are actually quieter that the deluxe rooms because of fewer windows. Be advised that they are starting to build a metro in HCM and I saw that construction crews were getting ready to start excavating a station just in front of the hotel so there can be some noise/detour issues in the future. The construction will affect most hotels in District 1 in some form or another so take heed.

Strategic location - Place Could Use a Spruce Up”

Stayed four nights - very helpful staff - especially the bespectacled boy at reception. Tentative and helpful - he went the extra mile to help retrieve my phone which i foolishly left in the cab coming to the hotel. Just five minutes walk to Ben Thanh market and you should be able to reach all the worthwhile places to visit within District 1 in under 20 minutes walk. Rooms facing Ben Thanh market could use some tinting on the windows since it can get super bright at night. Old building so could use some sprucing up. Breakfast is quite horrid btw - not worth the extra spent. Please improve here. Otherwise a decent place to stay at the price if you're looking to camp right in the thick of HCM District 1

Nice Clean Helpfull staffs”

Really do like this hotel. when it comes to Vietnam hotel you would think of claustrophobic room. But this hotel is so spot on from space, cleanliness, design, breakfast, staff. They let me to check out late for 1 hour which is really helpful. The Staff both front office and especially Mr. Bellboy (i didn't get his name) super helpful. i was so anxious to get to airport (the traffic!!! OMG) and after too many times cancelling my Grab orders, i got banned to order more. But Mr. Bellboy helped me book one through his phone and its like he calmed me down and saved my life. (thank you again Anh!) Would not think twice to book this hotel again. Great job!

Good hotel with a great location”

We stayed 3 persons in a familyroom (706) with one double and two single beds. The room had 40" flatscreen TV, 4 soft chairs with a coffee table, small desk, a wardrobe cabinet and still plenty of space to move around. The bathroom had a sitting spastyle bathtub. Mixers were not in too good nick, but worked OK. A/C was quiet and worked well. Staff were kind and helpful. After reading other reviews, we did not expect a lot from the breakfast and pool. Breakfast were absolutely acceptable for us. Several asian dishes, toast, juice, fresh fruit, coffee and well done fried eggs does the job for us, but if you expect fresh croissants and omelets you will have to look for another hotel. We did not try the pool as the location, size and surroundings were not inviting. The pool is avaiable, take it as a bonus, as the hotel is really good value even without it. The hotel is located around 100 meters from Ben Thanh market and Saigon Square, so it is an excellent base for a shopping raid before flying home...

A most enjoyable few days to end a holiday”

Most enjoyable. The staff went out of their way by way of assistance & were extremely helpful, the breakfast buffet was plentiful and of good quality and my family room was spacious & comfortable in all aspects & kept immaculately clean. The pool and small gym on the first floor were a bonus and the hotel is in easy walking distance of the majority of district 1 with the fine arts museum directly opposite and adjacent to binh thanh markets.

great location”

Perfect location for exploring the city.Only a few minutes walk from the Ben Thanh market. The streets either side of Ben Thanh have a night market each evening where you can shop and eat cheaply. The hotel can arrange tours. We did the 1day city tour and the Cu Chi tunnels tour and would recommend both.The hotel is a good value budget hotel.

Luxury City Hotel at Excellent Location”

Family Suite was very spacious. You can do cartwheels inside the room. Staff were very accommodating. Our room (706) had city view which is rare for a hotel in HCM (as we were told). Complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea. Minibar, fridge and water heater were useful. Restroom with bath tub. Breakfast buffet was superb. Minor concerns: shower room door knob was broken, needs to be shaken to lock. a/c unit was dripping. Concerns were negligible though.

Comfortable stay located close to Ben Than market”

This is was a comfortable hotel close to the market. Walking distance to many of the museums, palace, Saigon Skydeck, restaurants, shopping and main attractions of Ho Chi Min. Good three star standard, no bells and whistles just great value for money for the location.

regular hotel efficient”

Thien tung hotel is very functional, without the extra needed to make the hotel special. The staff were generally good and efficient. I would stay there again because I got exactly what I expected for the price.

Convenient and reasonable price”

this hotel was a stop-over to meet a tour in ho chi min city. the hotel itself is nice with a pool. the breakfast is basic but has nice fresh bread. the front of house staff were not very friendly and had no desire to help. in the evenings the staff sleep in the lobby so the security was a little disconserting. i have to be honest and say i would not want to stay here again but if you want cheap good location then it's fine.
