Happy from star til finish”
Stayed there for 2 nights. The hotels location is just 1km away from the night market. Hence, you can walk out and in easily. Ammenities is a bit dated, but acceptable, just as other hotels/ resorts in Phu Quoc, their grade all sub-par to normal standard on mainland. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They have free airport pickup service. And in our last day, due to bad schedule of VietJer Air, our flight has to be delayed for 4 hours. The hotel prepare a private comfortable room with air con for us to rest and wait. And, it's free! Their restaurant quality also very good. No need to have dinner outside. My highly recommended!

A Great Stay at Thien Hai Son”
When we booked Thien Hai Son online with Agoda, we intended to only stay there one night, as by local standards it is a little expensive. However after spending the first night there we very quickly decided that it was good value and asked if we could extend our stay for the rest of our time on Phu Quoc. This request, along with everything else, was attended to with a minimum of fuss and a warm friendly smile. The hotel has a variety of accomodation, including general hotel rooms and also beachside bungalows. The first night we spent in a "mountain view room" and the rest of our stay was on the opposite side of the hotel in a "seaview" room. The rooms were the same except for the view, but were spacious and airy with plenty of closet space. Perhaps one of the only criticisms I could make of this hotel, is that the the ensuite bathrooms are in need of renovation. However they are clean and functional and provided with a full array of toiletries. The hotel also has quite a large restaurant where the included buffet breakfast is served and that is also a delight, with a wide range of Eastern and Western dishes to choose from. I can recommend the seafood pancakes. However I think the best part of the hotel is the private beach, which is equipped with plenty of sun beds and some sporting equipment for the more energetic. The beach is also staffed during the day with attendants providing towels and generally maintaining the area. The beach area is also served by a seperate bar and cafe, which is an ideal spot to relax with a cold drink and watch the sun go down over the sea. The hotel also boasts a very large swimming pool. One other thing that may need to be considered by those with limited mobility, is that the hotel, although only three stories, does not have an elevator, so a ground floor room may be required. And at the end of a wonderful stay, the staff will happily transport you back to the airport for your outbound flight.

Friendly,Clean and Comfortable.”
Thien Hai Son is best option when you want to book a hotel with conditions: nice sea view, room is clean and quiet, friendly staff. First day, when I just arrived to Phu Quoc airport, a staff of Thien Hai Son pick up me and my friend with smile, warm up and an introduce about changes of Phu Quoc. Second day, I enjoying buffet breakfast, the food is good and tasty. Thien Hai Son has a beautiful swimming pool.During days,I stay at hotel,my room are always orderly and clean. I'm interesting snack food, it changed each day: yogurt,fruits...

Great location and friendly service”
The hotel is conveniently located a short walk to the Night Market where you can get great fresh seafood. There are also a few good restaurants on the walk to the Night Market if you aren't feeling adventurous enough for street food. The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating, even after we had to ask for a key to the room several times in two days. There is a hotel desk at the Phu Quoc airport and they quickly arranged for a car for us to the hotel even though we didn't have one set up. Overall, we had a great experience at Thien Hai Son and would recommend it.

Old school luxury on a beautiful island. ”
we stayed here to treat ourselves to a nice resort during our trek of se asia. it was nice resort but for the money i expected a little more in terms of aesthetics. the staff made up for and the food was absolutely fantastic. the beach is nice but very narrow and chairs fill up quickly. phu quoc has a lot of beauty all over the island from the secret beaches, fishing ports, pepper plantations and the fish market.

Great beach resort”
We really enjoyed our 5 nights at Thien Hai Son. The hotel has it's own stretch of beach which was never crowded. Our standard room had everything one needs and was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a large variety of "western" and vietnamese food. The staff was always friendly and helpful.

Really nice resort with private beach”
We were pleasantly surprised by this resort. We were only searching for a place to stay relatively close to Duong Dong but in the city itself but we found so much more at this resort. The private beach is really nice and so is the resort itself, even if it's a bit older. Our room was quite spacious and literally 10 meters from the beach. The breakfast is nice although you do have to wake up for it as it ends at 9am which I found to be quite early. Do arrange your transfer from the airport early on so the hotel has the time to respond. Overall, highly recommended.

Thien Hai Son during Tet”
Overall really good, we all had a wonderful time. We stayed in a beach front bungalow for 6 nights mid Feb which was in a prime location right on the beach, which was very clean & really lovely at sunset. The rooms were tidy & cleaned daily, though the pillows & mattresses were hard, the bathroom tiling was very shoddy & some of the power points were a bit dodgy. Breakfast left a lot to be desired as it seems to cater more towards local tourists (even cornflakes would of been appreciated). We only had 1 dinner at the resort, a meal on the beach which was very average, but there are many other good places close by & an easy walk/scooter to town to many other restaurants/bars. All the buildings in the resort are tastefully decorated, particularly the Stalinist style main building. As above the pool is stunning with a life guard on duty (he responded instantly to 1 young girl who seemed in trouble) & the location/setting/grounds/local beach are all beautiful. While the resort is clean, much of the rest of Phu Quoc is pretty filthy, particularly the plastic bags & polystyrene lying everywhere. Travelling anywhere in Vietnam during Tet can be trying but staying at Thien Hai Son was a great start to a wonderful holiday.

A pretty decent hotel”
we chose this hotel because we saw some previous comments saying their breakfast is amazing. the breakfast was not as good as those in 5stars hotel but was good in general and had pretty much choices. we were glad tht the hotel had organized a barbecue christmas party for all customers at the christmas eve night. it was free (including drinks) ! we enjoyed tht a lot. our experience in the hotel is quite okay on general. there was no elevator but it was okay for us coz it is a three-storey hotel and not lots of steps to walk. the only thing we would like to complain is. the unstable electricity and hot water though it seemed tht most of the hotel in fu quoc island were encountering this problem.

You Won't Regret It!”
We stayed here for our Christmas holidays just recently and I can honestly say the resort met and exceeded all of my expectations. We'd seen a couple of these resorts out in Thailand and this year thought why not, let's give a beach holiday a try. The room we had was in the hotel and was more than adequate to our needs. The friendly staff were always helpful and went out of their way to resolve any issues we encountered. The pool was fantastic although the steep changes in gradient mean that you really would need to supervise your kids. On a few lazy occasions, we had lunch from the restaurant brought to the pool which was fantastic. Similarly, dining on our loungers whilst watching the ocean was amazing! The food in the bar was passable but I thought the Vietnamese food was far superior to the 'western food'. I had the Aussie steak and it was less than impressive. However, every Vietnamese dish was excellent that we tried. The beach was clean and well maintained and carried a good atmosphere. All in all, we left the resort wishing we could remain there longer. I'd recommend it!

A great location ”
Rooms are a bit dated but it added to the character - renovations are happening. Plenty of beach chairs and nice swimming in front. Many reviews say hotel caters for Vietnamese people more but I found it geared to Russian tourists who need to learn some manners! Breakfast was average but adequate - plenty of choices . Pool looked very clean but not much shade . Would stay again especially for the price

Completely Overrated!”
This place was completely overrated and not worth the money. The food was not very good and quite expensive. No one at the resort was very helpful and few of the staff were actually able to help locate places that were not part of the trendy Phu Quoc Island. Much of what we did was due to our own research and initiative. The bungalow concept is a good one, except that these bungalows are very outdated and could use some serious upgrades. In addition, the staff needed to be instructed to use cleaning agents when cleaning the bathroom. This is not what I was expecting at all. If I do return to Phu Quoc Island, this will be the absolute last place I would consider staying. Save the money and look for something that actually deserves 4 stars!

Bungalows better than rooms, very efficient service”
Do not bother staying in the main building. We booked a room in main building, arrived and weren't impressed as it smelt strongly of cigarette, was up 3 flights of stairs as no lift and quite small for 3 people, so we upgraded to a bungalow. The bungalow was great,it was clean, comfortable, spacious with an excellent view to the waters' edge with lovely gardens all around. The beds were adequate but not super comfortable being foam. The hotel is dated, it is in a time warp and still stuck in the 1970's, the furnishings, curtains, restaurant, tableclothes etc. are still original from the 1970's but have been cleaned and maintained. If you look close you notice things like the tiles around the pool are faded and mouldy grout, in fact everything is faded but the pool is still nice for the kids and very usable. The location is fantastic, close to restaurants and a short walk to the main town and night markets. The service is great, only a few staff speak proper english so sometimes communicating needs was slightly strained, but they are efficient and friendly. The breakfasts are Vietnamese style with toast and fried eggs the only option for fussy Australian children such as mine! I recommend the Seafood Pancake for breakfast, very nice! The restaurant service was super quick always with a smile. The airport transfer service was great, we landed and were at the hotel within 20 minutes. The bungalow was clean, the staff efficient and friendly which is all you can ask of a 3 star accomodation. I would return here but only stay in a bungalow and perhaps bring my own pillow!

great location”
we had a great stay at the thien hai son resort. rooms were very spacious and very clean. the location was great, situated within walking distance of the town area. also the beach was great and the best one in that area. the beach was deep as opposed to other resorts that had barely room for a sun bed and a sharpe drop off to the water.
