Generally Outstanding”

My husband and I went to Penang to savor both the Nyonya history, architecture and the food. Staying at the St. Giles Wembley provided us with a perfect base to do all that and more. There was a slight problem checking in as they lady said she could not find our reservation but when she referred to another clerk, he was able to find it and gave us a room that met our special request--non-smoking, quiet part of the hotel, twin beds, near the elevator, etc. Their breakfast offerings were quite extensive but I noted that their porridge was allowed to get cold. When I brought this to the attention of a staff member, he quickly brought one of the cooks out, they brought the porridge back to the kitchen, obviously heated it up and then brought it out again. I noticed that they kept an eye on it during the time we were having our breakfast. The property is obviously brand-new because everything in our room and, I suspect, most of the hotel, was spotless. I guess the hotel administrators do not expect too many business people to stay there as they do not have a business center. However, if they want to host meetings and conferences, they may want to rethink this decision. All in all, it was a wonderful stay. I will recommend this to friends and relatives. If their price remains competitive, my husband and I will be back.

I was traveling here with my fiancé, on more of a personal business and work holiday. I chose the St Goles Wembley based on their wifi connection as I work online, and this was the no. 1 important factor for me. Their wifi was great, and I had zero troubles, which made my travel stay even that much easier. The location is really great, within walking distance to all the local Georgetown icons. And I must say, the staff really make this place. From our housekeeping staff (Ranil) to the staff at the breakfast buffet, to all the staff members in the lobby and outside the hotel, everyone was really pleasant and always attentive. Great job from everyone at the St Giles Wembley, I will definitely be booking my stay here again if in in Penang again.

The best hotel for the money worth”

The best hotel as far as i have been so far in penang. We have been coming to penang seeking medical help and we have tried other hotels but so far, i am not going to change my stay at St Giles Wembley for the future as we still have to visit penang again. The people from the restaurant especially the assistant manager, Mr. saw and his collegue Taya along with the other had made our meal very easy as my wife is on a very strict diet whish was an issue every time we have to travel abroad. I must say every time we have to dine, they made us feel as if we were in our home. Thank St Giles Wembley.

A wonderful stay with Wembley St Giles”

A very well-located hotel with top quality staff members who were all so professional in their dealings with us. We stayed for 2 nites and it was all worth it. The reception desk staff were great and so helpful. We were given the higher floors with sea view as per our request. The room was very clean and spacious and came together with complimentary bottle water and coffee/tea facilities. Our only regret was that we didn't get to use many of the facilities as we were out and about most of the time - there's so much to do and see in Penang day and night. I would strongly recommend Wembley St Giles. Also our dealings with Agoda was easy and effortless. Thank you.

Super convenient to go to all the famous food stall in Georgetown & near the shopping Malls. Plus point is all the staff at The Wembley - A St Giles super friendly & very approached. My toddler is happy to get all the attention & have lots of popcorn & lollipops from the staff. Definitely stay at The Wembley again if we come to Penang again.

Smooth 5 minutes check in process. Nice and cosy Deluxe Room deco. Everything in room still new. Comfortable bed. Huge TV. Big toilet with seperate shower stall and bath tub. If arriving during peak hours, road leading to hotel could get a little congested. But once reached hotel, ample parking space on the multistorey parking levels. More convenient to ride the Free Hop On Hop Off CAT bus at Komtar bus stop just across the road. CAT bus route covers most touristy areas of Georgetown. Enjoyed the stay at St Giles Wembley hotel.

I stayed here for 2 nights, the facility of Hotel was Great, location so strategic, lot of stores, supermarket and food stall nearby. Just opposite hotel, is a mall. Nice experience stay in The Wembley - A St Giles Hotel Penang.

Good location hotel with conveniences right at the door step”

I always thought that staying in a hotel right in the city center would have to compromise with the staff services or facilities provided unless you pay a sky high rate. Wembley St Giles proved me wrong ! The hotel staff are well trained, and the facilities provided such as the Gym, Swimming Pool and Spa in the hotel are good enough to keep you busy. Even the personal note from the housekeeping staff that was handwritten and left on the bed touched my heart. Great job to the management team ! I surely will come back and stay with you again !

Everything about this hotel was terrific. I didn't expect it to be so good. I was disappointed that the hotel didn't notify me beforehand that their pool was out of use. I was given a valid reason for this but would have thought that the hotel would have refunded some money or given guests a free meal as compensation. I used the limo service and although I kept telling the woman driver NOT to take me to coffee/chocolate shops etc she did it anyway. St Giles Wembley would be better not to use this company. Calvin and Nicholas at reception and HS Saw and the Executive Chef were just wonderfully inviting.

I had read good reviews about St Giles on the website and was pleased that it did not disappoint me. I spoke to the staff in advance about staying next to my sis-in-law and family plus it had to be on a high with a nice view. I also requested an extra bed in the deluxe room. The staff at St Giles were very helpful especially Venice from the Reservation Department, made sure these personal requests were met. I am very impressed with her prompt emails and professionalism. The breakfast had quite a wide selections too. The Wi-fi in the rooms were strong. Taxis are also available daily at the hotel. Good location. Highly recommended! We will be back again.

The hotel rooms are exactly like the ones at The Boulevard (also under St. Giles) in KL. That is a good thing. However, the Wembley's gym is quite sparsely equipped as compared to The Boulevard. I hope they will invest more into putting more equipment in the gym such as the bench for doing bench press plus more weights option. Everything else was pretty much the same. I would definitely stay again as the hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of Georgetown and the price is very competitive.

New hotel, good location”

I trusted the brand of St Giles. I stayed in their Boulevard hotel last Dec in KL. Their breakfast has lots of variety. The one in Penang, just opened maybe a month ago, so everything still new, bed very comfy & every corner of the room is clean. It's a business hotel I must said, but the location very good really in the middle of the town. Only that the swimming pool area are very flat, gym a bit small compare to Boulevard pool & gym. But I definitely will stay back again if I go to Penang.

How would i compare between Jen Hotel and st gail wemberly? After staying here same room type excutive suites with club access. I would prefer Jen hotel. If you want a bathtub, all jen rooms on a club levels has bathtub whereas wemberly executive superior does not. 5 stars and friendly staff on the club lounge, young people with a good attitude for good customer service. I got told off on the ground floor by the restarant staff because i went to seat in their brand new seating areas, to me if they dont want guest to seat there yet they should have signs advising areas not ready yet for seating. Anyway did not bother me but goes to show they still need improvement when come to hospitality. Get uber or grab app, so cheap to get around places eg. By grab to penang hills OR botanic garden cost 8MYR. Airport to hotel 23MYR. Be expected this hotel does not have anyone to help you with luggage or give you a welcome greetings i didnt care and i prefer to will my luggage myself. If you are a guest wanting that kind of service, be aware that this hotel does not provide such service. I arrived midnight, the security guard just talk amoungst themselves. I stay here 5nights and try to interact with hotel staff minimum as possible except for club lounge staff they are wonderful. If the price is right and cheaper than Jen hotel for the club rooms i would stay here again. Level 30 skybar not part of the hotel business indepently owned, be aware its not cheap if you want a drink or two. I already have a drink earlier in the hotel club lounge and decided to checked out the skybar you need to order a drink otherwise they wont let you in to see the views. Fair enough business is business

Worth every dollar”

St Giles Hotel staff are a helful bunch. This is my second time staying in this hotel. I requested a mountain view but they said a sea view will be another great option. Later, I found out why as I stayed in a deluxe room last year and the mountain view will be totally blocked by some constructions that was going on had I insisted . They were very considerate and explained to me that only superior rooms will have the sea view. It was raining during my stay and I requested to borrow an umbrella and they were able to loan me one. My husband was also feeling unwell and he ordered porridge and they called up to know if the porridge tasted alright. Great service.

Great and Worth the money”

We found our perfect hideout hotel in penang which is the Wembley! and we even extended our holiday for one more night. We got a deluxe bedroom with king bed. Pro The room is spacious and nice enough for two. We can see the KOMTAR building from our window which is a nice view + I can see the sea and bridge as well which is cool. Got bath tub and shower, and love love the bath shower gel, I love the classic smell of hotel bubble bath that I used to smell when I was young plus with additional green tea smell which is great. Love the chocolate brownies with ice cream, I ordered for the in-dining room service - two nights in a row. that's how good the brownies is. i wish the brownies are bigger tho. yum. oh and the best of all, the omellete i got during breakfast for the first night was awesome. The chef uncle, gave me a lot of cheese as I asked and make it wiggle wiggle . its so good, and it put my faith back in the presence of good omelete. Cons Because the hotel is beside the main road, so sometimes it can be a bit loud- as in you can hear car sounds. not too loud, but its apparent enough. Toilet shower is quite weak. Unless you use the shower in the bath tub, which will then lead to wet floor. My last day of breakfast was spoilt, coz the awesome chef uncle was not there, and the younger replacement really put a downer on my omelete faith. it was quite bad, the eggs not runny, its just not properly cooked, the outside is a bit burnt tho.. lulz. but i guess it depends on your luck, maybe he's learning. I guess having a great omelette really need luck for me. Anyway overall, it was a great stay, and worth my money. Thank you

I had a bad hotel experiece in langkawi before i came here. I felt so relieved when me and my partner arrived here to St Giles Wembley. Love how fast we get to check in but the room wasn't what we choose. They actually make a really quick change of room for us which is perfect. Breakfast is great too. Love the view from the room. Would definely come back here again.

Superior Twin - Clean Room with Comfy Beds ”

Love the location as it's near old Georgetown and less than 10 minutes ride to Gurney area. Night eateries - Lorong Baru and Lebuh Kimberley (10 mins walk) and supermarket (5 mins walk) are nearby. My son loves to watch night movies, First Avenue is 2 mins walk away hence is safe and short distance to walk back to hotel after night movie. I always stay in Wembley whenever I visit Penang. The lap pool and gym are still new and clean - enjoyed the eat and workouts.

Comfortable and Clean”

I have stayed at St Giles Wembley before and just like my first visit the hotel did not disappoint me. Only something to take note the floor of the Cupboard was a bit dusty and under the bed as well. I travel to Penang very often and I have stayed at various hotels in Georgetown but St Giles Wembley is the only hotel that I have stayed more than once.

Great stay”

It was a great stay at St. Giles Wembley. Only thing that I'm not satisfied with is the aircond switching. Once we accidentally turned of the master switch, the aircond is switched off as well. Had to manually turned the aircond back on. It would be great if the master switch in the room does not disturb the aircond. Other than that, everything there is wonderful.
