Very Accessible; Value for Money; With Light Breakfast”

We stayed for one night at The Strand Suites and Dormitel and we had a SUPERB stay! The place is very accessible, near Abreeza Mall and Victoria Plaza. It's also just a few blocks away from well-known fast food chains and tgere are even restaurants in the neighborhood. The place is very clean anf their staff is very accommodating. The room that I've booked has twin beds and it looks exactly the same as the posted photos. There were slippers inside the room (totally convenient!) and they also have hot shower. The room is spacious for two people and has a lamp shade in case you need it. They offer a free light breakfast, which is coffee and a single bread with filling, though I suggest that they give their customers an option of either having coffee or hot chocolate or juice. I highly recommend this place 💗

Have a few things we noticed on the property. The door on were we stayed at (205) had a small space in between the sides of the door so a person from the outside could actually peek through it and see you inside. What we did was to cover it with a cloth just so no one can peek through. Bathroom It would be great if the windows near the shower has some curtains, cause I feel like someone will peek through it anytime. Also they don’t have a door separating the shower area and the toilet. They do have a small divider in between those areas, but there’s no door attached to it. No big deal though, just be very careful when taking a bath so that water won’t be all over the toilet area. The hot shower takes a couple of minutes before you could actually enjoy it. Outside Noises You can hear everything! Lol I don’t mind it though cause I can still sleep even with it. Bed The bed is okay, but I eventually get burried overnight. Lol. The other bed is okay though. Maybe it’s just mine. We booked a twin room btw. The sheet is thin, but I’m fine with it since I just have to turn the ac on high so I won’t get cold that much. Furniture The cabinet’s door handle is broken. Again, I don’t mind. They have a TV, but most of the channels are not available. They don’t have netflix. Btw, they don’t have an elevator as well. The staff are there to help you with your luggages though so it was not a big deal for me. I just think of the stairs as my exercise hehe. A lot of the things I mentioned are okay with me, but I wanted to mention all these just so the people who are reading reviews will know what they’ll experience. A Small Simple Budget Boutique Hotel in the Heart of Davao City”

The property is situated in the middle of Davao City. It is located in the Poblacion District. It is less than 400 meters away the busy thoroughfare of JP Laurel Ave. near Victoria Plaza Mall. It's just near most of the city's tourist attractions. At first, the hotel was a little hard for the taxi driver to locate because it's inside a village and it's kinda new. The property is pleasant in it's glorious white paint. It's well secured by a CCTV system. The staffs were friendly, polite and helpful. The doorman even acts like a concierge to help us with our needs like transportation. The room were very clean as with its bathroom. It has a cable equipped LCD TV. Also has wifi. Bathroom has heater. Probably the only downside of the property is the lack of elevator. Our room is at 4th floor. Having a baby with us. It's hard to go up the steep flight of stairs. Breakfast was basic with egg sandwich & coffee. But no complaints for budget conscious travelers like us. Not bad for 1,200/night.

Cheap accommodation if you're a budget traveller. Newly opened dormitel near the main highway - there are near fastfood chains and restaurants like the famous Penong's barbeque and seafood grill. May 7eleven, korean restau, coffee shops, chowking, even a food park. Near Victoria Plaza. wala lang elevator, nasa 4th flr kami but they are willing to help with your baggage. Pwede mo ring iwan muna your things sa room nila near the reception kung gabi pa flight mo and u still want to roam around the city because 12nn ang checkout. Bun with egg and 3 in 1 coffee ang free breakfast, sana maging rice meal na. Mababait ang staff. wala lang telephone sa room for services and inquiries kaya you have to go down para kausapin sila. Hndi okay ung floor sa cr, nagbuibuild up ang water and ayaw maclose ung door ng cr namin. But overall experience, this is a good place to stay in. Minor problems lang nmn.

I think that aside from the room I stayed at, the best thing about this hotel is its staff. The staff is very accommodating, respectful and helpful even before I have already checked in, they have been responsive in my queries. They always greet whenever I go down for breakfast and whenever I return from my business. Definitely they're one of the people I'll miss there at Davao. As for the facilities, I think this can be improved on like putting of thicker blankets or comforters since their aircon units are well kept and does the job well. Mini fridge can also be added especially if the fridge downstairs is full. As for the food, I really like the cheesy egg pandesal. Other food can be added or mini restaurant can be considered too since I think the Ate who prepares our breakfast cooks well too. Will definitely go back.

Worth the penny”

Overall stay was superb, the hotel was clean, the location was okay, it was located in executive subdivision of Doña Vicenta so it was ultra safe and so many restaurants nearby and there is Victoria Plaza few meters away. The room was spacious, however there are small yet important thing needs to consider - no table near the bed, put at least 3 hangers in the cabinet coz there is only 1, sabitan ng damit sa wall, and breakfast at least rice meal, coz we had burger and egg only. Anyways, receptionist was very polite and having a very nice costumer service though, 5 stars for Ate. Indeed Davao - Life Is Here.

I think this through if sharing my experience in this property would be really helpful to others. So I believe in some ways it will. I booked my reservations for 3nights last October for our family travel in November and I made a few requests during my booking. I also reminded them about my requests few days before our arrival in Davao and they approved. To my surprise, none of my requests were facilitated in the property when we checked in. It seems that I don't make requests at all. They just arranged the room when we arrived, same time - same day. I was upset of course, we were tired that night and we wanted to relax na. Supposedly it was our birthday gift to my mama, that trip is our birthday gift to my mama. I was disappointed. But the staff handled the situation very well. They accepted their mistakes and gave me 10%refund. And hey their pandesal is delicious and a heavy one! I brought 30pcs back to Manila. I have no complaints, worth the money. I'll definitely stay here again.

Great decision that I chose to book this hotel, the place is right in the heart of Davao. Near airport, Roxas night market, Bangkerohan, Peoples Park. The staff were so courteous and accomodating. The room has everything we need for our 2 days stay. They also have slippers in the room which is a plus plus for me. I will definitely book this place again once we visit Davao.

The place is very neat and clean. The room is spacious for 2 people. The location is near Victoria Mall (walking distance) and 1 ride away from Gaisano Mall. There are restaurants and convenient stores nearby. The wifi is really fast! :) I am satisfied with my overall experience and will surely recommend this dormitel to friends. The Strands is still new, so you can expect the cleanliness of the rooms. My family is very particular with the CR. The CR is clean and well maintained, and with hot shower too. You can ask the staff for a daily room make-over. The best part is it has wifi access in every room, you can post your travel photos immediately ;)

the past reviews were correct. their rooms were clean and white. The staff was friendly. They have water in their pantry whenever you are thirsty. no problem with just bread and coffee. I love their breads. I will stay again here when I return to davao.

My 2nd stay and as usual the place was clean and the staff were friendly & polite. I was surprised the receptionist remembered me. :) However, the breakfast hasn't improved at all. The breakfast we had the first time I stayed with my family was better than this time around. But we brought some food so not much of a problem. I'd definitely book again as this has become my preferred hotel in Davao.

The 1st thing I notice is the cleanliness of the place. Very quiet and neat. The room good for two is spacious enough. The bathroom is clean and has a hot& cold shower. The WIFI is excellent, super fast! The FREE breakfast is good (bread and your choice of drink- good enough for something FREE). Within the area are different establishments from a salon, laundry shop, convenient store, and food stalls. This is highly recommended and I will surely go back! Thank you the Strand!

I checked in here for 2 nights and I didn't regret my decision. Comfortable and sparkly clean room, nice breakfast and very very attentive and courteous staff. I don't usually make reviews but this one's worth it. My only concern is the telephone at the 4th floor(beside room 401) because it's not working. I hope they will fix it soon so that the guests from the 4th flr doesn't have to go up and down multiple times if they have minor concerns since the building has no elevator yet. But all in all, I will give this a rate of 5 stars. Will check in here again in the future.

I can not judge the location as I am not familiar with Davao, but all we needed was within a short walk. The room and bed was clean also a small breakfast was included which was a bonus. (food maybe is not for everyone's taste) To us it was a good place to stay. To me personally the cleanness is high on my list and the place excelled in this regard.
