Very nice rooms, quiet location”

nice room

I stayed here because it's in Chaweng Noi and I wanted to distance myself a bit from the noise and seediness of central Chaweng. The room was very nice, but it turns out Chaweng Noi was maybe a bit too removed. Getting a cab into town is no problem; it's only 10 minutes. Also, there's complimentary shuttle service. But the place really is geared more toward families and couples. If you are in one of those two things, this place is great. Especially couples. One caveat, though: Sarann is set up in 3 rows of guest buildings that parallel the beach. You want to be in the row along the water. Failing that, be in the second row. If you are in the last row, you are backed up against the road. You don't want this, because the noise from the traffic really detracts from the otherwise serene setting. If you want something in between total chaos and pure serenity, you might look at something closer in to Chaweng that's not right in the middle of it. In my limited experience, Chaweng Noi may be a bit too serene, especially if you're a solo traveler. Staff at Sarann, like practically everyone I've met in Thailand, was very friendly.

Two Thumbs Up!”

Privacy, Pool Villas, Beach

Both my wife and I totally enjoyed our 6 day stay at The Sarann in Chaweng Noi. Quiet, peaceful & serene...far from the madding crowd of Chaweng Beach. The pool villa we opted for was great. We had the privacy we wanted with our own pool to soak in. The view from our villa is simply breathtaking. All the rooms and villas are perched on the rocky end of Chaweng Noi. Just a few steps from the hotel is a beautiful stretch of beach. Breakfast spread was adequate but it got tired after the 2nd day. Variations in the daily breakfast buffet offerings would have been a welcome. There is a tour/travel desk in the entrance area. We rented a scooter from them. It's cheap and great means of transport. Chaweng beach is about a 5 minute ride. We would stay here again for sure...unless we want to try another part of Samui when we return. Highly Recommended! * there is a roadside noodle shop about a 3 minute ride away. It's located next to the Family Mart at the first turning to Chaweng beach after leaving The Sarann. Operational hours are around 5pm - wee hours of the morning. One of the best noodles I have had!

The Cherry on top of our Thailand trip!”

Private Jacuzzi, Location, Atmosphere, Staff

Ever since we set foot in the Sarann, we couldn't stop saying "WOW!" The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, picturesque. We booked a Jacuzzi Suite through Agoda and were upgraded to a Jacuzzi Villa which was beautiful!! I am not sure where people that have reviewed here got the impression of disrepair or "cheesy" furniture - everything about our room was top notch. And the bed was huge and so comfy!!! And having a private, outdoor jacuzzi was romantic and wonderful! The breakfast is the best we had in Thailand - eggs made to order and I thought the poached were actually quite good! The baked selections and noodles and rice varied slightly every day, but the quality was the same. The service is impeccable and attentive - we took advantage of the wonderful cocktails each day at happy hour, and ate at the restaurant 2 out of the 3 nights were were there - it was slightly pricier than the restaurants on the beach but soooooooo delicious!! The infinity pool is small but perfect and has a magnificent view of the sea and the island. The hotel has a free shuttle service into Chaweng twice each day, we took it once, spent an hour in Chaweng and then walked back through the beach which was long but nice. I cannot tell you how happy I was with my choice to stay outside of Chaweng!!! If you are there as a couple, the R & R is priceless and it's very easy to get into town. There is not a private beach because it's set up on rocks - but you walk down some steps and you are on the lovely white beach of Samui where you can either put down the towels they provide you with or stroll to one of the resorts or cafes and use their chairs.

The Sarann - Koh Samui Thailand”

This Hotel is Beautiful. Very Natural, friendly and peaceful. Sea View pool Villa was EXACTLY as described on the website and was picture perfect, with a private pool and amazing view. Its on the water so walk to the beach is quick and easy.
Could have had more selection for the Buffet breakfast - but when your actually there none of that matters with the view you have!

This resort is the best I have ever stayed in. Its location is perfect and staff are very friendly and accomodating. The resort has a free shuttle service that takes you into the centre of Chaweng shopping district, which is very handy as a taxi will cost you about 200Bht. Shopping is really good in Koh Samui - better than phuket in terms of quality and a bit cheaper so buy things there dont wait to get to phuket. I would reccommend the Sarann Hotel to anyone that wants a romantic holiday in Koh Samui. It was an experience I will never forget. A+ I cannot rave about it more. Pool is beautiful.

Memorable Stay At The Sarann!!!”

Beautiful room and bathroom, spacious balcony, great view from the pool, healthy breakfast, wonderful place for couples!
Occasional noise from traffic (but that's not much of a problem actually)

My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate our anniversary at Koh Samui and we are definitely not disappointed by our stay at The Sarann! The staff are super friendly and attentive, as they would bother to bring us ice-water when we were tanning by the pool. The room is spacious and we really like the open bathroom concept. Although ours was not a sea-view room, we could still see some part of the sea from our cool balcony. When we first arrived, the driver actually told us that it is a bad place to stay as there are many rocks in front of the hotel. He said he could recommend another hotel if we changed our mind but of course we didn't. Well, what he said is true but that is not a problem at all because the sandy beach is only a few minutes away from the hotel. So do not be influenced by what other people say about the rocks, or else you will miss a great opportunity to stay at The Sarann!

Beautiful, serene, helpful staff
Restaurant could use a bit of improvement in terms of operations, but they did try very hard and the food was good when we finally got it!

After two months in southeast Asia, Sarann was definitely the best hotel that we stayed at. The hotel upgraded us to an amazing suite with an outdoor jacuzzi and that and the other amenities (DVD players in-room, great wifi in-room and computers for guest use, etc.) ensured that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the fact that it rained most days we were in Koh Samui. My only complaint about the restaurant - we had a few issues when we ordered room service and the egg orders were slow coming in the morning at breakfast, but the staff did everything they could to correct the problem and the food was great once we got it. The location isn't great for people who want to go out every night, but we rented a motorbike and had a great time exploring in both directions and retiring to our amazing and relaxing room.

Nice botique style hotel near Chaweng Beach”

Isolated, clean rooms and bathroom, nice facilities

The Sarann hotel is a nice botique style hotel with town-house type villas near Chaweng beach. The hotel itself is not located on the beach but it's perched atop a small hillside overlooking Chaweng Noi (Small Chaweng) beach. You can easily access the beach from stairs that lead down to the beachside, so if you desire to be RIGHT ON the beach, this may not be for you. But if you desire some exclusivity - a resort isolated from the rest of the beach crowds, this hotel is perfect. The villas are laid out in 3 parallel rows along the hillside, so unless you have a villa on the first row overlooking the beach, you will NOT have any ocean view. Despite this, the rooms were clean and facilities decent. Big clean bathroom with large jacuzzi type bath tub. Free internet/wifi in room. Only 20 minutes from Samui airport. If you don't need to be on the beach, this is a great hotel that still offers access to the beach.

best room

really a very lovely and confortable hotel, the room is perfect, big bed, two bathtubs. And even the staff there are very kind and nice. Although it is located in Chaweng Noi Beach, it takes 20 min from Chaweng Noi Beach to Chaweng Beach, but I am still glad to stay there for 8 days. Next time, I will choose Sarann again.

Small, cozy, stylish, beautiful rooms, good breakfast, nice people, close to beach
Make sure receptionists understand what you're saying in English.

We travel a lot and have a possibility to copmpare hotels. The Sarann is a wonderful place to stay at. Very stylish, modern, at the same time very cozy and charming. We stayed at jacuzzi suite and enjoyed it! The hotel is situated some 100 meters from one of the Samui view points - beautiful place. Breakfast was perfect in our opinion- everything was there: from traditional "eggs and bakon" to thai noodles, rice and smth else. Girls at the reception were very helpful, yet sometimes we had to repeat our enquires more than once to make sure they understand us :). The beach is only 20 meters away, there also are beach restaurants and thai massage. Would really love to come back to "the Sarann" again!!

we decided to move to chaweng noi for a quiter life and we chose the sarann after paying a visit. the hotel is famous for its pool which indeed is good. its really nice to spend the afternoon by the pool or in the pool and you can also enjoy the sea. the jacuzzi suite is fairly big but as its along the main road, its is a bit noisy at night. would recommond jacuzzi villa which is located more away from the noise. the restuarant is along the rocks, very good view. the hotel is far away from the center so we have to dine in the hotel but the food is really good and view is awesome. the only pity is that we only stayed on night, so cannot enjoy more !!

Beautiful hotel. Gorgeous rooms. Great breafast. Friendly staff. Huge bathroom and tub! Beautiful pool. Easy access to the beach.
Low water pressure in the rooms.

Wow! What a beautiful place. We looked at many hotels online before choosing the Sarann, and we were more than pleasantly surprised. The hotel is beautiful, and sits on a rock area of the beach....I actually enjoyed that. The have a beautiful infinity pool that overlooks the ocean, and you can directly access the sand beach from the hotel deck. The rooms are really spacious. We chose a lower priced room, but could still see the ocean from the room. The breakfast is fantastic. It is not a buffet, but you can order what you like from the menu. The offer fresh fruit, and juices. And the banana pancakes with honey are amazing. Don't be fooled by the picture though. The picture shows three large pancakes, and you actually receive two small ones.....but you can order more. Trust me, we did! Start your evening with 1/2 price Mai Tais on the deck. You can watch the action at the surrounding beach front restaurants, listen to the ocean and watch people send off the small hot air ballons that the area seems to be famous for. We ate dinner from our deck chairs one evening. Everything was delicious, and the staff was extremelley friendly. They stayed after the closing time for the restaurant to make sure if we required anything. Do not leave the hotel without trying the tuna carpaccio. We ate it three nights in a row!

Fantastic brand new resort in Chaweng Noi”

Brand new resort, officially opening in Oct. Spacious and tastefully decorated. Great staff and great location. The restaurant had some of the best food we had in Koh Samui
If you want to be in the thick of Chaweng, then this location is not going to suit you but is only 200 baht to get to the main shopping area. It is a 10 minute drive away.

We had such a great time at The Sarann and it exceeded our expectations. It was brand new and we were upgraded to a suite with a king bed, a shower with two nozzles, a spa bath, a separate lounge, a covered patio, our own pool and suite over-looking the sea. The food was great and the staff were really nice. In terms of the location, it was perfect for us. Chaweng Noi is close to Chaweng but is without the stench and has a better beach that is less crowded and developed. If you want a party area, then this isn't it but it was perfect for us.

Amazing hotel for honeymoon”

Great rooms, located in a nice area

We ordered a standard room with a king size bed, and got free upgrade for the deluxe room with the jacouzy - which was great! The room was all adorned with scattered roses on the bed with the word 'LOVE' put together, they didn't miss the hot tub also. The hotel is located in the more luxurious part of the Chaweng beach - Chaweng Noi, which is quieter, and cleaner than Chaweng Yai. The restaurants on the the beach were expensive compared to the prices in the area. The hotel has a nice infinity pool, but the pool area is tiny, with only a few available sun beds, sometimes it was annoying. The breakfast was dreamy compared to other hotels we've been to.

The Sarann is really a nice new boutique hotel in Chaweng Noi beach. We love the large bed with comfy pillows and very nice clean sheets and comforter. The bath tub, shower, and walkin closet are in an open area connected to the bedroom. The Bath products are really nice quality aroma therapy type. Breakfast is superp! Pool is a bit Tiny, but very nice view of the beach.

Sarann Escape”

Great views and position
Service could be a little better but it wasn't too bad

I really liked the Sarann as it has one of the best views looking back on to Chaweng Noi and Cheweng Beach. I really enjoyed the brerakfast even though I read not so good reports in reviews. I thought it was great. The rooms with the pools are great and they gave me an excellent rate as my booking changed

Cozy clean comfortable friendly 5-star”

Friendly staffs, clean room, infinity pool, gym, breakfast

It was very good and memorable. Our room was very clean and well maintained. They have free shuttle to Chaweng town two times a day: in the morning (I think at 10am) and 4pm. The staffs are incredibly friendly and attentive. I had to check out at 4am to catch my flight and had the staff to print out my boarding pass for F.O.C ! High speed 24 hrs WiFi. There were plenty of varieties for breakfast at the cafe facing the beautiful beach. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Sarann Hotel

a good choice”

good service, very clean rooms, nice pool, bathroom is the best.
the beach of the hotel is not very nice. It is dirty and not very friendly. Sometimes you have to walk long distances to your house and also to other restaurants. The Jacuzzi makes a very loud noise. Compared to other offers the spa is very expensive. Also I couldn't find a fitness center.

The hotel was a very good choice. Compared to the cheap price it is the best place to stay in Koh Samui. The place of the hotel is not very good because you have a long way to walk to the main road and to the nightlife of koh samui. The personal of the hotel is very friendly and courteous. Also the view from the pool is fantastic. The little houses are very nice and cultivated. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is one of the best I've ever seen. Although it makes very loud noises the jacuzzi is very nice and a relaxing place. I recommend the jacuzzi suit.

Great rooms”

clean and comfortable rooms, nice bathroom and outdoor jacuzzi

Sarann Hotel doesn't have a private beach because it's on the rocks at the corner of the beach. Instead of staying on Chaweng Noi, we went to Chaweng, Lamui and Mae Nam beaches during the day so it was ok for us. We stayed at the jacuzzi suite. Room was clean, comfortable, well decorated with a private terrace (no view) and outdoor jacuzzi. I'm guessing that the front villas have great view. Breakfast wasn't so great but very friendly staff.

Fairly decent hotel, but far from the best”

Helpful staff, scenic setting, proximity to the beach

The Sarann Hotel is a semi-luxury hotel located in Chaweng Noi, which is between the two main beaches of Chaweng and Lamai. We generally enjoyed our stay here, and the staff were quite nice and helpful overall. Also, the room was quite tidy and comfortable, though it was hard to predict when it would be cleaned, as the housekeeping staff came at radically different times every day. Another problem was that our room was just next to the main Samui Ring Road, and we found that it was hard to get much peace without the roar of big trucks and other vehicles constantly going by. Also, the swimming pool is attractive, but it is located exactly next to the lobby, making it hard to get any degree of privacy at all without prying eyes always staring at you. The breakfast buffet was so-so. There is a fair variety of items on offer, but the staff tend not to replenish food unless you tell them to do so. That means that unless you get there when it first opens, you have a pretty good chance of the food you are looking for being either cold or gone entirely. All in all, this isn't a bad hotel, but I've stayed in better ones in Koh Samui for less money.

nice view, nice staff, nice facilities”

The staff are very nice, and willing to help. The facilities are good, except the shower water was not hot enough, just a little pity! but the private pool is amazing, water quality is not bad, and the view from both private pool and public swimming pool are breathe taking!! For the location, I drive, so I think it is accessible. But indeed, Chaweng Noi Beach is quite far away from Chaweng Beach, so please think about this if you do not drive. This hotel is close to Chaweng Noi Beach, where the water is very clear. overall, good!
