We were informed during check in that they were upgrading us :) from a Superior Room to a Deluxe. No charge, just an upgrade. The pretty girl in pink (I think that's from an old movie "Pretty in Pink) has been very charmingly smart with wits to tell us about the local must visit areas in Davao. I tried the hotel's dinner buffet and enjoyed both the food and the live entertainers (singer and pianist). We had a glass of wine after dinner and was pretty amazed that the waiters/waitress were very conscious of the things we might want to order or wish to have while we was enjoying my drink. Before we went back to the room, we spoke with another guy in coat and tie (I guess he is the manager that time) who was very helpful to offer if we needed a wake up call the following day. That I did asked and had him arranged our hotel to the airport transfer. Its good to know there are still people in the hotel who really we can rely on. Job well done The Royal Mandaya hotel employees. I salute you!

Great for Family Get together& Kadayawan Festival”

Excellent stay for my family members who had the best of their times during the Kadayawan Festival Celebration. They enjoyed the buffet breakfasts, the swimming pool and the entertainment offered at the lobby. Very impressive. One of the best place to be whenever there are big events in Davao City. Staff were very efficient during our stay. Local restaurants are available and within walking distance. All roads nearby were closed to public transportation during the Festival so Royal Mandaya Hotel was an excellent choice because of its location.

I was staying at a cheaper hotel just down the street and I was tired of the total disregard of its customers. So I thought for an extra approx $20 a night I would try the Royal Mandaya. Once I entered the lobby, I knew I made the right move. The customer service was excellent, even bringing me a drink at check-in for free. The room was also great with all the comforts needed for a hotel stay. The pool area was nice and relaxing also. The free breakfast in the morning was excellent with once again great customer service and a vast variety of food to choose from. Peoples Park is a 5 minute walk away and a great place for jogging, walking, picture taking, etc... I now know where I will stay everytime I will be in Davao City and I am looking forward to my next visit.

Great staff, all of them were very warm, accommodating and helpful. Location is good. 7-11 and ATM are just around the corner. The Pasalubong Center is not far from the hotel. Food was superb may it be breakfast buffet, lunch or dinner. The facilities in the room and pool are quite old but since we were only in Davao City for a short period, we didnt really mind. But maybe thats something they should improve on. Other than that, all's good in The Royal Mandaya and we would definitely go back here should we visit again Davao. #recommended

Easily the Best Hotel in which I have stayed”

I have been overseas on nearly 50 occasions & this is the 28th country, I have visited. The Royal Mandaya is easily the best hotel, in which I have stayed. The helpful, friendly & smiling staff go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. They assisted with setting up my internet on their Wi-fi (free), getting the television up & running, burning some DVD's from my cam, room service is excellent. I dont normally condone tipping, but I found myself so pleased with their efforts that I gladly showed my appreciation in that manner. I will be returning to Davao & it is a given I will be making a reservation at the Mandaya.

I stayed at the Royal Mandaya for 4 nights. This hotel impressed me. While the hotel can benefit from better surroundings, you forget all that once you enter the lobby. It is clean, spacious, fresh. But the strength of the Mandaya is really in its staff - from the guards, to the doormen, to the reception, to everyone at room service. They attend to your concern with a smile and a genuine disposition to assist in every way. This is a hotel that takes care of their staff, who in turn take good care of their guests. Thank you. Next time I am back in Davao, I will make it a point to stay there.

The Hotel is very nice ..the ckeanliness, the christmas decorations is very good.the staff is super nice like they treat us like a VIP. The food is verygood too..our staying in the hotel is Perfect even we feel the hit of Earthquake..Davao is a very nice place esp. Great Hotel in Davao City Centre”

having stayed at the marco polo & apo view hotels on my last 2 trips to davao city, i found the royal mandaya to be a much better hotel at a cheaper price. didn't eat at the restaurants there, but did have room service one morning which was very reasonably priced.

Totally refurbished”

This was my first visit to Davao, and I chose the Royal Mandaya for my stay. The hotel reception is very nice, open plan restaurant, and seating area. In the evening there was live soft music, with a pianist and singer, which was most pleasant. The rooms are large (7th floor new wing), beautifully decorated, lovely bathroom with new fixtures. I found the new rooms to be most comfortable, and the location is quite central.

The royal mandaya hotel is a very relaxing place to stay.I love the way the receptionist assisted me upon arrival knowing i got so many luggages.What i love most is the view outside my window facing davao gulf area..it is such a stress relieving room.The pool is so well lighted that during night swimming its super exciting to take a plunge..

nice hotel”

It was our first time to set foot in Davao. So i have no idea which hotel to choose. while browsing in the internet looking for nice hotel which is not too expensive but not cheap type, i came across with The Royal Mandaya. The name sounds like the one we stayed in Malaysia, The Royal Chullah Hotel so i browsed the hotel pictures and features. The place seems good enough in pictures but it remains to be seen in actual, so thankful that it did;nt failed me. My friends and i have a wonderful four days and three nights stay. The room is big enough and clean. The staff were all accommodating and the price is quite reasonable. It was a nice experience staying in the The Royal Mandaya Hotel, i will look for it the next time around.

People at the royal mandaya hotel are very accommodating and amiable. There is this particular person in the hotel's restaurant at the lobby, who was very kind. He is the restaurant manager Mr. Japhet, he was so helpful and will do extra mile to give directions how to go to the different tourist spots of their place, and reassures and advises guests regarding safety issues. Food was great too!;) Room was clean. Its just that housekeeping did not give fresh towels for the next day and just left the soiled ones in the room.

One of the Best in Davao”

This was by far one of the best hotels I have seen in Davao. The hospitality, service, and cleanliness was tops for me. They reception was warm, the food was great, and the level of service was superb. Without a doubt I will be back in Royal Mandaya when I come back to Davao.

Good hotel, good location”

I stayed in Royal Mandaya Hotel for two nights. The hotel is in a sweet spot within Davao City - lots of good restaurants around, near banks, a three minute walk to People’s Park, and taxis are just around the corner. The staff are very hospitable and very courteous as well. I’ll definitely come back there!

Great Place to Stay”

Hotel Mandaya can be found near the city proper of Davao. Malls, coffee shops, bars, restaurants are near at the hotel. The hotel staffs are very courteous and wear a non ending smile on their face. They are hospitable enough treated us like VIPs. Swimming pool was clean. Kids love it! Dining was excellent. Great taste of food.

I had a great stay at the Royal Mandaya. We sponsored a conference in the hotel and was pleased with the service. They have a nice conference room that comfortably seated our 50+ guests. We had a last minute addition to the number of attendees but it was not a problem to them. The Banquet Manager, Miss Alagano, is very accommodating. Thanks!

This is a very good place to stay. It is probably one of the more upmarket hotels in Davao City but not at the same price as the top end. The staff are very pleasant and eager to please. I find that it is a pleasure staying at this hotel. when i come back to davao i will definetly stay here again. The breakfast is good also. Ok the hot stuff is Filipino and may not suit the foreigners palate like me, but considering the majority of the stayers are locals I can understand that. But there are many other items in the buffet to which will fill your breakfast needs. I am very happy with this hotel. I do recommend value for money to stay here.

though old hotel, still royal mandaya is the place for relaxation and business stop over. It has modern security features, free wifi internet, and helpful staff. Many new hotels have built recently and many are going to rise soon but this hotel will remain one of the top of the list of tourist local and foreign.
