Excellent”
Our stay at The Rees was excellent. If you are staying in Queenstown outside of skii season and are accustomed to other luxury destinations (and expect or hope Queenstown to be one as well), avoid staying in central Queenstown. It is relatively noisy and filled with hippy riff raff. If you want views, balconies, serenity and 5-star accomodation, go with The Rees. You can always hop on the hotel shuttle or $10 taxi or take a 30 minute walk along the lake into town. Activities: the hotel can organize everything. Ask Nils. Rooms: Booking through agoda or other third party providers may limit your ability to pre-select your room. I would be clear about what you want if you are looking fo something in particular and book diretly with the hotel, e.g., unobstructed views, spa baths, size of balcony, etc. The rooms are all fantastic, but they do come with their own character based on their location in the hotel.

excellent”
The Rees Hotel & Luxury Apartments is a good hotel, also apartment. The room we booked is villa for 4 people, our lake side view room faced lake wakatipu. It makes us feel relaxed and comfortable. Besides, the size of room is big with open kitchen. It is good for family and friends to gather together easily. We do feel extremely satisfied with staying in this excellent resort. We must tell our friends and family to stay here if they come to queenstown.

A Wonderful Place to Staty in Queenstown”
The Rees Hotel overlooks Lake Wakatipu and behind it the Remarkable Mountains. (That really is the name of the mountains, not my description of them). The hotel is quite new; our room was beautiful; and it had a fabulous view. The Rees was, by far, the best hotel in which we stayed on our 2.5-week trip to New Zealand. The hotel is about a five-minute drive from downtown Queenstown; but the hotel provides a shuttle bus service; there are also water taxis available; and downtown can also be reached by a lovely 40-minute walk along the lake. In one does not want to travel downtown to eat, the hotel has a gourmet restaurant with excellent food and a great wine list. Neither the hotel nor the restaurant are inexpensive, but my wife and I thought that both were a very good value for the money that we spent on them.

A Spectacular Lake View”
We arrived at Queenstown late in the evening but the staff was very helpful in getting us settled down very quickly. We were given a room that the view of the lake was blocked by other units. Hence, we decided to upgrade to a room with an unblock view of the lake. The staff was very efficicent and this was done in minutes. The hotel has an excellent location next to the lake. The sunrise is so beautiful and a morning stroll is refreshing and the view is breathtaking. It took us a few minutes to drive to the town center where you can spend the whole day in the garden or shopping. Lots of restaurants offering different types of cuisines like japanese, korean etc. Booking activities like hanggliding and jetboat is never a problem. helped us to arrange and made all the bookings for us - it was simply effortless on our part. We had a memorable stay in the Rees and in Queenstown. We look forward to coming back again.

Absolutely Fantastic”
I booked The Rees and wondered if it would live up to it's billing, especially as it is not the cheapest option in Queenstown. I am happy to say The Rees is fantastic and I came away feeling it was a bargain. We had a two bedroom lake view apartment and am pleased to say that the room, the view and the service were all fantastic - I never ate in the restaurant, but if I had I have no doubts it would have been great too. If you are thinking of booking The Rees but hesitating - do it! You will not be disappointed:)

Once in a lifetime in the kingdom of heaven ”
There's no doubt that The Rees hotel is on the top of my list 'Favorite Hotels' in the world. Every guest can enjoy the calendar-like scenery; the hotel is located on a hill to overlook the peaceful lake. Also, we decided to have our breakfast and dinner a few times in the hotel restauarnt where you could enjoy the beautiful lakeview (and sunrise during breakfast time); also the restaurant is just like your dining room with family atmosphere. The ingredients, oysters and etc are out of the world! I hope to visit Queenstown and stay at the same hotel in the near future.

Perfect for families”
We had an excellent stay at the Rees. We were three adults and two kids ages 7 and 9. We had a beautiful view of the Remarkables from our three bedroom apartment. The facilities were clean and simple with a full functioning kitchen and washer/drier; a free shuttle in and out of Queenstown (5 min ride); free parking at the hotel for our rental car; full hotel services if needed, and a gym. We had three nights and two very full days of activities for the entire family and loved every minute! Service was excellent. We’ll be back!

we had a fantastic 5 nights in queenstown staying in the rees apartments, a 40 minute walk into queenstown, a 15 minute bike ride or a 5 minute shuttle bus ride compliments of the hotel. lots of lovely restaurants and pubs to visit in queenstown but a well equipped kitchen so you can stay in and enjoy the scenery from the balcony

Awesome hotel with an awesome view”
Stayed 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed it very much right from the moment we checked in till we left. The view from the room was just fantastic! It was overlooking lake wakatipu. How I wish I could wake up to this view everyday. Anyway, the hotel room was located in another separate building from the reception. Thus, we need to park our car at level 3 and take the stairs/lift to our hotel room at level 2. The japanese guy at the reception desk was very helpful in guiding us through the check in. The hotel is located few minutes from the heart of queenstown....its quite tiring to walk there...so you may opt to use the hourly shuttle service which the hotel provides. Think its a good option if you don't have a car or you don't want to waste time looking for a parking in the town (which can be quite limited). What i enjoy most is the friendly staff and warm hospitality provided by the service crew. They always have someone at the service desk which is beside the wall full of tour pamphlets. The service crew was very proactive in asking if i needed help while i was busy browsing through the pamphlets. Two thumbs up! Pros : 1. Good location and awesome view 2. Friendly staff 3. New hotel and well maintained 4. Free hotel shuttle to town and back 5. Bathroom with temperature control/heater, very useful in cold winter! Cons : 1. The housekeeping should ensure the cleaning and tidying in the room is properly done. Eg. the hairdryer wires was not properly tidied up

Luxury option”
The moment you check in you know you are in the right place. Greeted and checked in a friendly and efficient way and accompanied to my room for explanation, luggage carriage and to install the free wifi connection (with great speed). It is located on the lake with nice views, a bit out of town centre, but their shuttle bus and water taxi at fixed times to bring you to Queenstown centre is filling that gap. The room is very well decorated with good size bed and comfortable sofa. All rooms are facing the lake and there is a good size balcony. The bathroom has great size with floor and towel heating. With all the comfort I used my room to the maximum during my 2 night stay, although Queenstown has a lot to explore. I did not try any of their restaurant options but am sure this is as good as the rest. This is the place to go if you want to pamper yourself: top service in a very luxury room!

Loved our stay at the Rees”
The Rees Hotel was a great place to stay as the rooms are modern and very, very comfortable. From your room you are able to get great views of both the lake and the remarkables, a great sight to take in.If you do not have your own car it may be quite difficult to get around Queenstown as the Rees is just under a 10min drive to the town centre. However, this did not become a problem for us. We really enjoyed our stay at the Rees hotel and would suggest it to anyone planning a trip down to Queenstown.

great location, lovely hotel”
great hotel to stay at queenstown. we were on a road trip and stayed here for 3 days. the apartment room is kept in a very high standard. all room applicants were in good condition except for the dish washing machine, which had a bit of water leakage, not a problem for me. over all, great staying experience and will definitely come back again if ever visit queenstown in the future.

Classy luxurious accomodations”
As soon as I walked into the beautiful lobby of the Rees I was impressed. It is immaculately decorated! The Desk staff were very friendly and I was surprised we were upgraded even without asking. Our room had a beautiful view over looking the water. The jacuzzi tub was a blessing, just what was needed after a day of adventure activities in Queenstown.

Perfect location and beautiful apartment”
We traveled with our children ages 17 and 20 and had a fantastic stay at the Rees, by far our favorite hotel during our trip to New Zealand. Really enjoyed sitting on the balcony after a busy day and enjoying the view and a nice glass of wine. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking to go to Queenstown.

Awesome with a capital A! ”
My hubby and I spent three nights at The Rees and thus far it has been the best choice of Accomodation throughout our 8 days trip around New Zealand! To our delight, we received a complimentary upgrade to the Executive lake view hotel room. We were brought to our room and was given a short orientation to the room by one of the hotel staff. Excellent service. The room was gorgeous! Spacious and the view was amazing. The bed was superbly comfortable and both us slept like babies for the three nights we spent at The Rees. The location is great. Only a few minutes drive from the airport and the town centre. It really set a high benchmark for the other hotels we stayed in subsequently. No one has yet to meet that benchmark... Highly recommended!

Great lake side hotel, luxurious rooms”
this is a great lake-side property, located about 5 minutes drive from city center. lake facing rooms are spacious with a king-sized bed, l-shaped three-seater sofa, coffee table and a set of two chairs and small side table in the balcony. if you are not in queenstown for sightseeing, this is a great hotel to just relax in and soak up the tranquil lake side atmosphere.

Quality, clean, attention to detail and luxurious”
Very, very good. The rooms are spacious, clean and luxurious. The bathroom tiles and towel handles are heated, so you will get a nice warm towel every morning. The view is breathtaking, nothing can come close to that. The Rees also provides a free shuttle to town, which is very convenient if you don't intend to rent a car. Staff is ultra friendly and professional, always smiling and greeting you no matter what time it is. Room service food was great too, if you get tired of all the extreme activities during the day. I would definitely go back to The Rees the next time i'm back!

Beyond perfection”
This hotel is beyond perfection.. i have come to visit south island of new zealand for it is well known for its beauty..and this hotel shows this new zealand reputation.. the view from our room was beautiful , facing the lake and snowy mountains.. and all the staff were friendly and helping me with everything needed.. and guess what? Even all the staff (woman 😅) were all beautiful and made me hard to concentrate when they were checking me in and out and explaining things about my room.. thus, when you come to queenstown, do stay at this hotel to see and experience the beauty of southern island of new zealand, both the nature and the people..
