Stunning Art Deco Hotel”

We arrived for a two night stop over before our flight back to the UK. The hotel is set right on the beach and in the beautiful Art Deco area of Miami Beach. The hotel and staff were great and I really enjoyed my stay but unfortunately there was construction work going on in the neighbouring hotel to the right which had constant dust and noise of industrial sawing and drilling all day long - it would have been nice if the hotel could have advised guests prior to their visit that there was ongoing building work next door - it was difficult to relax and unwind in this noisy environment . To add to this, the hotel on the other side appeared to be a party hotel with very loud thumping music coming from the gardens (too loud at times) , so this did slightly ruin our stay. Nevertheless, I could not fault the beautiful National Hotel or its staff who were very good ! I would also recommend eating in Tamara’s Restaurant within the National Hotel - we had lunch and an evening meal.

Beautiful property....very disappointed”

I live in Pittsburgh and needed a little sunshine (and beach)-- did a lot of research - decided on SB- National Hotel. The property is pricey but impressive. Here's where my disappointment comes in-- The SOBEWFF was happening during the time I was there-- (this event was not mentioned when I was making my reservations). Unfortunately, this event consists of numerous tents that are connected and run along the beach directly behind the hotel- in order to get to the National Hotel beach, you had to walk at least 1/4 of a mile!! Next, everything that you purchase at the resort has an 18% gratuity fee and 9% tax- -when I am sitting poolside & have to get my own drinks-& pay 18% gratuity?? The last day, the pool closed early (very disappointing since the beach was so far away) -due to an "event"- later that night. returned to room and had no electricy! I did s/w a manager who was very kind, he took $152.60 off of my bill of $1712.54---overall- very disappointing

Exceptional”

Best location in Miami Beach. All staffs are very friendly. The only complaint is the check-in staff told me she will call me when my room is ready, but I didn't receive any call. I returned to her at 3:30pm to know the room was ready, wasted me 4 hours hanging around the neighbourhood of hotel.

Amazing hotel!”

We loved The National. This will be my first choice from now on. The staff was phenomenal. So friendly and accommodating. The hotel had a great beach and pool. The vibe was fun and energetic. The location can’t be beat!!! It was all around just wonderful!!

Great Location Great pool Great service”

It’s close to shoppling malls, restaurants and the beach. The hotel pools and stuff services were great. We stayed 3 nights at the king cabana room which was so clean and next to the pool. The only thing that we were quite discontented was the receptionist who check-in us wasn’t nice at all. She seemed not happy to welcome us and didn’t smile. Other than, everything was perfect!

The regular rooms are small and old. I uprgrared to a poolside cabana room. Those are nice. The staff is friendly the management doesn’t like you having outside food or drink or a cooler at the beach. So don’t expect to bring that. Also this hotel isn’t focused toward the younger crowd. Or party type. But it is right in between to hotels that are and the music is loud on both sides. If you want a party hotel go to the SLS or the Loews hotel. The rest of the staff at the National was awesome. But the management is horrible. They have no clue on customer service and hospitality.

I loved this place comfy bed, backs up to the boardwalk and beach,awesome service, the only negative is They tried to charge me $15 to have a coffee pot in my room ridiculous and they advertised in room movies but due to some problems they were having with the vendor you could not access the movies

Perfect Miami Hotel”

Beautiful, historic hotel in a great location. Oozes 1930’s glamour with a modern feel. Pool and gardens are great with reasonably priced food served around the pool and on the beach. Very friendly staff too. Can’t fault the place.

Unfortunately we ended there during spring break. Had to put up with obscenely noise/music from next door even in the room until midnight. Could not enjoy outdoor hotel facilities as expected due to this. Otherwise the hotel was pleasing, Art Deco style, in need of some remodeling in places. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Facilities are overall nice, close to the beach and on the boardwalk. Food at the hotel was good. Beach umbrella was extra (other nearby hotels include it in the package), 2 lounge chairs are included in the package.

Was up gradert to cabana room by the pool , close to beach & shopping Lincon road close by. Going to stay here again good hotell & staff nice.

I was really looking forward to my trip in Miami. I've been many many times in Miami, so I know what to expect. But this hotel was less than overwhelming. First of all, the Hotel itself hasn't been renovated in years, which you can actually see everywhere. The window glazing is absolutely basic and the techno parties from the hotel next door won't let you sleep. We asked for another room, which was kindly offered by the staff, so that was a plus but besides that, mostly unfriendly staff. You'll pay a full resort fee of almost 30 dollars a day, even though during our stay 5 out of 7 nights the pool and common areas were rented out for events and during which of course hotel guests weren't able to use any of these facilities. This is an absolutely no-go! For this reason, I will never ever, return to this hotel. Someone seems to be getting very rich: they charge huge amounts of money for the location, but don't invest it in the property and rent out common areas! Capitalism gone wrong!

The hotel was both beautifully styled with excellent facilities. The room was art deco with a modern feel. It somehow managed to feel spacious and the view was excellent. Service was great as well.

My friends and I booked this hotel for 3 nights. The check in process worked fine. The hotel is in a nice area and the swimming pool is really good, but, the service is not in the same level. I was expecting to have a nice services by the pool, but, they don't have it. For ours we waited someone to ask if we need something, if we want to order drink/food. And once ordered, took forever to have it done. The same in the beach area. Actually, worst. Taking one hour to have a bottle of water served. In the time to checkout, we just asked the lady about the fees that we have been charged daily in our credit card, to understand how it worked, once in the check in, the customer service said that only $200 deposit should be charged, but, we got over $1K charged. The lady was so impolite, with a bad behavior, starting to argue and refusing to answer the questions. It was really disappointed. As I said, the location is really good, but, the way that the hotel treats the guests is really bad.

Looks are deceiving! My first room I had roaches and ants. They switched the rooms right away and gave me $100 worth of breakfast buffet credit. (The bugs made me curious about cleanliness because they don’t allow outside food or drinks on the premises, but you can order room service, so I’m not sure.) After we switched rooms, the linen and sheets were really stained in the other room. The doors are really hard to open and the handle was jamming a lot. They do have a decent breakfast buffet. And when you go on the beach, they have reserved chairs and towels for you. You are literally within walking distance of Ocean Drive which was awesome! The staff was always very accommodating and super nice. Overall it was overpriced because of all the issues I had. I wouldn’t stay here again personally.
