Maxwell Hotel - Pleasant budget hotel in Cebu City”

This hotel is less than one year old on N Escario St, near the Provincial Capitol building, and also near Cebu Doctors' University Hospital. Upon check-in, and throughout my stay, the hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean with firm bedding and air con. Comfort room had separate shower area with on demand hot water heater, (which worked very well). Standard western toilet w/out bidet. Bar/cafe downstairs in front of hotel for pleasant entertainment in the evening and the hotel offered free breakfast in the AM, which was adequate but not fantastic. Elevator lift was available, but somewhat small. A convenience store is in the lobby for snacks, drinks, and stuff you may have forgotten to pack. Staff was friendly and fun. The price was great, and I got an upgrade on one day at no additional cost, due to a booking error. I would certainly consider staying at the Maxwell Hotel again! Mabuhay!

Solo traveler, stayed for 2 nights in the Superior Double Room. Overall it was a good stay for me. Despite my changing check-in time they still accomodated me without extra fees. PROS: -Close to starbucks, Jollibee, McDonalds, and restaurants -Near to Ayala Center Cebu and SM City Cebu, i took grab and it took me like 15minutes average. -Superior Double Room(Room 406) i stayed was good: quite spacious and clean. -Comfortable Bed, Quiet Air-conditioning Unit, Hot shower works. -Staff were polite and accomodating (always greets and smiling) -Quick check-in and out process -Pay at the hotel (convenient for me since i was not really sure in staying until the last minute but they still accepted me and kept me updated through email) -Your business is not their business (PRIVACY) -Accessible to grab, angkas, taxi MINOR CONS: -vehicles passing in the streets is a bit noisy even though i am at 4th floor, but it is tolerable. You can still sleep well. -TV is quite small -Water is weak sometimes -Electric outlet in the CR/Bathroom is not working so i cannot use my electric shaver. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

Clean, Safe and Budget friendly rooms”

My family and I stayed and we loved it not only because of the reasonable room rates (we booked online so we really got a great deal) but also because of the many restaurants nearby. Yakimix, mcdo, Jollibee, Zubo chon, Inasal and even 7/11 are just few steps away from this place. The staffs were very friendly and accomodating. Rooms are clean, decent and adequate. Water Heaters are working in both rooms that we occupied and beds are CLEAN & comfortable even the aircon were all working well. The basilica of the Santo Niño, Magellans Cross, Museo Sugbo, SM City and Seaside, ayala district, Tubo-an market for pasalubongs and a lot more are just one ride away lang. Few minutes lang including traffic na. Bottomline and most important is that we truly enjoyed our stay sa Maxwell Hotel Cebu!

A little gem in the heart of Cebu City”

A little gem located 10 minutes from downtown Cebu. Great value for money compared to the 5 stars on offer, insuring a pleasant and comfortable stay. Though if traffic worries you, it's best to find a quieter location. When in Cebu, I wouldn't hesitate to stay anywhere other than The Maxwell again, for it's convenient location, helpful and friendly staff and value for money.

New, clean, excellent value”

This is a good value hotel in the heart of Cebu City. The rooms are clean, with comfortable beds and crisp white sheets. Every room has a TV set with cable. There's WiFi in the lobby. Complimentary breakfast is served in the adjacent restaurant. Good selection, but they only had instant coffee. If you want brewed coffee, you have to cross the street to a small cafe and buy a cup yourself.

Convenient Hotel”

I found out about this hotel thru Agoda. Read all the reviews, and I also tried to see the hotel's own website. It took me some time to find out the actual phone number of this hotel, since their main website is under construction, so I have to rely solely on the reviews and description at Agoda. For the main purpose of our trip, the location of this hotel was perfect since the person we were trying to get in touch with lives a on the same street. Since it was August, as expected, there were torrential rains, so the proximity to Ayala mall proved very convenient for us. The rooms were sufficient in size, since we basically just need a safe place to rest, though I noticed there seems no airconditioning along the hallyways, there is no vent in the bathroom, so expect fogging of your mirrors after a shower. We also took a city tour thru arrangements with front desk and it came out much cheaper had we gone thru a travel agent. If you want a hotel with more amenities, you will not be happy here, it only has a convenience store,spa shop, travel agency and Maxim's restaurant no swimming pools or gym, but then again, the purpose of our trip did not require those extra amenities. So if I have a chance to get back to Cebu, I will always consider this hotel again. Expect heavy traffic though during rush hour in front of the hotel, Escario street is a very street, so allocate enough time especially during rush hours. Also, the hotel was nice enough to accommodate our request for early check in and late check out.

Location wise, Maxwell Hotel is really a good place to stay. It's near convenience stores, restaurants and very accessible. They got clean rooms, comfortable beds though the pillow was really small. Functioning hot/cold shower and a working wifi with a great speed (I was able to work in the room). They provide soap and shampoo, but NO toothbrush and toothpaste so you better bring one. P.S. They will let you deposit 1000 pesos (bring extra money). Overall, it was a great stay.

Just fine”

We stayed for a night while in Cebu City. The location is very good, as it is near convenience stores, restaurants, fastfood chains, coffee shops, and pharmacies. The staff are nice. The room has enough space for two and has good air condition. I was just shocked to find a small crawling cockroach under the bedside table UPON entering the room. Not happy with the bathroom. It was poorly cleaned/maintained, and the water pressure is even more terrible. So far, our stay is good, considering that we only stayed for a night.

Good location for Sinulog”

We preferred Maxwell Hotel because of its location. We wanted a place that is accessible to Osmeña Circle for Sinulog parade. We online booked two months ahead, and due to peak season, they upgraded our room from De Luxe to a Suite without charging us of additional payment. Highly recommended to tourists with limited budget.

Good , clean newer hotel”

Maxwell hotel is clean with great employees. Good location short walk to Osmena Circle. I have stayed at numerous hotels in this area and have found the Maxwell to be the best for the price. Included breakfast at Maxims restaraunt but I found food to be cold when we ate there at 8 am. The room was clean and modern, comfortable beds with good CR, hot water, Cold aircon, nice mini mart in the lobby for last minute needs. I would recommend Maxwell to any one.

Room we got is superior triple bed. Its spacious for the three of us. Staffs are Good. Hotel's location is very very Good!!! Thing that i dont like is their shower! Water is not enough to get upto the 4th floor also the heater was so so sooo hot! But overall we enjoyed our stay at oyo maxwell hotel!

It was a fantastic and pleasant stay that we had...Room were clean and it is value for our money...Our honeymoon in Hongkong were diverted in Cebu bcz of medical reasons but we had the great experiences on the local date we had...Staff were friendly and food is just ok...

Simple Clean Affordable”

Just needed a very affordable yet comfortable place to stay for 1 night and I had a good experience at Maxwell. Not to mention the WIFI was super fast too. The staff were attentive, super polite and accommodating I noticed they were all always smiling. Kudos to the management.

taxi drivers know where to drop you off, my room was good value for money, you have to go out into a cafe next door for breakfast. after 24 hrs of travel a proper 1 hour massage is available but give the lady who comes to your room a tip peso they work hard and dont earn a lot. the bar has reasonable meals and the beers are cold and not bad prices but the live entertainment (solo singer guitarist) a little loud after a long flight. the rooms are basic, a telly,shower, toilet, basin etc.. i found the hotel clean comfortable and the staff helpful, you pay for what you get and for the price this hotel is excellent!!

Comfortable and relaxing stay”

Stayed first 2 days here in Maxwell hotel and such a good feeling coming into a nice comfortable room to relax after a long travel. The staff are friendly. Security guard are quick to get you a taxi. The room is clean enough but they do need to pay more attention to shower and sink taps. Its the first thing that guests touch when using it. Wifi is poor and not enough hairdriers.Never got one. Overall am satisfied and will recommend it.

For your basic needs.”

If you're looking for cheap accommodation, Maxwell has it. The location is great because it's in the middle of the city. Jeepneys are easily accessible. There are lots of restaurants nearby. Since it's cheap, don't expect for a luxurious stay. However, your stay would be worth it. You will have everything you need- shower with heater, aircon, cable tv, and spacious room. Perfect for budget travelers, especially to those who are not from Cebu. There's also a lechon belly restaurant at the lobby.

Friendly Maxwell”

Generally we can say that we enjoyed our stay at The Maxwell most that all the hotel is very clean, the staff is very nice, clean and correct, friendly and helpfull. The rooms are acceptable for the rate charged. The hotel is good and central situated and the cities great shopping mall's are all within a taxi rate of 100 pesos away.

Warm and friendly property”

After spending 24 hours in airports and on planes, arriving at the Maxwell was a no hassle experience. Staff were always friendly, professional and eager to meet my needs. The onsite spa was amazing with the best massage ever and very affordable, another great treat after a long flight. The onsite 24 hour convenience store was a big help with just about anything one would need. Everyone I encountered in this property went out of their way to ensure my stay was very comfortable. I can't wait to return.

Excellent location and value for money”

This is my first stay at Maxwell. I love the ambiance of our room. What i love most is the location itself as it is near the convenient store, starbucks and other restaurants. Keep up the good work for its friendly staffs. No hassle check in as well.
