Unexpected but pleasant stay”

We got stuck in Glenwood Springs during a recent blizzard when I-70 was closed, and the rates at Hotel Colorado were reasonable and they had availability. We were very pleased with the room and the hotel in general, and felt very welcome and had a great stay despite not planning on being in the area overnight. The staff was friendly and pleasant, and very helpful when we needed advice for things to do. We will definitely stay again!

Felt like royalty”

This historic hotel is huge and well cared for and the staff are fantastic. My Dad and I have been coming to this hotel for 35 years with different groups of family and friends. The food in the restaurant was wonderful - even had gluten free selections. Great bartender and full bar. Enormous comfortable lobby with fireplaces and ice water and great reading spots and gathering spots with comfortable seating. The rooms are large and very clean. The beds and linens are updated and very comfortable. The staff is very professional and glad to help with any needs. The location is perfect for walking to the hot springs pool, Vapor caves, river trail, park, and downtown. We have tried several hotels in Glenwood but this one is our favorite and just cannot be beat. Glenwood is a special place with lots to do and the only place we have visited where you can get off the train and walk to everything you want to do!

Amazing! ”

Me and my boyfriend came for nye and it was made by the room we were allocated! Room 424 had a walk up jacuzzi bath tub and we spent most of our vacation in there. I love how each room has its own individuality and all the employees were so friendly and assisting. Would recommend as the best place to stay here in Glenwood! Thank you hotel colorado!

Historic hotel, great location”

The first thing I noticed about the hotel was that it allowed dogs. Second, it is beautiful, historic and very centrally located. The pedestrian bridge to downtown is a few feet away. My nieces enjoyed looking around the hotel and all it’s history. Really good breakfast. Lots of places to lounge both inside and outside. I highly recommend this hotel for your Glenwood stay.

We will make the drive from Monument, Colorado just to stay the night. What a great place to stay. So comfortable. The beds pillows view from the room. History and Antiques all over. Great restaurant. The staff were so friendly. I can't say enough we loved it!!!! You have to see the beauty yourself. I slept like a baby. I wish we could of just spent the week. Room service I can't wait to go back. They are decorating for Christmas. Making my December reservations now.

Great location”

It's such a cool building, if you like history, you're surrounded by it. Great location across from the hot springs, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Only criticism is that the mattress wasn't the greatest, the 2nd night was tough because I couldn't get comfortable, I like a more supportive mattress. Still I'd return here, really enjoyed the stay.

Very Nice Historic Hotel”

For historic hotels, this is our favorite. We have been coming here for several years now. You have to keep in mind that it is a historic hotel and 125 years old,, every room is different from the next, and without the modern amenities that you may be accustomed to. The new owners however have started renovations that will continue for the next several years and the first one being the addition of window AC units to the rooms. The AC unit does block your view some, but sure beats using a box fan. If you like history and staying in 100 year+ old hotels, this is definitely one to check out. And if you have the money, splurge some and get a balcony suite. Your wife will love you for it.

Old hotel and event location”

As a hotel its old, if you like history and 1950s accommodations this is for you. No vent in the bathroom, rust stains in the bath tub, tiny toilet, but functional. I think this is more of an event location then a nice hotel, as they were hosting 3 different events in the ball/event rooms on the main floor when I was there. They do have some fireplaces which were a nice touch, and a little convenient store at the front. This is an average hotel with an amazing location, it is walking distance to downtown and three different hot springs.

CONs: I got three bites on my legs... noticed them the day after I slept there. No breakfast included. No coffee maker or refrigerator in room. Noisey due to construction at the hotel. PROs: Close to downtown. Short walk across pedestrian bridge to downtown and Hot Springs.

A classic but not fancy ”

Always decorated nicely for the holidays. Right across from the hot springs. Building is old and some parts are amazing and others are super tacky. Ate holiday buffet and it looked like a ten year old made it. They couldn’t remember to bring us our sodas, yet they had the gratuity added in already. My cat could carve meat better than the guy who was massacring the meat. Gravey.....here’s a spoon to get stuff from under the turkey. Desserts were thawed, I expect more for 50$ a person.

The staff were great, but seemed overwhelmed, I think they were understaffed. The hotel and the history are great to walk through and check out all the pictures etc. but the rooms are disappointing. The heaters don't have thermostats so the rooms are either too hot or too cold depending on your preference, in the summer there is no A/C. Also there were bugs in the room and many unsealed windows so large amounts of cold air coming in. The restaurant is really good though, I would recommend eating there for sure.
