Stayed here just before the Covid 19 quarantine began. The hotel was already empty, but the service by all the staff was still hold in very high standard. Nothing felt downgraded in any way. The room was beautifully designed, and very comfortable to stay in. The food from the restaurant downstairs SOFIA was excellent. Overall a worthy stay and very good value for your money.

I must say not many hotel like this in Jakarta, very unique features. Elegant classic european style in the heart of Jakarta. Trees and squirrels at your windows view . The last room I stayed in even have a bathtub in the living room ( to bad no proper water system, so it will get messy and wet all over the room ) . Friendly staff , i will stay here again next time I'm around.

Obsession with working my Hotel frequent guests program was thrown away as I stayed at this great property. Love it all....except that inside the elegant Sophia bar restaurant ,smoking is permitted in the bar, and smoke does not choose to stay contained...bothersome. \

My second time here was even better than the first, and I loved the first. Also, my favorite fragrance, Santa Maria did Novella, has opened their first boutique store in Indonesia in the Gunawarman. Very nice breakfast, as well.

Hotel with great decor and ambience that is within minutes from SCBD despite Jakarta's traffic. The room is garnished with colonial luxury decor and feels great for a couple retreat. Highly recommend!

The staff and the facility is superb but the food as for the breakfast can be more upgraded as it has less to choose for. The place is absolutely instagramable but the mansard room size is less than what i expected, a little bit too crampy. I have to stack my stuff but im loving the bathroom deco ^^ Will try the deluxe next time see if it’s more wide. Overall satisfiying.

A cozy stay in the heart of Jakarta”
My husband and I stayed at The Gunawarman with our 9 month old baby baby boy who absolutely loved the unique shower semi bathtub in the white room. We were welcomed by the most genuinely kind manager though we checked in pretty late. He was kind and informative which was true of all the staff there. The only 2 things I would say could be improved are the breakfast and facilities. The breakfast was too limited in choices and an ala cart menu is not the most enticing breakfast option, I think a breakfast buffet would be a nicer option to pick and choose things, we had to choose between fried rice or bacon, it would have been nice to have both. As for facilities, they don’t have a pool which is fair because its a small hotel so it may be better suited for couples than for families with kids looking to have things to do. The location is prime though for food lovers, many restaurants and lounges (they have a beautiful lounge of their own too) around.

Romantic hotel great for getaway with your loved one. Location is great but traffic can be a problem at certain time. The bed is so comfortable you wouldn't want to leave the room.
