Incredible place”
The room was kept immaculately clean, and the sheets were changed daily. Air conditioner, hot showers, and even a good fridge is available inside the room, something of a rarity even in the more expensive hotels. The folks managing the place are really helpful and great, and the location is quiet and secluded, perfect if you want some peace after a hectic day out. The flowers, which I noticed were changed daily, is a fantastic touch as well. Highly recommended.

Perfect little place to relax away from the crowds”
This is a super friendly place to stay with the best hosts. Rooms are spotlessly clean, large and comfortable with fridge, a/c and en suite. Top quality. Location is away from the main tourist areas and close to the jungle and rice paddies. Not the place to come if you want it lively and any shops and restaurants require a short journey. However there are good bicycles which are free to use and scooter hire is cheap (as are Grabs taxis). The wifi was a little weak in our room (one of the furthest away from reception) but good if you sit in the lovely upper balcony area which looks out on the beautiful garden.

Room is huge for the small price we pay, complete with 5feet fridge, aircond, huge bed. You can cook, watch TV and enjoy quiet time in the rooftop balcony. Host? Fendi and Mas is a very good host. Very helpful and wonderful people.

Hotel quite new and even have chiller! For this kind of price you can't find anywhere else in Langkawi with chiller. Room and bathroom really spacious. Definitely will come again. Location a bit deep but not really an issue.

location far from the down town”
we have to cancel the booking because it's difficult to find taxi/grab. i have to wait for 1 hour to get grab. and the driver said we are so lucky that we found him, because he just dropped passenger near the location not recommend for family with children and difficult to find food. unless you have your own vehicle.

The maroon male receptionist spoil the whole soup of day.. Ask for identification card just in case when he report police need it. Ask for rm 50 given and say in case you steal towel or late check out you have to pay. I checked out 9.15am without checking room, the female receptionist refund rm50 to me.. wth !! Collected deposit?! Really jerk character of the male receptionist treat guests as criminal rather than guest. Of all the word he choose the worst one. Or incapable to handle guest in personal. A cosy place with a demon in there... Look for Jurassic park in Langkawi... try here...

A good base to sight see Langkawi”
The Agoda photos give the impression of a run-down place; however we discovered that the reality was quite the opposite. The room we stayed in was newly built, comfortable and with functional equipment. The bathroom was spotless and the hot water shower worked extremely well. Free wifi was available and worked for the most part at good speeds, but signal quality was sometimes poor probably due to transmitter proximity. A wifi enhancer would not go amiss. In Langkawi you must have some sort of private transportation like a rental car. Do not forget to bring your driving license! This hotel is located towards the south west of the country, a little inland from the coastline where much tourist activity takes place. With a personal vehicle the south-west coast is not but 15 minutes away with moderate traffic. The location also reduces the driving time back to the airport and also to the other parts of the country where many other interesting things are to be seen. It could be a little unsettling getting to this place at night time as the road is isolated with no street lamps. But generally the hotel is quite central for visiting the different corners of the island. Breakfast consisted of eggs (made to your preference), cereal, coffee or tea with fresh milk, bread/toast with butter, cheese and jam, and some fruits. Breakfast was hearty and satisfying. One con: Towels were provided on day 2 and not on the first night. We carried our own so there was no problem, but it would have been good if they had been provided at the onset. The hotel is run by a husband and wife. They told us of their backgrounds in hospitality work (hotels and such), the difficulties and long hours they faced therein, and their dream and final realization of opening their own hotel (the Box Chalet). We got the impression that they were a careful and concerned people with attention to detail. We were impressed. We concur with the other reviews in saying: Fantastic!
