Recommended resort to stay in Cebu”

Really enjoyed our five days here. Location: getting to Moalboal and the resort took us 3 hours both directions to/from Cebu City. The resort itself is located very near to white beach (although white beach isn’t that great in my opinion); 20 minutes to a lively little beach side town (with some nice eating drinking options); and the main attraction for snorkellers and divers is the lovely house reef that you walk/swim to from the resort plus easy boat trips to some wonderful diving/snorkelling in under 20 minutes. The resort: well kept and managed. A pool. Restaurant and bar serving perfectly good food and drink. Tropical plants and trees throughout the resort, Chairs to lounge around pool and beach (resort has a small “beach” area overlooking the water which is great for relaxing). Room: we stayed in delux sea view and it was a large, clean no frills room, with a balcony and nice view. Absolutely no complaints. Activities: the main attraction is diving. I tried two dives - both excellent. Professional and enthusiastic staff add to the experience - felt in safe hands Staff: have to say all the staff were excellent, friendly and gave the guests attention. Gave the resort a very family friendly feel and added to the overall enjoyment of the resort. Tips to improve: would have loved a fresh flat white coffee!! A coffee machine could be a good investment. Maybe a few more hammocks around the place. Overall: highly recommend, thanks to the blue orchid team

Superb food, tranquil location, friendly staff.”

The Blue Orchid is the very last resort near White Beach in Moalboal. Given the serene location, the hotel is not suitable for party animals. The rooms were simple but clean, such as the pool and the wonderful garden. It is a perfect place for relaxing and an even better place for dining. Truly, the dinners we had at Blue Orchid was the best we have had so far during our 1,5 months in the Philippines. The house reef, which is accessible via concrete path through the sea is amazing. The staff is very friendly, flexible and attentive. The diving staff seemed to be a little chaotic but the dives themselves were great. Blue Orchid organizes trips in collaboration with Cyan, which are great. Summarizing, I'd definitely recommend Blue Orchid for those who enjoy a peaceful vibe, nature and great food.

Perfect Holiday at the Blue Orchid Resort ”

Our holiday was perfect at the Blue Orchid resort from the moment we arrived to the minute we left. We were greeted by warm smiles from their lovely staff. They made us feel like family for our entire stay. The food was excellent. Myself and my partner tried a new dish every day. The location was perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of Moalboal and absolutely stunning. We were there for 4 nights and as it was available, we got upgraded to the honeymoon suite for free! We were so grateful. It had its own floor and lounge area overlooking the ocean, even a roof terrace!The resort itself is beautiful, with a fantastic swimming pool. It's also right next to White Beach which was great. I tried diving for the first time while I was there. I was a bit scared at first but their diving instructors were really professional. The dive sites they took us to were incredible. All their rooms were over looking the sea, and they had cushioned huts and loungers all along the sea front. I would definitely recommend getting a massage too! They helped us arrange some great excursions, Kawasan falls was my favorite. I will certainly be returning. A definite choice for anyone wanting to make the most out of their trip. Thank you

Just lovely”

In mid January, we spent some days diving at this wonderful place! Beautiful, quiet and very clean. The Blue Orchid Resort is amazing, set on a beautiful location with good views over the reefs and the ocean. Our lager than average Deluxe doubleroom was appreaciated. This time the pictures and the reviews is not a lie.. they actually would never be able to communicate what a lovely atmosphere this hotel provides. The sandy White beach is only a few minutes walk away and the areas with sun beds right at the waterfront at the hotel was amazingly beautiful. There is a large pool area and the restaurant area provides a quite get away spot. It’s a very beautiful kept property and we loved the warm and personal attention from the staff. The food and restaurant was really fabulous and the service excellent with lots of smiles and attentiveness. The diving-instructors were very experienced and welcoming and the diving was amazing. Overall a very comfortable hotel – one of those you just don’t want to leave.. and never will forget. We absolutely recommend it.

Loved our honeymoon stay at The Blue Orchid”

My husband and I spent the final four nights of our Philippines honeymoon at The Blue Orchid. It was the perfect place to end our trip. The managers and staff (and onsite dog Maple) were so friendly, helpful, and hardworking and created a family atmosphere. The food was consistently good. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and we loved our roof deck for sunsets! The staff arranged transportation for us on multiple occasions, which was great because it’s a little off the beaten path! (Be ready for some bouncy tricycle or motorbike rides!) They also booked our canyoneering excursion, which we’d highly recommend (and if they tell you to go early, go early-it’s worth beating the crowds). We didn’t do any diving while we were there, but we went on a few boat trips that were a mix of divers, snorkelers, and people learning to dive, and I would’ve felt comfortable with their instructors. The house reef and all of the local dive spots we visited were beautiful, it was refreshing to see such healthy coral when so many parts of the underwater world are suffering. A few things I wish I’d realized ahead of time, although I wouldn’t change a thing about our stay: Panagsama Beach and Moalboal are a 20 minute ride away, which is doable but makes it harder to pop into town for a quick bite (we just went into town once for dinner). Also, The Blue Orchid is a little past where White Beach ends, so it’s walkable but it’s not right on the beach. However, the house reef is right out front and there’s a sandy area with beach chairs set above the water, so still a nice place to relax. Thanks for a wonderful end to our trip!

Lost in Paradise”

My wife and I had an incredible time at Blue Orchid. At the remote tip of Moalboal, Blue Orchid was romantic, remote, and relaxing. Great staff and service, wonderful meals cooked by the local kitchen staff. An amazing reef that you walk right into off the beach in front of the resort. Beautiful coral and fish (and sea turtles!) by day, and not to be missed tide pools and exotic sea animals to be explored at night. We were looking for a quiet, beautiful location with great snorkeling (and diving) and a beach to lay around on, and Blue Orchid delivered. Unplug and enjoy the beauty!

Perfect”

We booked the Blue Orchid standard room via Agoda but I then decided to enquire about the Honeymoon Suite direct with the hotel as it was my partner's birthday. Shannon (co-manager) answered my email within minutes and arranged an upgrade for us at an expected additional cost. Wow - we are so glad we upgraded - the Honeymoon Suite is out of this world - jacuzzi bath in a bathroom to die for, large spacious air conditioned bedroom, separate living room with large flat screen TV and private rooftop terrace. On the few occasions that we left the room, we snorkelled along the beach reef and ate good quality in the restaurant. Shannon and her partner Matt manage the hotel and dive facilities and are very keen to get to know their guests and ensure that their stay is enjoyable. Shannon even offered to organise a birthday cake for my partner. Both Shannon and Matt made themselves available to welcome us and say goodbye which is a nice personal touch. Additionally, all the staff we met were very polite and provided an excellent professional service. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Blue Orchid and are only sorry we couldn't stay longer.

Definitely worth the effort to get there”

Travelling on your own can sometimes be a bit daunting but I was made to feel at home straight away at the Blue Orchid where both the staff and other guests were friendly and welcoming. It's a three hour drive from the airport to the resort passing through the hills and villages. I loved the fairly isolated location of the resort and, as this was my first visit to the Philippines, the drive was like a tour of the island. The service from Shannon before and during my stay was excellent, with quick and helpful responses to emails. The accommodation was very comfortable with a lovely hot water shower with great pressure, and the different seating areas around the resort offered options for privacy or being more sociable depending on your mood. There was a good variety of delicious food on offer and only a day after coming home I'm missing the fruit shakes (and cocktails)!

A+ service”

We spent the last leg of our Cebu honeymoon in Blue Orchid and it was the best decision we made. Massive thanks to Lisa, Bill and the entire staff who not only made sure we were comfortable during our entire stay, but also for going the extra mile to ensure our honeymoon went perfectly. Come here if you want to stay away from the crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet. It's farther than most resorts in the area but so worth the trip. Bedrooms are cozy and comfortable, food is great (a bit pricey but servings are huge), the ocean is right in front. What else do you need? :)

Splendid! Can't wait to come back!”

In short: we simply loved it and want to go back A.S.A.P. The food was really good...in such a remote place to get quality food is extremely surprising. Oh, and their mango shake in the morning ROCKS!!! I am already thinking to do a Rescue Diver course with them just to feel the air and sense the sea next to our doorstep. The massage was truly amazing. My friend never does full body massages, but he was blown away, and was glad he opted for it. It was so good for my wife, she already made friends with the main massage lady. The staff are great and they praise the owner of the place. Nice stay in a quiet and remote place”

The Blue Orchid Resort is a nice hotel in a remote place in Moalboal. Don't expect a very busy place. It's a small hotel with a limited number of rooms but the staff is really nice (Matt and Shannon). Nice place to snorkel or to dive. Good restaurant on site serving local food.

loved loved loved the blue orchid resort! the place is just amazingly beautiful and also awesome staff! and not to mention the food.. i gained a lot of weight during my visit :) perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful island, but also a place with a lot of activites around where the staff were super kind to fix what you wanted to do! the only bad thing with our visit was that we had to leave. will definately come back! lots lots lots of love xxx

Superb in EVERY way”

This place came highly recommended by a friend, now I know why… The grounds are far enough from the noise of Moalboal town, but still within a short enough distance to travel into everyday, just as I did on scooter. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the air-con was strong enough to fill the large room we stayed in. Snorkelling the house reef also far exceeded my expectations, the coral is a mix of hard & soft and on our very first snorkel, just opposite the resort by the drop off, we saw a group of four eagle rays, numerous turtles, juvenile catfish, a banded sea snake and many groups of colourful ateliers. The vis was good most mornings and during low tide the drop off is relatively easy to reach via a slabbed path. The dive shop is well equipped and the DM, Norman, is super nice and an excellent macro spotter. Even though I visited this place during Covid and was the only diver, they were still flexible with locations and I could dive whenever I wanted. The restaurant was pre-order only during my stay because of the limited people staying due to Covid, however this was not a negative as they have an arrangement with the restaurant next to them, of which serves excellent food. I can recommend the pizza and calamari, It was some of the best I’ve had. The prices are also reasonable given the quality, service and surroundings. Above all, the owner and staff really made this a special stay, all were friendly, helpful and accommodating. They even brought us dinner to our room on several occasions. I will be definitely coming back again soon.

Wonderful Resort”

We had a great time staying on the Blue Orchid Resort. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our canyoneering tour of Kawasan falls which was organised by the resort. We also rented scooters, got massages and the food/drinks were good. Only small negative was the aircon in our room didn't work very well.

This place is incredible, we went only planning on staying for two nights but ended up deciding to stay for two more within the first night and we wish we could of stayed for longer, the staff were so helpful with whatever we needed or wanted to do and always happy to help, always getting everyone to talk to each other which is lovely, the food there is so good! Found my favourite pork belly dish there and the bar is 24hours! Who could ask for much more! If we ever go back to the Philippines the blue orchid would be a definite place to stay! Thank you to all of the staff for making our stay all the better!

Great hotel on Cebu”

We loved our stay at Blue Orchid. The staff was amazing and very helpful. They helped us book all our activities. Snorkeling was awesome! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Honeymoon suite had epic sunset views. The food at the resort is fantastic and reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice resort, friendly staff”

I stayed at Blue Orchid for few days and passed my Padi Open Water there. Very great experience and very friendly staff always asking if everything is doing well. The resort is a bit far for everything and the access is not easy but you can rent a bike and it makes the life much easier. The room was spacious and clean, I can recommend this place if you are looking for very peaceful environment with great scenary

Remote and quiet, boring and expensive ”

Blue Orchid Resort is ideal for old rich couples - it's quiet and expensive. If u are young and lively dont stay here. The resort is 20 minute motorbike ride ( really bad road condition, blue orchid should fix the road!) away from Panagsama Beach. Over priced food and drinks, PADI courses are around 50% more expensive than Panagsama. There's nothing else to do other than a boring beach. Rooms are big but doesn't even have a fridge or mini bar. If you are not 60 years old, don't stay here. There's plenty of nice hotels in Panagsama beach.

Nice place to stay in Moalboal ”

Stayed 3 nights in Moalboal. Cool relaxed vibe in small resort. Staff super friendly and helpfull. Great dive location and good equipment. All the food served was really good. Great place to stay if you want to dive and explore cebu. Hotel organized our dives and canyoning in Badian.

Really impressed , fantastic place and staff”

Stayed for 3 nights , rented a bike in Cebu city and biked down to Moalboal , resort is really nice , room was exceptional with excellent view of the sea, staff are so nice and helpful, thank you to Angela and team , really good activities available , we did canyoneering and snorkeling and everything can be organised from the resort , food was brilliant and the bar opens late 👌, thank you again to all the staff, I will definitely return , Sean from Ireland
