We enjoyed our stay and thought it great value for the money. However, the heaters in the rooms had broken dials so unfortunately no heat for the Auckland chilly nights. There is an additional fee to use the parking facilities of the hotel which i wasn't aware of at the time of booking. Being an overseas visitor, finding a spot to park a rental vehicle overnight while waiting on a parking permit to be returned by another guest in Auckland can be a bit tricky and expensive, so book your car park when you book a room if you have a car. Beds were very comfortable and the place clean and tidy. Local knowledge of the area by the concierge was good on our arrival. Can be a bit noisy at night being close to the university with students going out on weekends, but overall we had no problem sleeping.

Good location good price and big room”

The hotel is very close to the Auckland city. It is walking distance to the queens street. Also not far from the airport by the airbus. But it is on the hill. So if with many luggages it could be a little hard to get to. This is a service apartment. The kitchen has full equipment and ready to use. We have rent a two bedroom studio. One queen size bedroom and one twin bedroom. The beds are very comfy and the bed sheet are clean. There are just some minor problem with the hotel. Such as the tv control is not working and the chair in the room is broken. Overall it is a very good hotel if staying around at the Auckland city.

Great affordable accommodation in Auckland ”

We stayed 5 nights in a two bedroom appartment. The living area was really small but I can't complain as no other 2 bedroom apartments were even close in price to tetra Waldorf. The location is excellent - close to everything and there's a convenience store and reasonably priced cafe down stairs. I had read previous reviews about the cost of parking through the hotel being too expensive, so we parked at the Wilson car park down the road to get the $6 over night rate. What we didn't know was that you had to get your car out before 6am so we ended up paying $46. The next night we parked on the street accross the road (free from 6pm - 8am) but someone smashed the back window and broke into the car. After that we decided to bite the bullet and pay $20 per night for the hotel car parking which was much more convenient because you can come and go as you please. Internet is only $15 per week which was pretty good. We will definitely stay here again. We had no issues with noise and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

I booked a place to stay for my parents at the Tetra for their 3 nights visit to Auckland and they've had a very nice stay. The staff was super helpful and very prompt to answer my needs. Thank you.

Good location, nice private space”

We really enjoyed our stay at tetra apartments. When we arrived, they gave us a free upgrade to a one bedroom even though we only purchased a studio. The location is great... Close to downtown and walking distance from most sights. However, it is at the top of a hill, so if you are arriving by bus, make sure you get dropped off a the too, not the bottom :)! The only downsides were the Internet was charged (but reasonable at $5 a day) and the cooking pans were horrible. We trie .d making eggs and sausage for breakfast, but even after I spread way too much butter on the pan, the sausage was even sticking!

Is a great city center hotel! The hotel is very clean and the shower is nice with hot water and strong water pressure! Definitely will choose this hotel again for my next trip to Auckland again.

good place to get some sleep”

Did not plan to spend long in the room. It was small but clean and bug free.I would recommend asking for a room with a view however I was travelling on a budget so can't complain my room was basic without a view. There was a bit of noise on Friday night, not the other residents but yahoos in the street, being a reflection of the location in Auckland, well within the Auckland University district.

Adequate budget hotel”

This was a perfect budget hotel for a business visit to Auckland where all I used the room for was to sleep and clean up. Room/suite was spacious and had all amenities. Bed was comfy. Slightly disconcerting stain on the couch, but there is really no point in criticising a property such as this as you get what you pay for: value.

Right the one for romance with Coco”

I will never forgetTetra Waldorf Apartments, we stayed the first 2 nights when we arrived at Auckland. Coco end I enjoyed 3+5 there.

Affordable place in the middle of town”

Good place to stay near Queen Street Auckland CBD... but please book your parking ahead of your stay.. or you will have to park by the sideways of at the nearest wilson parking which is extreamly expensive!!

The apartment is centrally located. Easy access to shopping street, walking distance. Easy access to public transport. Near the university. Excellent view of the Auckland Sky Tower especially at night.

Served my purposes well”

I was only in Auckland for a few days to do business. The location is convenient and close enough to shops and so on for my wife and son to do other stuff while I worked. Room was quiet and clean, with a fully functional kitchen.

Pleasant”

I'd start with the worst part. The car park. The directions were bad and the car park is hidden somewhere. So... Budget some car park hunting time when you reach. Now, on to the good things. The location was close to the city centre and everything was walking distance. However, the apartment is situation on an up slope. So walking around would definitely help you break a sweat. The room is small and cozy. The place was pretty clean. The area wasn't noisy. And it was a nice place to rest for a night. This is also one of the least expensive and value for money accommodation near auckland city. I like it a lot for what it's worth. This is a residential area for university students. So you'd find a lot of them coming in and out of the facilities. There is no staff around at night.

Well located (although at the top of the hill if carrying shopping). Neat and clean and staff reasonably helpful. Main issue was that the free WIFI was VERY POOR. Would connect OK but dropped out ALL THE TIME. I think they wanted you to sign up for the WIFI at cost. Also room quite stuffy. It was humid in Auckland and the room reflected this. At least the Tetra did provide a standing fan which helped (a little) to circulate the air. I saw a few other occupants with their doors propped open so this must be a general issue.

Nice apartments”

Cleanliness was good overall, kitchen floor could be better but bed linen, bathroom, crokeries were perfectly clean. We stay with my 2y old daughter, she has space to run and play. But she couldn't shower without you so you have to shower at the same time,not an issue for us. Just no internet since even with the provided bulky modem you still need to subscribe, but there is free Wifi in Auckland city!Only drawback is the mattress which was dam too soft,not nice for the back!location is good since just few hundreds meters from the main street BUT it is up hill so nice in the morning but tiring after a day of walk

Just what we were wanting.”

It was far better than a hotel room and having two bedrooms was great with the kids. We were visiting family at the Auckland University so just across the road from the Halls was perfect. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Parking was just across the road and being the weekend it cost us only $12 for the whole time. The men at check in and check out were very pleasant. I will happily stay again.
