Really nice staff, not so clean bathrooms”

Location wasn’t bad. Everything is pretty close on Gili since it’s such a small island. Simple breakfast in the morning, either banana pancakes or toast and eggs. Staff was really nice. Facilities were eh, cleanliness was eh. Whenever we got the room I don’t think they cleaned the bathroom since the last guest. At least the AC worked well though.

As first information the actual “Syifa Homestay” is destroyed by the earthquake and they are rebuilding it. So, temporarily, the accommodation is at the “Gerald Homestay” (next door). Due to that, the pictures that you see are not what you get, even if it’s similar. THE ROOM was clean (Indonesian standard) and the linen and towels too. During the day it can be very hot, but in the night you can sleep perfectly with a fan. There is only “cold shower” (as they say in the description), but low pressure. THE STAFF was very friendly and funny. They prepared a really tasty omelette and hot tea, but you can choose between other options). It’s very basic but definitely good for what you pay. THE LOCATION is very quiet despite the mosque that you can hear more than once during the day/night (there are two). Anyway, we think that everywhere on the island you can hear it (we even heard it when we where on Gili Meno). The place is 7 minutes walk from the harbor/main street and 15 minutes from the top of the hill (viewpoint). We suggest you to take a gallon of water in the shop next door. You pay 28’000 rupia for almost 20 liter. So, you don’t waste plastic and money (you can even refill the gallon with 10’000 rupia). ;))

Pro - 100,000rp a night for a private double room on a nice island, stayed one night felt secure enough, fan in room when switched on helped to drown out the noise of the mosque loudspeaker throughout the night, polite staff, can rent a bike from them Con - Rooms small and old, seemed clean enough, bathroom hadn't been cleaned, water only warm, breakfast wasn't for us! Decent enough for an overnight stop if you're on a tight budget!

I stayed in this homestay alone as I needed some rest. It was OK but the room without the AC was rather hot and there was unfortunately a power cut for an entire night and the room became too hot. It could also not be ventilated as it was located in a small patio with no air flow really and there were mosquitoes. The room I stayed at was next to some kitchen because I could smell the oil early in the morning which was not that great either (different rooms might be better, mine was a corner room on the ground floor). Otherwise the place was reasonably clean and OK for a night or 2 and the staff was friendly.

We stayed here for 3 nights, it was a great location just a 5min walk from the boat terminal and main area with loads of restaurants, bars and beach. Rooms are very basic but so cheap so well worth the money plus the breakfast was great too. Staff were very helpful, if they are not manning the reception of Syifa1 they are across the walkway in Syifa2. Always there to help, we had a fantastic experience of being more in a local area than the busy built up area at the front. I'd like to take this opportunity to mention Ayenk and thank him for all of his hard work. He was there 24hours making sure we had everything we needed and he loved learning about us and our culture so make sure you take the time to engage in conversation and share stories from your countries. Would highly recommend and would go back and stay again. And as for the mosque being loud.... It is heard around the FULL island so not just here. We even heard it from one of the other islands. Enjoy.

선풍기 방에서 지냈습니다. 가격 저렴하고 위치도 항구에서 걸어 들어가기 용이해서 길리 첫 4일을 아주 잘 지냈습니다! 직원분들도 친절하시고 저렴하게 무난하게 잘 지낼 수 있어요! 여기 옆 가게에서 시원한 물 6천 루피아에 사실 수 있습니다!! 에어콘이 아니기 때문에 다소 더우실 수 있어요. 욕실도 써어억 깨끗하다고 말 할 순 없지만 그래도 개인방 치고는 정말 싸게 잘 머물 수 있는 곳. 3일 예약하고 하루 연장 한 곳입니다. 제 방엔 베드버그도 없었어요-! 수건을 큰 거 두 개 주어서 좋았어요! 아침도 선택 가능ㅎㅎㅎ 다만 세안용품은 챙겨가셔야합니다~
