Wonderful peaceful quiet night stay”

Coming from ipoh using simpang pulai road to cameron highlands.. Arrive late evening after traffic jam passing brinchang night market.. still school holiday, night market area open every night. jam.jam..jam... road going to this cottage is same going up strawberry park resort. just be alert when arrive at "Y split road, read yellow sign board. the arrow at yellow sign board will point road to this cottage. other signboard point strawberry park. though not 5 star or 4 star.. i am very satisfied with this cottage. their agoda price is good.. no need pay expensive prices to larger but older overused hotels in busy noisy brinchang main business district/night market area. i want cool highlands peaceful stay and i found this cottage very peaceful and relaxing. had a good sleep in peaceful quiet cool night.. location hillside that is still in less development. room is clean good condition garden has nice view outside look of buildings style is the colonial old days feel. shower -hot water from instant booster pump shower. -shower gel -shampoo -shower cap room lcd tv kettle hair dryer may request from lobby/office. wifi signal is weak to phones. but no worry my alfa long-range access point/repeater has login to their wifi and rebroadcast their wifi for all my phones and notebook.. the friendly person attending this hotel say their cottage was open less than 2 years.. so everything is new condition. keep up the good work. i will be back to stay next time. recommend to all my friends.

Very Relaxing Place To Stay With Family For Bonding Time... ”

AS WE ARE STAY IN THE BUNGALOW SUITE; UPPER/2nd LEVEL with 1 DELUXE & 2 SINGLE BED (ROOM NO. M-08) CONS; 1) As usual rcvd fm others ~ Hot Water pressure was LOW eventhough there is self independence Water Pump in the bathroom as there is still not enough pressure as SUNLIGHT SUITE SDN BHD must encounter this issues. 2) NO BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER/SUPPER (unless requested by group as they need to hire catering) 3) If your holiday on the weekend, try to avoid going out at night as there is very bad traffic especially for NIGHT MARKET. PROS; 1) No issue on CLEANLINESS & HYGIENE. 2) At night, the weather was so cold (at that time). 3) Nice view in the morning when u look thru ur window. 4) This is the best place if you're looking FOR RELAXING fm busy/hectic WORLD! RECOMMENDED; PREPARE YOUR OWN MEALS BEFORE CHECK IN/ARRIVE & ENJOY THE SUPERB VIEW WITH ROMANTIC SURROUNDING. # I WOULD DEFINITELY CHOOSE THIS PLACE TO STAY FOR MY NEXT CAMERON HIGHLANDS TRIP!!!

Friendly staff. I am visit to Cameron Highland during low peak season and order for 2 pax room. During check in, staff told me that they change us to 3 pax room due to the room suppose we take have some facilities malfunction. I feel so glad. Cameron Highland weather is cold and damp, thus room have some damp smell, smell will be gone when window is open. Only thing is I do hope management can put more focus on the cleanliness of bed sheets and cover. I like their bungalow environment, if you really think of relax, wanted a peaceful moments with your love one. This place definitely can let you away from disturbance. They have lovely garden besides Moonlight Bungalow. If lucky enough and you able to wake up early, you could catch the beautiful sunrise. At night, without raining, clear sky, you could catch sky full with twinkle twinkle little star. Well, overall I am satisfy.

A small piece of peace”

just wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of kl so decided to take a trip to cameron highland. logon to agoda and just search for the cheapest room i can find. agoda gave me jim thompson at a good price and i took it. eventualy there was some confusion to where is the entrance to the plac ebut it was solved quickly after i saw the small signboard showing the location of the cottage. lovely little room they gave me but the water heater just couldnt cope with the cold water from the water tanks. there is no canteen, or cafe. if there is 1 then this place would be perfect. brinchang town was very near but the traffic jam is horrible. all in all i love the location and the room and will be returning again soon.

You could not get a better picturesque scene anywhere in Cameron highlands. Amazing spot with beautiful garden, a lot of space for chill, we actually loved the time spent at this cottage rather than any other touristic part of the highland. Strongly recommended. Staffs are so friendly and accommodating. Free parking. Will be back again and it’s also perfect for big group stay. Kudos to the management to maintain the place and the garden especially.

Pro: Good accomodation to stay for holiday at beautiful and sceneric location. Enough parking. Cons: Met other people paying less then us and booked rooms at same with us, but however they stayed in the bunglow. Have to be spesific with which room you are offered. So we feel the price is value for money. Overall, we recommeded to other people to come and it is a nice place to get some relax, calm and enjoy beautiful nature in Cameron Highlands.

A good-to-have Cameron Highland experience”

We booked 2 rooms (a standard, and a triple). This place consists of quite a number of individual rooms spread around 2/3 small buildings. These buildings are in between the Sunlight Cottage and Moonlight Cottage (Jim Thompson) that are rented out whole only. I could tell that many of the comments in the past reviews were already improved on by the owner (road has now been lit, beddings and towels don't smell although wear and tear is there) so this was good to see. These individual rooms are fairly basic - no frills and similar to a Bed&Breakfast without the breakfast. No dedicated place for luggage and clothes hanging space and hangers are limited. Bathrooms were retrofitted and don't have ventilation and bathroom floor is perpetually wet. Wet bathroom smell gets into the room area. The installed shower water heater did a gallant job producing luke warm water but it was really cold out there on the hilltop and the water tanks are fully exposed to the wind. A thrill to experience!

The only Hotel make us wish to stay again”

Amazing, we fall in love with this place, really enjoy our stay, we normal visit Cameron for short trip every 3 month and stay in difference hotel, this is the only Hotel that we wish to stay again. Feel like our home, during week day we almost own the whole place, the garden, the cottage, the view, the fresh air and more.... The signboard was clear with the location, just same road as strawberry park resort and follow the Jim Thompson Cottage signboard. No breakfast? Does't not matter, it can be cover up with other best point, there is Coway hot/cold water dispenser, kettle in the room, just bring your coffee/tea or bread or half boil eggs, enjoy it with the view.... we spend most of time here instead of visit tourist place.

Basic room and facility but great garden. ”

We booked for a room at the Sunlight Suite, but it is actually not a room inside the bungalow, but another building built separately beside the bungalow. The room has mold smell, poor ventilation and very basic facility. Worse than a normal budget hotel room. The room going up to the suite is quite dark and narrow, suggest to travel in group for safety. However, the plus point is they have a beautiful garden and breath-taking views from the garden. 5 minutes to Strawberry Park resort, Smoke House and Golden Hills Night Market. Had fun taking photos around the garden. Better if they have more types of plants with better gardening. Overall, only the garden and view is worth the money. Rooms need to be improved.

Just checked out from JTC yesterday. I took the risk booking it despite all negative comments I saw on internet and it turns out great. The room is clean, not smelly, water heater working fine if you turn the switch on for some time before shower. The lady at the front desk is super friendly - sorry I didnt get the name. I had to book a triple room for only two of us because that was the only available on internet. When she found out she upgraded us to the bungalow. We had a big beautiful room with a fireplace ^^. The living hall is awesome 😄😄.. enough parking space, great view and beautiful garden make it a true English cottage feel.. and it is far from all the traffic and chaos, there's even a back road to reach brinchang town to avoid the horrible festive season traffic! It would be even greater if they can have a small cafe there 😊😊 I will definitely come back again!

Feels like living during the colonial era, feels like home, but high on top of the mountain”

I love the outlook of the cottage with the nice garden. Designed during the British colonial era. Feels like home, with fresh and cool weather. the temperature was 17 deg C at night. Feels private and quiet. Safe for children. I took the family room because i have 4 small kids..it fits very well without any issue. Bedroom is clean and comfy. Very suitable if you are looking for a private place four your small family retreat. Comparatively cheap. The cottage didn't prepare any sort of food at that moment. We have transport and drove to Brinchang town.. just 5 minutes away. The whole trip was great and i will be back here again in the near future.

Just Perfect to Nature”

Loved the Place for its open Garden with Amazing Scenery. The garden was bloomed with colourful flowers to fruits and vegetables planted. They had amazing INSTAGRAMABLE setups at every corner. Lots of outdoor sitting places for you to enjoy the weather,scenery, sunset & sunrise. The place was situated at the top of a hill for its amazing view. It was convenient as it was at the just right place to go to the night market or to shop some stuffs at the town. 5-10mins ride down. Went on a public holiday and the location of the place helped us to grab whatever we need and enjoy it at our place avoiding most of the traffic time. We had a sitting garden right infront of our room which would fit a whole group to sit and talk/laugh. If your going in a huge group this place is perfect. People there were very friendly. They provided all the facilities they could as in a cottage styled accommodation. Clean & Tidy. Cons: The shower wasn’t hot enough to cope the weather. But we still managed to get a warm bath. There were no restaurant or cafe at the place itself. We had to go down to have dinner/ or would grab some food up and have it there which was way perfect then sitting in restaurants. Overall would gv this a 5Star🌟 ! I dint want to get stuck in a fancy hotel led building in Cameron being a nature themed destination. This placed was just open to nature. That’s what I Loved❤️

I WAS HAVE A NICE VACATION ON MY CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY AT CAMERON HIGHLAND. THE HOTEL IS A GOOD LOCATION NOT SO FAR AWAY FROM THE BRINCHANG TOWN, AND THE HOTEL HAVE A NICE ENVIROMENT, MY SON IS ENJOY WITH THE PLAYGROUND. I JUST FEEL THE CHARGES IS TOO HIGH DUE TO THE HOTEL DUN HAVE ANY FACILITIES, JUST A SMALL ROOM. THE TV ONLY CAN SHOW 3 CHANNEL (TV3, SPORT AND A NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC). I ONLY CAN LOOK AT THE STAR WHEN IN THE NIGHT. AND I FOUND A BIG SPIDER IN MY ROOM. THERE WAS NO FAN IN THE ROOM. ANYWAY, I STILL ENJOY MY VACATION HERE, BUT IF THE FACILITIES IS MORE COMPLETE, I WILL MORE ENJOY IT. HAHAHA.

Just what we expected”

We booked the cheapest room through Agoda, because all we were looking for was a comfortable bed, clean room, and a good shower. At Jim Thompson's Cottage we found all three, along with well maintained surroundings, accompanied by peace and quiet as a bonus -- January is a slow month in an area known for rains, road washouts, and landslides, but we were quite surprised to find ourselves the only guests during our 2-night stay. Although there were no food facilities, we were able to find coffee at reception and a kettle in our room. The nearby eating establishments offered a variety of foods to suit any palate, and we availed ourselves of their hospitality. We found the history of the place quite interesting, not only because of the disappearance of Jim Thompson in 1967, but also because of its war-time tenant Denis Emerson-Elliot, a British spy during WW II, after whom Ian Fleming modelled his James Bond character. It has been rumoured that Mr. Fleming, during the same war, trained in the art of espionage at Camp X, which was located in my home town of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, giving me another point of discussion when I return home. The best surprise of all was the weather -- blue skies and brilliant sunshine for the 3 days we were there -- although we can't credit Jim Thompson's Cottage with that. Altogether a wonderful experience with one drawback -- our room was not serviced on the day between the two nights we stayed there. Previous guests had noted this in their reviews, so we weren't surprised, but might have expected some service since we were the only guests at the time.

Quiet hillside scenery.”

Stop by again at this cottage hotel as i was travelling back from Penang to Kuala Lumpur. This hotel is at a hillside nearby to Strawberry Park. their road is a a Y-Split junction on the same road going up to Strawberry Park Hotel. be aware their yellow sign board for turning into their hill road. holiday season is over and normal workdays. Cameron Highlands and hotels in the area has less visitors. No traffic jam. Quiet, peaceful rest in the hillside for 1 night before back to busy KL city.

A modest and a great place to avoid the crowd.”

Love it! Think of this place as a mix of an english cottage and Malaysian style homestay (without cooking). Nothing much to expect but this place is as calm and quite as you can get in Cameroon. Best place to avoid the crowd. Its not a big hotel and probably only have a few rooms for guests. Situated on top of a hill on an already a highlands, this place has a great view. The road up to this place is daunting to say the least but worth the effort, I suggest avoid going up or down at night. My room is quite nice, and large enough. Same with other hotels, there wont be any air condition, and its fair because you wont need it. To me, everything inside the room is satisfactory. There is a nice vantage point and flowers garden, a great photo op, but that's pretty much it. You need to go down for food and other things. MAYBE next time I can come with a group and have a BBQ in the hotel's vicinity. It looks like it is possible.

Nice place to stay and revisit again at historical place! Nice garden, private place & 180 degree view point on top of hill to see some part of Cameron like night market. A way even from busiest Cameron. A place to watch sunrise and sunset.

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle Cameron Highlands area, but a hidden gem I'd say esp for Jim Thompson fan. Overall a pleasant stay as staff are quite friendly and the garden is lovely.
