Non-Seaview Family Suites”

We were staying at 1926 Heritage Hotel, which was closer to town. And decided to try something different and took a flash deal with Agoda for 2 nights at Suites @ Straits Quay. It was convenient for us because we had a car. For foreigners, you may need to take a taxi. The problem was finding 'Marina Suites at Straits Quay' because that name does not really exist anywhere outside nor inside. All you could find is 'Straits Quay'. For those who don't know, it's actually the same as Straits Quay. The suites are located from 1st floor to 6th floor. Checking-In may be confusing, but just go to the information counter/reception to tell them that you've bought a room from Agoda. They will know how to guide you from there. We were guided by a man to our room (Non-Seaview Family Suites). It feels just like a luxury studio, with well equipped kitchen, toiletries, bedroom and TV with limited cable channels. There are cafes, bars, a boat dock, lighthouse and sea view on Ground Floor. There is also a marshmallow coffee place called huey & wah café. Some shopping available too. You could even make use of the facilities such as tennis, swimming pool, gym and some others. Location wise, it's 10 minutes drive away from Gurney Drive, 20-25 mins away from Batu Feringghi, 30 mins away from Georgetown.

Lovely Hotel at a Great Location”

Everything about the stay is just too good! Definitely will come back the next time I wish Penang! The hotel location is somewhat strategic, it's at a newer area of Penang but only a short less than 10 minutes ride to the Gurney Drive. Upon arrival the staff were there to guide us to our room and we were delighted as the place is clean and spacious. Wifi speed is really fast! They even provide DVD's for us to watch as well as a mini TV for the bath tub in the bathroom. Overall a comfortable place to stay, especially with family! Also the hotel is above/next to the Straits Quay shopping mall. PERFECT if you want to shop and head back for a quick rest if needed :)

Nice Hotel and Lobby”

Having a enjoyed night at straits Quay Marina Hotel. There got nice lobby,bathroom with television and so on. Besides that, hotel downstairs still have lots of shop, it is convenient for us to fulfill our requirement Last, I very enjoy my day at straits Quay Marina Hotel, and i will go there again with family.

Simply worth every penny spent”

we arrived at the Strait Quay Mall around 1.45pm and trying to find the person handling the check in for us. after calling a few times, he run to us and apologies for keeping us waiting. apparently they are trying to clean up the room for us. when we went up to the room, my kids were shouting hooray cause the interior of the room is just simply amazing. they are six of us (3 adults, 1 older kid and 2 young kids) but we don't feel cramp in the room at all. Later the kids went to the pool located at 3A floor and again all of us were totally charmed by the beautiful scene in front of our eyes. The check out part was even better, quick check out without waiting is another thing that we feel so convenient. I believe my next trip to Penang will still return to this hotel again! 2 thumbs up!!

Very nice and convenient location”

it was indeed a nice location and hotel to stay in. 7 of us including my two kids age 3-5 loved this hotel. my daughter liked the swimming pool very much that she's willing to skip her afternoon nap. as it wasn't a school holiday when we went, we had the pool all by ourselves. the hotel staff, were superb friendly and my requests via sms to them were replied and attended promptly. i expected more shops at the straits quay marina mall but unfortunately, there weren't much to see. the only thing that the hotel might want to improve is to provide more cutleries such as bowls and plates as penang food are too delicious that we couldn't stop eating the all day long.

Nice big rooms with ample furnitures”

The actual name is The Suites at Straits Quay (Service Apartments). When we arrived at SQ and asked 3 of the security staffs for the car park nearest to the 'Straits Quay Hotel', and all of them claimed that 'there is not hotel' in SQ. They even advised us to look around out at the main road a couple of hundred metres away. This confusion wasted us almost an hour spinning our car around on the island. Finally returned to the same place. However, the stay was very pleasant and would recommend it to family travellers.

Perfect holiday in penang with a perfect place to stay”

Stayed for 2 nights here.was awesome.had all the facilities.car park,gym,swimming pool,stove,refrigerator,utensils. Auite was well organized. Thanks to MR Yeoh who helped us with the speedy check in. Very near to gurney drive and waterfall hilltop temple.any family going for Thaipusam in Penang I would certainly recommend this place. The straits quay mall is just nestled around it hence easy to buy things. 2 Thumbs Up.

Nice and clean suites”

This is not really a hotel. It is located above the Straits Quay Marina Mall. There is no front desk for check-in, etc. However, I received a sms before I arrived to confirm on my estimated time of arrival. In the sms, they have given me the direction to meet with the person-in-charged and their contact numbers. The service is quite okay. The suite we got has one bedroom and a living hall with a small kitchen area. There is a big balcony but no seaview. The balcony is facing the car park building. The suite is fully furnished with a king size bed, two daybeds and a sofa bed. It is just nice for 5 persons. There is a washing machine in the suite too. Overall, the suite is quite nice and clean. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Very pleased with the spaciousness of the room,the amenities and the cleanliness of the room.The quietness and tranquility of the surrounding areas offers a peaceful and relaxing stay.Will definitely stay at the Marina Suites at Straits Quay for next Penang trip.A sea facing room if not too pricey will definitely be my choice for my next visit.

Very spacious hotel with marvellous location”

happy with the service provided by the concierge. when we arrived at the service apartment, we were quite surprised that the room was very big and spacious. i was also quite surprised to see a tv set in the bathroom. imagine tubbing and watching tv! i was with my family of 5 including me and it was more than enough to house everyone in my family. the nightlife and bars at straits quay was quite cool and i had some drinks with my brother at the library bar. view was good with the view of the sea. one bad point is that there were quite a lot of mosquitoes in the apartment. but once the insect repellent was switched on, it wasn't much of a problem.

Excellent service”

Excellent place, quiet enjoyable for family, great position New as I heared couple of months old, great view watching the yatches, clean the room service is great. Any one thinking of visiting Penang I recommend Straits Quay and he will not regret this place.

Wonderful service apartment with service to match”

Luck shone on me when I found Straits Quay Marina Suites at a deal that left me wondering if it was real for a long time. The place is new so there may be some difficulty getting to it and taxis are not readily available but totally worth the trouble. Checking in was a pleasant surprise. We were served welcome snacks at a cafe while checking in. The serviced apartment felt luxurious. Only drawback was that it was hard to reach housekeeping or get help. Sms was the way to go.

Fantastic apartment suite hotel”

staffs are very friendly and helpful. when we arrived, they helped us carried our luggage to our room and we were also given a short tour of the shopping mall. the room was well furnished and clean. the television and beds were awesome! the bathroom was really clean too. overall, a great experience in the suite and we'd definitely recommend straits quay to our family and friends.

Lovely Comfortable Service Suite”

We were very happy with our suite in Straits Quay. The available facilities were excellent and new, quiet environment, clean and posh furnishing, located near the sea and convenient access to F&B and retail outlets. There was a flea market during our weekend stay. Wish we could have stayed more than 1 night!

massive apartment in a great location”

Marina suites is a fairly new apartment complex. Most of the apartments are private and not available to rent. This one is a one bedroom apartment with nice living room and kitchen and two bathrooms. It feels massive compared to normal hotels. It is professionally run and checking in and out is friendly and painless. All in all we were very happy here. Pros Huge suite High class modern building Good pool and gym Great places to shop eat and drink downstairs Cons No views Balcony has mosquito problem so we didn't use it Massive TV but hardly any English channels. No sport, movies or news Kitchen bare. Only one glass, one bowl,etc

Fabulous Hotel.”

We stayed for 2 nights and since my family and I had a splendid stay at the hotel. We will definitely return to Straits Quay for our future vacation to Penang. The staffs were very friendly and provided us a 6 star service.

I like straits quay VIP Suite room very much.The rooms is clean..comfortable...and my child enjoy when he bath cos inside bathroom have LCD.The staff very friendly and helpful.

Suited our requirement for the Ramadhan month”

Marina Suites is not a hotel. It was more of a homestay as it is more of a one bedroom apartment that has been converted. Towels were not provided. No staff in attendance. Could fit 5 people. Double beds were too small and extra beds had very thin mattresses. TV in the bathroom didn't work. Nonetheless, it suited us as it had a kitchen so we could prepare for our fast in the morning without worrying about where to look for food at 5am. Although cutlery and crockery were provided, it would have been better if we had been informed of the availability of the kitchen, so that we could have brought cutlery & crockery from home. All in all, it was a pleasant stay eventho I had expected better sleeping conditions as it is at Straits Quay.

We will stay at Marina Suites for our next visit to Penang for sure..the bathroom was nice & big..the room was comfortable too..u don't need to worry about food,there's a plenty of nice restaurant for u to choose,highly recommend for a big family!

great location with a beatiful marina bay”

furnishings not in keeping with beatiful apartment,with a small kitchen,we had a great stay there as we had afunction at the straits quay convention centre,very convenient,everything new and pleasant to walk around,convenient coffee bean,starbucks and fish and chips place forgot the name,also have a pappa rich and a irish pub.
