I might not be the best person to recommend places to go to El Nido because I’ve only been there once. However, since I planned my trip way in advance, I had months to look for the perfect accommodation for myself. Being a traveler, I know for a fact that I don’t need a fancy room as I will spend most of my days and nights outside my room. However, for me to consider a hotel/hostel, they need to meet the following: 1. Clean and decent Bathrooms with Hot Water 2. A nice bed 3. Situated in the Town Proper so that it’s close to everything 4. Low price 5. Generator 6. WiFi Thus, after weeks of searching, I found a hostel that met all of my needs: Spin Designer Hostel located at Balinsasayaw Road. Trip Advisor and Booking.Com rated this at 4.5 in a 5 point rating scale. Facebook users rated it as a 5! One of the things that excited me the most with my trip was this hostel. The Interior of this Spin Hostel was so well thought out, as well as the features and small details such as: a bedside pocket to put all of your small items, an individual lamp for reading, and outlets right next to your double bed to charge all of your gadgets. Private rooms are available, but since I was traveling solo, I got myself a bed in one of the Ladies’ Dorm for around P900/night. In you get the dorm room, you’ll be surprised on how comfortable their double deck double beds are. You’d love the comforter blankets and soft pillow. The room also has black out curtains, AC and fan, and spacious lockers with padlocks. I especially like the shared bathrooms. I am particular with clean bathrooms and surprisingly, the bathrooms are well maintained and cleaned almost every hour. There are even hand towels by the sink which are also refreshed by the invisible maintenance person. There are separate rows of toilets which are totally private and then a separate row of shower rooms, which are so spacious and private that you wouldn’t think that you are in a shared bathroom. Best hostel in the Philippines!”

Spin Designer Hostel levels up the standard of all hostels in the world. Complete facilities, nightly events, courteous and helpful team & crew, and very spacious beds and rooms. What more can you ask for? I stayed here for four (4) nights, and I never had a dull moment. The vibe is simply distinctive! I also love their included breakfast in the morning and readily available drinks anytime of the day. Go to their patio and you’ll enjoy an breathtaking view of the stars while drinking booze. If you need some downtime, you can hang out at ‘The Nest’ where you can chat, play board games, or just simply sing along taped or live music with the other friendly guests. The only thing I noticed that they lack is a good set of songs to complement the hostel’s energetic vibe. So, what I did was, I asked permission from the Spin team if I could I hook in my phone to their speakers and play my party and acoustic mixes—and they gladly affirmed I can! I did this for two nights on a weekend just to maintain the lively atmosphere of the hostel. The Spin team and the guests loved the music, so I gave the team the link to my Spotify playlist. It was a very excellent stay at Spin Designer Hostel. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends who will be going to El Nido this summer.

Memories In a Not So Familiar Place”

I love to travel and explore places, meet people and at the end of the day stay in a safe and restful place. In all my travels i always look up for a peaceful evening. The solace of that idyllic location was realized when i booked my stay for six nights at Spin Designer Hostel-El Nido. I stayed at the hostel from April 12 to 18, 2018. Those six days and nights were really quite exhilarating to say the least for i have found my second home. We Filipinos love our families and at the Spin Hostel i found my second family. I was well taken cared for by the staff and even the managers of the hostel go out of their way to attend to your personal needs. My most special thanks to a beautiful lady manager who adopted me as his tatay (father). To best describe the hostel in one word would be "COMPLETE", yes, "COMPLETE", meaning safe (well lighted, sound structures, accessible fire exits, guards, etc.), 24-hour water supply (with laundry area), name it they have it, in short "COMPLETE".

Exceptional”

I had the most amazing stay at Spin Designer Hostel. Don, Mae and Arvie were such wonderful hosts. They really made our holiday unforgettable. They have a theme every night to keep you entertained including wild Pubcrawl nights...if you feel like having a good time or watching a film on movie Night to wind down. Breakfast is included with pancakes, eggs, Fruit and all kinds of breads etc. We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night. If ever you’re planning to head to El Nido make sure to stay here! Believe me, you will not regret it! Spin Designer is worth every penny!

Best Hostel stay in El Nido”

The hostel literally opened two days before we arrived and only another two days later it felt like it already had gotten hugely popular, guess word spreads fast. We felt like this is by far the best option you have in El Nido on a budget, most other hostels are just dark rooms in someones home. This however FEELS like home. "Design" Hostel is not exaggerated, everything has been thought out in the design and looks really really modern. Service is great, extremely attentive staff that care for every little and big request you have. You get breakfast in the morning, which would only be toast, butter, jam and fruits if they didn't also give everyone two free eggs and got someone to prepare them for you (e.g. sunny side up or omelette). Rooms are very clean, aircon works just fine plus they also have fans and lockers are very big. Bring your own locks though. Just one thing...we felt like there were bed bugs, we had weird marks on our body apart from the huge mosquito bites you seem to get in El Nido anyway. Minor issue though since the whole package is just awesome.

Perfect for a solo traveller”

To summarise I planned to stay in El Nido for 4 nights and I ended up staying for 9!! Spin was amazing, I have never stayed in a hostel like this before. The facilities are first rate! Each bed, even the bunk beds, are queen size, not singles, every bed has 4 plug sockets, and the lockers in the room are big enough to fully unpack and still store your belongings; small details which I felt made a real difference. Outside of the bedrooms the communal spaces are some of the best I’ve ever seen. The lobby is more like a boutique hotel with the most impressive bamboo roof, and then the outside terrace is perfect for sunbathing and partying at night. In the communal spaces the hostel also organise at least one event per day which brings everyone together. While I was there there was BBQ night, Movie Night, Beer Pong Night, Bar Crawl Night, Games Night... the list goes on. Solo travelling can be a little intimidating, but spin removed all the anxiety! Thank you to the staff!!

We are so lucky to experience 3days stay in Spin! We arrived at 4am but our check in time is only by 2pm, yet they let us have the buffet breakfast for free! Love it! We are a group of 6 by the way 😁 room is really spacious, neat and clean! Even the shared bathroom looks really nice and spacious. Hostel manager even joined our group as we eat our breakfast in our second day stay, he loves to see Filipino travelers as their guest. They prepare activities every night in the hostel that guests will enjoy and interact with other guests! Our group wish to stay longer and will definitely book again in Spin if we decide to come back in El Nido. Personally, breakfast buffet is what I really love in Spin 😂 thank you Spin, to sir Dondon and staffs! Hope to see you again!

Worth the money, fantastic staff”

The name Spin Designer Hostel did not disappoint. It's really is a designer boutique hostel that you would associate to Western world and definitely worth the try. The staff are very friendly from the reception (Arvie), the Hostel Manager (Don), the Guest Activity Coordinator (Ken) and all the other staff. The private room has a double bunk bed with nice toilet and shower. It has air conditioning unit and a ceiling fan. The beds have their own night/reading light and power outlet. Free Wi-Fi is available in the common areas. Lounge and kitchen area are connected. It has a comfy feeling. Wednesdays and Saturdays are BBQ Night which is worth the 300 pesos/person that we paid. You get all you can eat BBQ pork, chicken, grilled fish and squid and veges plus dessert. The only extras are the drinks. Sundays are Jamming nights which we were not able to see because we only stayed for a night. Breakfast was great - bread, fruits, eggs cooked to your liking and juices. And to top it off, we were shuttled to Lio airport for free by Don on their van. Hope to stay there longer next time we visit. Thanks Spin, such a wonderful experience, #letsgoforaspin.

Fresh air - unexpected ”

Gorgeous hostel, room and friendly staff! I was so impressed. I stayed in a 4-female dorm room which was absolutely massive with possibly a double bunk bed (seriously two could easily sleep there). Loads of room for storage, moving around the room and easy access to beds. You also got your privacy. This is even better than an average hotel. I would only stay at the Spin in El Nido. Staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. The design of the hostel is great! Loved a choice of breakfast too. Definitely recommend!

Sometime it's worth it to spend the money”

When I was coming to El NIdo, I had a hard time choosing between Spin and another place out of town that was almost half the price. In the end I went with Spin and I'm glad I did. I've never had any issues post diving but this time I did and my ears have been giving me issues for most of days since (free diving while on a island tour didn't help), Spin has been the perfect oasis since I haven't felt like doing much besides the island tour, which I forced myself to do. The breakfasts are pretty great. The WIFI which can be sketchy or barely functioning at other places has been strong and allowed me to call home (using google) and watch videos while trying to decide where to head to next. The only down side is the price but this is a case of you get what you pay for. I am afraid that Spin has spoiled me too much and I'm not sure I'm ready to rough it again. They also have nightly activities: an all you can eat BBQ (W + S p350), Margarita night, Pub crawl.

No thinking needed - Book it”

El nido is a little short on great accommodation for budget travelers. Spin is a happy exception. Even though we had seen the ratings/reviews Spin surprised us pleasantly. We stayed in a private room. The room and the bed was clean and comfy and the bathrooms are modern and spacious. There s a washing machine for any urgent laundry and their breakfast is great too. We loved the really chilled ot vibe to this place. Their staff is super helpful and really smart. We booked tours, van back to Puerto Princessa through them and we got really good service. Agoda is better priced than their website for the exact same room/amenities so I'd suggest booking here.

Home away from home :)”

It’s my first time in El Nido, was travelling solo and decided to spend three nights in Spin Designer Hostel. The moment you step inside, just WOW! Beautifully designed, clean, they have almost all the amenities you’d be looking for in a hotel (yes, they have a bidet. yay!) - you wouldn’t think that you’re staying in a hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Jules. And they make an effort to remember the names of their guests. They serve great breakfast and I love their BBQ night! Every night, they have cool activities so that the guests don’t get bored. I strongly recommend staying in this hostel because it’s everything a hostel is supposed to be, and beyond! Kudos to the team! I will be back for sure. :)

Must stay here - amazing hostel ”

I couldn't have been more impressed with Spin. Everything about it is excellent. It's as if they interviewed backpackers and asked what they want in a hostel and then did exactly that. The dorm rooms are modern, nice, and perfectly set up. Each locker is big enough to easily fit my large backpacking bag and my day pack in. The price includes breakfast which is delicious. I made a whole group of new friends all staying here. It's centrally located but just far enough from the center that it's quiet, close enough that it's no more than a 5 minute walk to everything. It's a bit pricier than other hostels in El Nido but absolutely worth it because you're getting much more value for your money. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

The best accommodation in El Nido.”

We want to stay more nights there at Spin Designer Hostel but the beds are booked so quick. I love everything about Spin Designer Hostel, the hostel design, the cleanliness, the staffs, the facilities and they even have weekly events there. Will go back to this hostel if I am going back to El Nido

More than expected”

I've lived and traveled in the Philippines for two years and this is by far the best hostel Ive stayed at. The staff knows you by name, there are fun activities and people to party with, but there's also quiet when you are ready to sleep after a long day island hopping. Each bed has four electrical outlets so fighting for an outlet to charge your phone or devices is not a problem. Additionally, you can sign up for island hopping from the hostel so you don't have to worry about searching around town for a tour and most people on your tour are solo travelers too... so making friends is effortless. This hostel is a little more than many other hostels in the Philippines, but the few extra pesos are MORE THAN worth it. Especially with the delicious western style breakfast included. I hope to come back to el Nido again and will definitely stay here and recommend it to anyone I talk to. Thanks for the great trip Spin!

AT EL NIDO, SPIN IS THE PLACE TO BE”

We weren't sure what to expect from Spin. We chose it initially because it looked pretty cute and it was affordable. But we loved loved loved it. It was a huge reason why we had the best time in El Nido. From the friendly and helpful staff to the overall experience of getting to know the other people from all over the world staying at the hostel, it really is what you want from a holiday. The interior was so cleverly put together as well. Next time we're at El Nido, we're sure to book our stay at Spin!

Nice Poshtel, nice people, nice city”

Spin Designer Hostel in El Nido is very nice and looks more like a hotel than a hostel. I had a great stay there and met many nice co-travelers. Be sure to bring some earplugs with you, as the fans in the rooms are quite noisey and the neighbourhood roosters won't let you sleep after 5am.

Great Hostel, Good Fun”

Where do I start!! Well with the staff I'd like to thank Don, jessa,Mae,Kevin,Anne and Jerome for making my stay so welcoming and fun. You never stop laughing and caring for your guests. The breakfast is great good selection. Themed evenings fun especially the beer pong night and good BBQ night which gets the hostel interacting. I had a private room which was fine, cleaned daily. So a big thumbs up to all the staff at Spin El Nido won't forget you. Will stay when I'm back In the Philippines next and will spread the word to friends who travel to El Nido. Best hostel in El Nido”

After going to 3 different hotels/hostels in El Nido, Corong-Corong and Caalan, Spin is hands down the best in every aspect. The design is great, rooms are comfortable and the staff goes way out of their way to help you. Being so close to town is a great advantage. You save a lot of time/money since you won't have to take a tricycle. The surroundings are lush and quiet despite the location.

First time to travel alone and opt to celebrate my birthday in El Nido. My friends recommended this hostel and i immediately checked the reviews. I booked this for 4 nights. The staffs were very nice and accommodating. The manager gave me free dinner since they have bbq party (buffet style) exactly on my birthday (Available on Wednesdays and Saturdays). Rooms and lockers are very spacious. I really hope they have more options for breakfast. Thanks Spin!! :)
