Pleasant Stay”

We have been going to Cebu regularly for the past 3 years. Lately we stay in La Mirada which belongs to the same group that owns Sotogrande. The facilities are commonly shared. I book Sotogrande this time because La Mirada just wasn't shown on Agoda's site for some reason. But the two hotels are very comparable. I find Sotogrande is a more mature hotel, meaning it is more an hotel than a serviced apartment. Perhaps it has a longer history, the operation seems to be better oiled. The room is comfortable, but the bathroom is a bit small. The hot water is only lukewarm. But in the tropics, a hot shower is not really a must. The key to the save deposit box is not with the box and we have to ask for it. Breakfast is so much better than at La Mirada, even though the restaurant is a bit small. Wifi at the lobby is unsteady. But it is still available. The beds are comfortable. The room is clean. The aircon and TV works (though cable selection may be somewhat limited). So the basic requirements are met. The price is reasonable. I still would like to see the hotel providing shuttle to the main road Maribago. Each customer is paying P50 extra to have a taxi called to the hotel. Just imagine the number of calls each day! That money could possible support a shuttle service (for Vista Mar, Sotogrande, La Mirada). It could drop people off at the Mactan NewTown for easy connection.

Being a first timer in Cebu had been a great experience especially with my stay at Sotogrande Hotel & Resort. It's located near the lovely beach of Punta Engano, and just minutes away from the airport and Marina Mall - the place to find good food, souvenirs, etc. I stayed in the Deluxe type of room, giving my half the beach and half the city view, which I enjoyed. The room was organized and the entire Hotel was spacious enough and neat. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the included amenities such as pools, sauna, Jacuzzi, and the beach. I also had the chance to taste a few of their dishes apart from the sumptuous breakfast buffet, and they were all delicious. I'd love to come back and enjoy more in this hotel/resort. It's being home away from my home, indeed!

We had a perfect vacation in Sotogrande hotel! The staffs are all friendly and approachable. The place is quiet and perfect for relaxation. We had a sea view room and my son enjoyed staying in the room. The room is big and clean, excellent for a family. I will definitely go back to this hotel and have our family vacation in the future. I told my friends that next time they visit to Cebu, they should also try Sotogrande hotel!

we choose the sotogrande due to its close proximity to the airport since we had an early morning departure out of the airport. the front desk was very kind and efficient. the room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed. sotogrande has several pools and a nice gym. the gym has a great fitness instructor. i think his name was rolly (sorry if i mispelled his name) sotogrande also has a breakfast buffet but i stay out late and always over sleep the breakfast meal but still a nice touch. i have stayed in the downtown area of cebu before, but its too loud and you can't breath due to all the diesel pollution from the vehicles. you are somewhat in an isolated area at the sotogrande, but the front desk will call a cab for you and the fare to go downtown is very reasonable. we enjoyed our stay and felt at home due to the wonderful staff.

sotogrande offers good value for money especially for travellers who are looking for a nice, quiet get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. it is near the beach, has its own swimming pool, gym, etc. it is pretty much a self contained resort. the hotel staff connected us with very reliable tour providers such as our own personal city guide with a private car, boat for island hopping. if you want to go to the city, you can take a comfortable taxi ride which will take about 30-40 minutes. the room was big. sheets and towels were clean. bathroom was also clean. the aircon worked well. we had a balcony where we could enjoy the wonderful seaview! overall, our experience was more than satisfactory!

Helpful Staff”

The hotel is located next to Vista Mar Resort. We could swam in the infinity pool in Vista Mar. The beach is great. We swam when the tide was high. We walked on the water weeds and found many starfish when the tide was low. Fishes were found in the water, not too many, however, and were afraid of people. A taxi going to the Cebu city costs you more than 250 pesos, and an hour and a half during rush hours. The restaurant in Sotogrande is recommended. I prefer the one in Sotogrande to Vista Mar. The staff at the reception helped me to exchange HK dollars in the money changer at the main road, when I have no peso in my pocket. This saved me much time. Thank you very much. And the room is big, one bedroom and one common room. But the bed is small, only a queen size bed.

A Very Relaxing Experience”

Sotogrande is a hotel owned by the same person who owns Vistagrande. Sotogrande is a newer building, but one can just cross the street and enjoy the amenities that are also available in the other resort. However, the pool of Sotogrande is the best I have seen so far, and the rooms are more comfortable. The location was quiet, the staff was accommodating. I had no complaints at all!

we stayed at sotogrande resort for 5 days and had a very nice experience! the ocean suite room was fantastic, big and comfortable with an excellent panoramic view of the ocean! the food was good and the breakfast buffet is adequate. the beach is very small and not a great place to swim, but the pool is nice. it was affordable, the hotel staffs are very friendly, and had nice small fitness room. the location is good, secluded and there aren't any beaches nearby. the only minus was no internet in the rooms, wi-fi only available in the lobby, and no air conditioning there. all days and nights we spent here are all worth the money spent. it was great for us because we just wanted to relax for a few days in the sun near the ocean. would recommend this hotel and we would come back!

exceeded my expectation”

I just had my stay at Sotogrande yesterday for 2 days via Agoda where i always purchase my accommodation, i stated my special request and to my surprise it goes beyond my expectation :). You let us stay in a poolview room which is very clean and with sweet scent. Since i specified their that i want that occasion to be special since its our prewedding get away you arrange a king size bed with good presentation of a lover swan with flower petals on it. You also gave us floral centerpieces and another great service is that you allowed us to check out late around 1pm. How am i supposed to thano you guys you really are improving everytime we visit you there :). We still see the old staffs especially the pool attendant who even recognized us :) but thought i was a korean at first hehehe. Food was great but hopefully more variants. You guys were very attentive to our needs. Im looking forward for more revisits with you guys. I just love Sotogrande more and more. Youve made our stay very memorable. And what i love the most is the very spacious and complete room amenities.

Second time I stayed there and will be back”

My wife and I stayed there for a second time this month. We went over to Leyte to visit family and friends. When we returned to Cebu we knew we would book a room again at the Sotogrande because of its tranquil setting and fantastic staff. We'll be back next year. The only downside that we found was that to access the wifi you had to go to the lobby. I was surprised that for a four star hotel all rooms were not set up for wifi.

the best hotel in mactan island(exept expensive hotels). the la mirada hotel and this hotel use same pool. good room, good people, but so far from cebu city. and too many koreans.. they made a noisy. but it's great choice! but restaurant's tax is so expensive.

AWAY FROM THE MADDENING CROWD.”

SotoGrande's location is ideal for a quick and quiet getaway. Definitely, away from the hustle and bustle of Lapu Lapu City, Cebu, the area is superlatively serene yet not far away from the things that makes the City a chaotic place to be. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and for no apparent reason (though a very happy turn of events), we were given a FREE UPGRADE! Thank you very much! The sunrise in our suite room is fantastic and enthralling! Very picturesque, and soothing to the soul. The beach is quaint and clean, with very few guests around. The pools (both at SotoGrande proper, and Vista Mar's) are well maintained. Filipino guests are outnumbered by Asian tourists (Koreans, Chinese, and Japanese), and it sometimes feel that one is in another country. The food is also sumptuous enough, and the resto offer many choices (as Vista Mar's kitchen is also open to SotoGrande's guests). I can't wait to be back.

we were there for the the new year's eve celebration. we went down at 10pm all dressed up only to find 10 people at the clubhouse where there was supposed to be a buffet dinner. until 12am, there was nothing really exciting at the clubhouse except fireworks that lasted earlier than those of other hotels that we could see from sotogrande. sotogrande is good for families on reunion who enjoy swimmming and relaxing at the beach who do not seek to see the rest of the island.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Sotogrande Hotel. The staff was helpful and very respectful. The place were the hotel was very secure because it was block wall all around. I feel safe letting my daughters out of the hotel when they wanted to. It was far from street vendors and little shanty stores. We had to take a cab every time we had to go sightseeing. The beach front was good for little kids to swim in and snorkling. The pool was not deep but spacious enough even if there were other people.

Great value for what you get ”

We were unfortunate to stay at the Be Resort the day before here. Sotogrande was way better and half the price. Nice enough beach and loads of pools to choose from. So what you have to walk 50 steps to get to the pools at the sister resorts. Friendly staff, but the only slight downside was the food price and quality. It was OK, but not great. But all in all we'll definitely come back here.

Great accomodation and affordable Hotel”

We stayed at Sotogrande Resort during Ironman weekend. We picked this hotel coz i know it is near ShangriLa (according to the map) but if the side gate of Shang is close, you have to go around and go to the main gate of Shang. Our concern in this hotel is that the location is a little bit far from the main street so you have to call the frontdesk for a cab. Sometimes cab arrive fast But if the hotel is fullybooked you have to wait a lil bit longer. Overall Staff Room Breakfast are all great. Btw, Improve Wifi connection in the room. ;)

Very nice hotel rooms are very cozy”

Nice hotel close to Mactan airport. You don’t have to worry about the crazy traffic in Cebu City. The only thing the breakfast is very limited. Make sure to wake up early! Or you’ll end up with left over! The breakfast in the morning gets really crazy especially on the weekend when the hotel is pack with hungry Asian tourist!

Had a very comfortable stay in the hotel. Staff was very friendly and attentive to our every need. Make sure to get the rooms with the ocean view. You'll get to see one of the best sunrise ever. The only downside is that its location is pretty far from Cebu City, which makes it very hard to hail a taxi. So you really have to plan your days. The area where it is situated is still being developed so don't expect much at night.I'll give the area a few years time before going back again and when I do, I will surely stay at Sotogrande.

We took our extended family to Sotogrande for post wedding vacation. The rooms were clean and spacious with great view. Air conditioner was Great and English channels on tv. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the waterfront pools are sensational plus you can use the facilities from surrounding resorts. Restaurant at Vista mar was ok but small servings and overpriced. Overall great place to stay. Loved it. 👍👍👍
