we had a fantastic stay - 3 nights- and would have liked to stay longer. we had clothes and shoes made - great prices. it way easy to exchange money and it was best to book tours there (rather than before you go). the tour to my son was for the day - it included lunch, a bus trip, a boat trip and a visit to a small island. you can walk everywhere, to markets, restaurants, attractions , the river and make sure you go across at night time to see the lanterns. we ate at the local restaurants, and enjoyed the blue dragon and bale well. must visit marble mountain - well worth the trip

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this lovely hotel for what we paid. Being a little out of town is the only drawback but it’s a 15-minute walk to town and the hotel offers free bicycles. We actually found a lovely little restaurant a 2-minute walk away in the street behind the hotel. Happened to be the best and cheapest food in Hoi An! I would definitely recommend the Emm Hotel.

This was one of the best, if not the best hotel we stayed in South-East Asia. It has everything you need. The staff is very friendly, helpful and polite, all the time basically. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean with a huge and comfy double bed, with a super convenient and big bathroom. We also loved the garden, it has a great pool and lots of colourful flowers, pool towels, it's a really nice place to relax and you can order drinks for a reasonable price. And the best was the breakfast, there was basically everything - buffet style and fresh made things as well. I would definitely come back to this hotel anytime, we loved it here a lot.

The laughter was joyful as I found paradise at the Ha An Hotel. Breakfast on the patio, gazing out to the lovely garden, was a highlight of the day. And what a fabulous breakfast! Fresh and wonderful dishes - Asian and Western-style - created by a very talented chef – the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had (see photos). Staff members are knowledgeable and very kind, offering expert recommendations of restaurants and tailor shops. They sent me on tours of the countryside, including an unforgettable visit to My Son temple. My room was like a cozy bungalow, with terrace shaded by flowering trees – a gorgeous and peaceful setting. Highly recommended.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the location of this hotel which was off the busy loud streets but only 5 mintes walk from the lantern/japanese bridge. Hotel was excellent, pool was a gret refreshment in the humid hot day, the room was very cosy a fitting the Hoi An style. As said in previous reviews, the staff here is the best! They are very polite and attentive, they arranged a good prices airport transfer for us as well as a private car w/ driver to My Son. Both very reasonable price. We even had our laundry done here and all was good. I would highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed for three nights and had requested a river view and balcony with our booking. This was well worth it as being able to sit out there watching all the activity on the river and to have our excellent breakfasts served there really made our stay. The interior rooms are nice but do not have views. The room was very well appointed and the bathroom stylish. The tour we booked to My Son was excellent and we were picked up at and returned to our hotel door. We also hired bicycles from the hotel for a dollar each and enjoyed exploring the countryside. We rode to the beach at Cua Dai but did not stop there as you are not allowed to take bikes onto the beach. We went a bit further along the coast and took a little side road down to a deserted stretch of beach with just fishing boats pulled up on the sand. We loved Hoi An with its ancient houses and fascinating market and the quieter atmosphere after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi!

We stayed at the Hoa My II Hotel with our family in December 2016. The family room was big, clean and comfortable; and even had a balcony. Breakfast was a really good range - and my kids ate lots of it - and was included in the room rate. The Hoa My Hotel II is well located, just a short walk into the old town and down to the river. They offer bikes for hire too, We booked a tour to My Son from the hotel too. Again a great value. Finally we noted that the bottles of water in our mini-bar were cheaper than the shops in the street, A small thing but just shows what great value this place this. Overall, I can't fault this hotel. It was perfect for a family trip to Hoi An.

We booked to stay for 2 nights at this hotel and ended up staying 4 nights. If we had had more time I could have easily stayed another four nights here. The rooms and clean, spacious and comfortable. They are also surprisingly quiet at night because the town doesn't have a huge nightlife. The staff are very helpful and can assist with other travel bookings. The hotel is in an excellent location, just a short walk down to the river area. I would recommend renting a bicycle for $1 a day from the place next to the hostel, it's such a great way to get around. Even though the traffic looks scary it's not that bad. Hoi An itself is a gorgeous place. The food here is the best in the whole of Vietnam and the shopping is very good (if not dangerous to your wallet). For tailoring I'd recommend either Kimmy's (just across the road from the hotel) or Yaly (down by the river). That is if you want better quality clothes made up. Also if you like art their is a really great gallery along the River. The local artist that they support has very bright and beautiful pieces of local scenery. The prices a very decent... My sister and I ended up but 4 paintings! All in all fabulous hotel and fabulous town. Definately recommend this place!

Areca Homestay isn't a homestay it's more of a family run guesthouse. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was an excellent standard, spacious, clean, nicely decorated, big comfy bed and nice bathroom. We stayed here 3 nights then went to Cham Island for 2 nights then came back here for another 2 nights. The second room was just as good as the first. The staff were always friendly and helpful, we booked a tour to My Son with them as well as our onward travel at very competitive prices. The location is in a nice quiet neighbourhood on a residential street and only a 5 or 10 minute walk to the old quarter. Overall good value for money and definitely one of the nicest places we've stayed in Vietnam!

i've stayed in hoi an a few times during my trip in various hotels before lucky house. the owner at lucky house is by far the kindest and genuine. this hotel being quite a new venture, his enthusiasm is infectious. he made me genuinely laugh and smile every time i came in the lobby and he will share stories with you despite the language barrier. we celebrated new year together which was great fun and he'll make you feel at home. perfect for solo travellers or couples. there is no food but you can easily find cheap places on hotel road. the rooms are very spacious and clean and the hotel is 10 min. max walking distance from town. convenient 24/7 shop very close to hotel. i would definitely stay there again and prices present the best value in town to top it all!

Nice family hotel, just 10 mins to center of Old Town. Many excelent restaurants or coffee around. Good beds, nice bathroom, balcon also perfect. Fridge included. But the best part is son with solid englis and honest hints. He is not tourist hunter like others and suggest (and organize) just really good trips, motorbike, what to visit or not, same with local food. I spent 6 week in Viet and this is definently best one!

When I arrived at the hotel the owner said that the former guest got sick and need to stay in the room until her flight at midnight. She offered me a room at her sister's homestay at the same standard. It was my first trip to Hoi An, so I was in any position to complain. The new accomodation was clearly NOT the same standard as the 2 star hotelroom I had booked. I had stayed in 1 star hotels in Vietnam with a better standard. On the plus side, the owner and her sister was very friendly. Her sister gave me a free ride to the bus station next day.

Location is not that far Hoi An ancient city only 10 min walk and if you can rent a cycle the it is only 2 min. The rooms are clean and worth the money that you are paying. But becareful of the extra services like tour and bus ticket which the hotel staff who is anxious to provide. I feel if you shop around the many booking offices around the hotel, you can get cheaper price.

Arrived very early and checked us in as soon as someone had checked out which was helpful. Staff booked tours for us and very friendly and helpful with the area. Very near town, 5-10 min walk to river and central market, lots of cheap food places to eat nearby. Room was big and clean only downside was beds were hard as rock and room smelt a little damp as had no window but all good other than that.

We enjoyed our stay at Phuoc An Hotel. The room was excellent and the management was knowledgeable and helpful. They found and reserved an excellent cooking class for me and they recommended a tailor who was able to quickly whip up a new suit for my son. They lent us umbrellas and bicycles as well. We were very happy with our stay. The included breakfast was hearty and of good quality.

It was perfect !! The staff is very nice very friendly and full of good advice ! They help us to book tour for My Son and also Cham Island with very attractive price and the tour were really perfect !! The location was closed to the old town (10 minutes walk) and close to An Bang beach (2 km 10 minutes by bike)! We really love our stay here!! The name of the hotel has changed is now called "the family" and we really feel like we are in a family :) Thank a lot for making our Hoi An stay so magical !! Lola and Claire

The homestay is situated in a quiet street, not fare from the old city. The lobby is big, nice and the breakfast is correct. Our room was very very big, well furnished, clean, nice and the bathroom was perfect as well. I think this is the best room i have ever been. The staff is friendly and helpful. They help for tickets, taxi, visit to my son, laundry and they have bikes. I really enjoyed my stay there. The only think i didn't like is that when we ask for staying more nights, the price was higher than before (booked with agoda). This is not very correct, but anyway it's not too expensive.

The room just ok but the blanket and the pillow are smelly, The shower was broken,we told the host to fix it for us but it wasn't fix good enough it was broke again when we use it :(.. The are some cockroach in the room, so prepare to screem. The wifi are so bad have no signal in the room and some time it just gone? .We stay in this homestay for 2 nights by booked form agoda 1 night and pay one more night by ourself. At first the host told us just pay the same price as agoda but after we pay (about 2-3 hours) the host ask us to pay them more money ? I have to show them the agoda price again before they let us go. Becarefull of the old lady from opposite buiding who try to sale tour and make you renting her bike and motobike , the price will never the same for exam renting the bike it can cost you 1 - 5 usd and she will charge you for everything ,so bewere. For us we will not book this hostel any more and will not recomented this hostel to anyone.

Well the title said all. First the location is great - just a 10 minutes walk from the old town, very comfortable walk. Restaurants and souvenir shops are nearby. It was initially hard to find because it is built on a clothing shop and the front of the shop is used for tailors and clothes display. Room was spotless and clean. The size of the room is suitable for three of us. Bathroom is spotless as well and the towels changed everyday. Though using only simple English, the staff will help you as much as they can to explain where to eat and hang out in Hoi An. They are really friendly and helpful the most. Breakfast is provided and has a few options - freshly prepared after you ordered - pho, noodle, cao lao, bahn my. Simple and fulfilling traditional vietnamese breakfast - but don't expect too much as prepared by 5 stars standard. Overall it is worth more than we paid

We booked 3 nights in this hotel. The room was nice, bed was very comfy and it was clean. The staff was nice and helpfull. The hotel is near to the city center and 15 mins to the beach with a bike (scooter 5). The owner recommended us a tailor, because it was "family Business", but we went to another tailor. When we arrived with the bags from that tailor, they were obviously unhappy, but still friendly and not rude like other hotels if you dont book a tour etc.. The breakfast is nothing special, bread and eggs and they didnt clean the room until we asked. All in all a very nice stay good value for money and nice budget hotel! Would and did recommend it! Across the streer there is a cafe "cafe 43" very nice, too!

Booked for a stay in Viet House Homestay for 3 nights and another hotel for 2 nights. The room is big, clean and nicely decorated. The wifi works very well, seems like they have a router at each floor. It is located at a nice location away from the main road, 10 min walk to old town and there are many eateries, spas and a few convenience shops along the same street. I must commend Van, she is very helpful. She arranged for my day trip to My Son and even helped to check with other guests for their interests in visiting Hue as I wanted to share the private car with a few others. After I checked out, she was still in touch to make sure i have arrived safely at the other hotel and even provided the phone no for the shuttle bus for my return journey. A very good stay at Viet House and I would not hesitate to recommend a stay there.

If you are a light sleeper or like to sleep in, this may not be the place for you. There is a rooster nearby that starts making noise at 4:45am, and keeps at it for hours. Aside from that, it's pretty nice. Firm beds, but good shower, and the hotel has a washer AND dryer, so can wash your clothes for you quickly and affordably. There is rarely anyone at the front desk, though, so you're pretty much on your your own for most things. The A/C worked well, and the location is great - Hoi An is quite touristy, but although this place is close enough to easily walk to the old city and plenty of tourist-friendly restaurants, it's also in a more "normal" neighborhood which I liked. Also, being up a bit higher and away from the river, they told me it stayed dry during Typhoon Damrey.
