"Pros: A basic & clean room comes complete with a small kitchen area for simple cooking such as boiling eggs, cooking noodle etc & dining table too. And a nice small family size fridge. Plus unlimited mineral water (tank). The facilitator is extremely friendly and accommodating. Cons: The neighborhood has not much choice of restaurant but a short 10 minute jeepney ride (8 peso), you will be in downtown with everything..."

OYO 199 Solange Apartelle
Ma-a,Ma-a - View on map
"Hands down one of the best places I've stayed at in Davao. Their room is a studio type complete with living room and kitchen appliances. They have a mini living room area, kitchen, and dining table. The best part of my stay was the twin bed; I slept like a baby through the night because of the clean, fresh, and soft bed linens. The staff was accommodating and courteous. The facility is more or less 5 minutes away from the highway where you can catch a ride to roam the city. I'll be back for sure! Kudos to OYO! "

Villa Viva Belgica
Ma-a,Ma-a - View on map
"I stayed there 2 nights and it was a good stay. The owner is super friendly and helpful as is the whole staff. Belgica is like a cross between a hotel and apartelle. It is in a great location (Ma'a) as it is not so busy as downtown Davao. It's in a neighborhood that has security access and it is very clean, nice to walk around. Ma'a is good access to the airport as well since you pretty much just stay on the main road to and from Ma'a. The room was clean and nice, they even had slippers for guests. The owner is a Belgium expat - so foreigners get good advice from him. There is a group of expats that live in that neighborhood and meet there on Saturdays, unfortunately I wasn't there for it but am sure it is great and welcoming since there were some expats there I spoke with, all very nice and helpful. The wifi is great there (some hotels in the Philippines this is not so, but here it is). A refrigerator to keep your drinks cold and complimentary instant coffee. Only down sides, not windows in the room I stayed in (no big deal really - who comes to stay in the room all day?). Breakfasts are not complimentary, but I think the prices were reasonable. I didn't eat there only because we got our start so fast each day we ate on the road. Overall a nice place to stay for the money and would recommend it to travelers."
