It was really hard to check in and the room was bit old and smelly but still great value for money. I stayed in a dormitory and was the only person on the day of my stay. It was warm enough to sleep and the kitchen was big and clean

Not the biggest fan”
We stayed here for the tongariro crossing hike in mid April... The location was good. It was just very cold and our heater didn't work well despite being on high all night and we were only provided with a small blanket... Not a sheet or duvet or anything of warmth, so we had to sleep in our fleece jacket to stay warm. We ask for another blanket for the second night and got a bigger duvet which was nice, but not sure why we didn't have or in the first place. There was a wood stove in the common area but no wood so that space was also very cold the whole time. The woman working was nice enough, nothing over the top.

Cute little place. Lots of parking and comfy room. Kitchen was a great addition to our room. Shared facilities were clean and well looked after. Would stay here again.
