A typical Shangri La Quality Hotel”
When you book into a Shangri la property you expect quality and this one in Surabaya lives up to the brand. I stayed for one night only and did not have enough time to experience all the hotel has to offer. It is truly a 5 star hotel with several restaurants, huge pool and large spa with sauna steam and jacuzzi. The Gym was impressive as well. The room is well appointed and comfortable. Staff was friendly and well trained. What impressed me most is the free wireless which is available all around the whole hotel and best of all not need to log on again in different places. It has a free shuttle to the mall nearby but the frequency seems a bit limited given the short distance. All in all a very good option when in Surabaya especially if you need to be west side of the city.

Probably the most value for money Shangri-La”
Good price for a Shangri-la hotel. Newly renovated room, clean, modern and comfortable. The swimming pool, lobby, lift, is a bit outdated but still on a good maintenance. Strategic location, in the center of west Surabaya. Just opposite the new Ciputra World Mall. Tons of good food, you can ask gojek to deliver it all for you. During my stint, they have problem with water heater, left us with no hot water for a couple hours.

It was very enjoyable and excellent stay at the Shangri-La Hotel. The location is perfect; It's on one of the business districts in Surabaya, precisely in West Surabaya. The hotel staff were friendly and polite. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. Overall, would not hesitate to stay at the Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya again.

As expected from the Shangri-La group of hotels, this hotel is grand and luxurious, with a price to match. I feel generally that the room rate is worth it only if you really spend time at the hotel and enjoy the facilities such as the gym and pool. The restaurants offer many dining option including Chinese, Italian, Japanese and Mexican. The pool is great for families with children. The grand main lobby is perfect for private casual meetings, while the formal conference rooms/dining halls are world class and popular for international conferences and weddings. Nearby is the world class Ciputra World mall and many more dining options along one of the busiest business districts in Surabaya.

15 years ago and still going on”
The last time i went there was ages ago. yet the quality, the service and all were the same. As i booked with agoda, i neglected the breakfast issue, yet as i tried to amend it, the hotel and of course Agoda had helped a lot, i got everything i needed for my stay in a split second. Well i might encourage the management to pay close attention to the food quality, i found rotten salted eggs on my porridge. I would definitely recommend Shangri-la to anybody asking me the best place to stay in Surabaya for leisure purpose.

Lovely Hotel, Nice location”
The Shangri La Surabaya does justice to the Shangri La brand in terms of it's high level of service and excellent selection of restaurants in the hotel its signature Chinese restaurant the Shang palace and also it has a great Italian restaurant ie the Portico However the hotel is run down and is badly in need a renovation in my opinion. The state of the hotel is not what you would expect when you stay at a Shangri la property

Even though the stay was only for 1 night, but the service was great and we had lovely time in this hotel. The reception staff was always pleasant and polite, willing to assist in any query that you may have. The room was big and comfy. Hotel overall does not look very new to us but the newly renovated amazed us! Great and comfortable stay in Shangri-La! Room were nice and cozy. Best Wifi ever! Check in process was smooth and nice. Tight security at hotel entrance which we can understand and makes us safe staying there. Just a slight comment on the checking out. No one was there to assist us on our luggage while we are waiting for our Friend to pick us up even though we saw them talking and there were no other hotel guests. We had to do it ourselves and this should not be the case for a 5 star hotel. Overall was great and will stay again!

5 Star Experience at Good Value”
It was a very pleasant stay. We actually arrivd early in the morning (10:30am), but the friendly front staff checked us in with no issue. The lobby is grand and was aptly decorated with tasteful Christmas decor at the time, including a life size ginger bread house. The room was slightly smaller than the other five star hotel we stayed at, but it was more than sufficient for a single night stay. The bed and the sheets were comfortable, and the curtains blocked the sunlight really well, making for a sleep any time of the day. A solid hotel for our first experience at a Shangri-la property.

i expected no less from a shangrila hotel, and was not disappointed. front desk service was prompt, attentive and courteous without losing efficiency. the room is clean and well appointed. cleaning staff was meticulous and pleasant. wonderful restaurants to choose from: italian, japanese, chinese, international buffet, they are some of the best restaurants in surabaya. definitely well worth the stay.

Excellent service”
this was my first stay at a shangri-la. the first room i checked in to was a deluxe but i was later upgraded to an executive room because of reformation work in progress close to my initial room. if i were to return there i would definitely book the executive room as the extra space and extra window area is well worth the extra. the hotel staff are absolutley amazing and the buffet breakfast was excellent value.

from the minute we arrived at the airport and were met by shangri la staff to the time they drove us back to the airport, checked us in and waved us on our way we were treated like royalty - the staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. the hotel has everything you need for a wonderful relaxing holiday. top marks for a wonderful experience
