A relaxing experience”

If you are looking for a spot for staycation that's easy on the budget yet luxurious on experience - I'd really recommend Savoy Hotel in Mactan Newtown. The room was great and the food was awesome. Although during our stay I got a little disappointed as there seemed to be no coordination between the frontdesk and the pool staff. The frontdesk said that the pool opens at 6am and closes at 10pm, however, when we went for a night swim, we were drove away as the pool closes at 8pm and reopens at 8am. Frontdesk and Room Service also takes several rings before someone picks up the call. But overall, I'd give this hotel a pass and would certainly love to come back because of the overall great experience I had with them.

I always prefer the Mactan Newtown as it is near to almost everything. You may opt to use the restaurant or the nearby restaurant. You can run, jog outside or at the gym! It's good for a short get away or short holiday!

Very nice Rooms and Decor.”

My wife and I enjoyed the stay. Restaurants around Mactan Newtown are accessible and walking distance. Enjoyed the atmosphere and experience. Friendly staff.

Family-friendly and historic building”

Our New Year’s Eve stay was extremely enjoyable! Exceeds my expectations: superb staffs, cozy rooms, great foods, glowing pool, and elegant mini bars. Though at first we worried a bit of the hotel’s health and safety protocols, it wasn’t that unbending. The place is not crowded during the peak date. They know how to control the crowd. In fact, I appreciate once more the staffs being so friendly and attentive to their guests - they will greet you like “Good morning!” or “Good evening!” This simple salutation made us feel valuable. Overall, the lovely hotel is indeed tidy and friendly, perfectly located in the Newtown. 😍

Exceptional”

I like my stay in Savoy Hotel because of the peaceful ambiance. You can really relax and be refreshed. In addition, the staffs are so accommodating and the hotel is so clean. I just wanna suggest about the food, it would be great to have variety of choices.

New hotel services wanting”

Located inside Mactan newtown. Slow service at front desk and housekeeping. Room is faily basic. Comfy bed. Nice small pool and poolside bar. Band played nightly in improvised tent outside patio. Gym and equiptment is good. Chiller inside the room barely cool your beverage. No themostat to make it colder. TV is small 32” only. Room with small electric kettle. Shower with good water pressure and enough heat and fairly good toilet and bath amenities. What is so disappointing is their very slow internet wifi where mostly less than 1mbps on speedtest.net considering that this may be classified as a business hotel. Better to fix this concern asap. Hesitant to recommend to my friends and colleagues.

I think hotel is UNDERSTAFFED - It took too long to checked in and checked out”

We have booked rooms for Dec. 25 however it took them so long to have all of us checked in. Savoy Hotel Mactan was also a hotel that accomodates returing Pinoys from abroad however i find their checkin procedure especially during this covid pandemic not right. They are using the same checkin counter for local tourist and those returing OFW or Pinoys travelling from abroad. They should have properly separated the checkin counter for these. Note that those returing Pinoys are too tired to from their travel as well, they should have been placed and seated in a room or let say in one of their fuction rooms while waiting to be checked in and not stand there in the lobby together with their usual guest. I appreciate their bellboy though since he was so quick to assist on the arriving guest luggage/bags and provide assistance to their guest.

Nice new hotel with friendly staff”

The Facility is excellent and very clean. We stayed in a Junior Suite and enjoyed it very much. Staff were courteous and friendly. Room service was served cold and one of the dishes was overcooked; we requested new service and were happy with the replacement dishes. We again had food served cold in the restaurant the next day which was disappointing, but the staff did their best to address our concerns. Overall, we were happy with our stay and hope the Hotel works on the concerns we shared with them so that the guest experience can be improved.

Perfect choice. ”

The Hotel itself was spectacular. Very courteous staff. We had minor problem with our room where the AC was broken and they were quick to give us another room. We will definitely be back here soon!

Not our cup of tea”

DETAILED REVIEW. No cooking or fridge. Strictly maximum of 2 adults ONLY per room. 3rd adult will be charged 800php w/o breakfast. All children are welcome. Not our cup of tea with 8 adults and 4 children. Local guests. LOCATION - Quite far from the main road. CHECKIN - Too slow due to multiple papers to sign. Health dec and room sign-in. With 3 rooms & 8 adults thats like 11 papers. 2pm checkin time but only 1 room was available at 3pm. Which means 12 people were in 1 room for 2hrs. The other 2 were available at 5pm & 6pm. This is when we didn't like the hotel stay anymore. Delayed checkin Probably due to Christmas time. Still, they should have prepared for that. Checkout was still 12nn for the 2 rooms while 1 room was 1pm as compromise for the late checkins. Rooms - Spacious for Queen deluxe, however standard twin is quite cramped which was where we first stayed with 12 people. FREE BREAKFAST FOR 2 - Food was okay. Something I can't recommend though. Beach - 10-15 min walk to the beach? They have a shuttle service. Beach is not for free. We got a 50php discount for a 200 rate on weekends. Corkage for food and drinks. However beach has really good clean and clear waters and white sand so my baby liked it. Pool - 2 pools. 1ft small pool for the kids. One medium sized pool for the adults. Forgot the ft. Crowded probably again due to it was Christmas. Bar - Beside the pool so kinda has a wet floor. Corkage for outside food and drinks. OVERALL - 3 stars?

its a nice place i love the pool and the bar ...but staff werent quick enough when i requested something from the room service..food needs to be more competitive with other hotels today

Staycation at Savoy Hotel”

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location is quiet and clean. You can do some jogging outside or you can use their in door gym for health enthusiasts. There is also a pool that we enjoyed. There are restos and coffee shops around the place too if you don’t like hotel food. My only complaint was that my bfast meal. It was served cold. It was plated because no buffet is served during this pandemic but I was expecting it to at least be served hot. The room also smells “old” for a new hotel. Other than that it is a hotel that I will still recommend. Hoping some points pointed out here will be improved.

Value for money!”

Fast Wifi connection. Staff attentive to guests' needs, and always with a welcoming smile. Bellman gave us a quick room tour & informed us of its amenities (with hair dryer- yey!). He even showed us the pool area, and gym.

Better planning is in order ”

Room service food generally cold. Daily housekeeping was nonexistent. Even after requesting items to do our own housekeeping, things that obviously needed to be replenished were not provided ( clean towels, toilet paper, water etc. ) While being in this pandemic requires changes from the normal routine, better planning is needed. Either provide all the necessities needed for the duration of the stay in the room at the beginning or provide them daily by leaving them outside the room door. Guests should not have to call for or do without necessities even while on quarantine.

Clean Place”

Staff are superb. The room was small but very clean. Pool was crowded since it was a peak season but definitely will be coming back soon.

Service”

We were so disappointed with the front desk/receptionist because it took her 25mins to finish the booking of the person infront of us when we were about to check out.
