Sanouva Hotel Saigon Vietnam”
Sanouva is one of a string of (I would guess) similar mid-range hotels on Ly Tu Do street in Saigon's District 1, located just behind the bustling Ben Thanh market. My companion and I paid $45 for our room on Agoda, in high season (mid-December). It's a short walk away from tons of streetside food around the market and on Ly Tu Do street itself. It's also just a short walk from the bustling boulevard Le Loi, where you can walk "downtown" where all the fancy hotels, bars restaurants and shops are, or a little further to the Saigon River (where you can take a ferry to the beach at Vung Tau--highly recommended for a day trip or even overnight!). Sanouva Hotel is also a reasonably short distance (1-2 kilometers) from many of the major attractions in District 1 such as the Reunification Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral. On Le Loi, you can also indulge in the very Vietnamese pastime of sitting at a cafe or ice cream shop (with all seats facing the street) and leisurely watch the rushing world of motorcycles, bikes and cars go by. By the way, the coffee in Vietnam, everywhere you go (including places like hotels and the airports, where you expect coffee to be weak and bad), is excellent, and that includes the coffee they serve with the complimentary buffet-style breakfast at Sanouva Hotel. The rooms at Sanouva are sparkling clean and impeccably made up each day. All the conveniences you expect from a mid-range hotel are there: hair-dryer, cable TV (typical channel selection for SEAsia: AXN, BBC, CNN, Cartoon Network, Star Movies, HBO Asia...nothing to write home about, but adequate). The clientele was heavily Asian, I detected lots of Singaporean accents. Lots of families stay there as well. I would definitely recommend Sanouva and stay there again next time I visit Saigon. I haven't stayed anywhere else in the city for years so really can't compare, but to me it was a fine value for the money, and you certainly cannot beat the location for a few days in Saigon.

Comfortable and Homey Hotel”
Me and my best friend stayed in Sanouva Hotel for 3 nights end of May 2010. I love the smell of incense at the lobby hotel. The staff was also very friendly even though they can't speak English pretty well. They can accommodate our need pretty well, from changing our double room to twin, give us direction (including free copy of street map) and give us late check out. Our room was in 4th floor and it was very comfortable, homey and clean although not spacious enough. The location of this hotel is marvelous, you can easily find good food near the hotel (including pork Vietnamese banh mi in front of the hotel, which is very delicious and cheap). Sanouva hotel also very close to Ben Tanh market (where you can find everything in good price especially in the morning and afternoon). So, overall our last trip to Ho Chi Minh was very enjoyable. Thanks to Sanouva Hotel and their great staff. Definitely going back to that hotel when we visit Ho Chi Minh in the future.

Everything you want, and nothing you don't.”
About my stay: ========== I stayed at Sanouva for 8 nights, 1 night in room 904 and 7 nights in room 501 (they didn't have room for a 8 night booking). About the hotel: ========== There are 9 floors of rooms, and there are 6 rooms to a floor, rooms: *01 and *02 are facing the street (most expensive rooms) *03 and *04 are on the sides of the building (least expensive) *05 and *06 are facing the back In comparison to HoChiMinh prices this hotel is on the expensive side, but it's still very reasonable. From the airport it's 80-100 Dongs by metered taxi. About the rooms: =========== The rooms, I must admit, are the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever seen... really. Everything looks brand new, there is no "eeewwww" feeling to the furniture, like you get in cheaper hotels. The layout of the room is well thought of, and everything is where it should be. The only issues i had with the room are: * The mirrors are too low, so you can only see your crotch when you look into them, * They place the opening of the quilt cover at the top of the bed (near the pillows), so your arms touch the real quilt when you move at night (this is the "eeeewwww" feeling i'm talking about). I tried putting it at the bottom, but the cleaning staff replaced it at the top each day. * 501 is a smoking room, although it didn't smell like smoke, when you took a deep breath on the pillow you could smell cigaret smoke from the pillow. But it's really nothing compared to HK hotel rooms. About the noise: ========== Ho Chi Minh is a very very noisy city, so don't expect a quiet and serene stay. But: * The rooms facing the street will be noisy due to the cars and motorcycles, you can get used to that; * The rooms on the sides are noisiest, because there are next to the elevator and the door faces all human traffic on the floor, and * The rooms on the back are quiet as can be (I had a chance to visit one). About the food: ========== The free breakfast is fine, and there is ample food for every one

Sanouva Hotel - a little haven in the heart of the”
Sanouva Hotel is a new hotel located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Travel time from the airport is around 20 to 30 mins including traffic. Most of the taxi drivers at the airport do not want to take us to the hotel using the meter. They charge $10 when it should have cost 90,000VND (around $4). The driver of the taxi that we took was young and was laughing and talking a lot even if we don't understand his language and he doesn't speak English. That made our trip to the hotel fun even if we were overcharged. The hotel staff were all nice. They speak English and are very helpful when we asked for tips on places to visit. We arranged the tour to Cu Chi tunnel with them ($10 per pax). Suggest that you book with them since their contact tour guide is Mr. Bien who is very knowledgeable in the history and was fun to be with. If we go back to HCM City we will definitely stay at the Sanouva Hotel.

Great location and value”
Sanouva Hotel has an excellent location in District 1 - located along the street just behind Ben Thanh Market. The buffet breakfast in Sanouva Hotel is good but I recommend that you do not stuff yourself with it and try the wide variety of good local food available outside the hotel. The hotel is clean and looks new and the service is friendly and helpful. I would certainly consider returning here for my next stay in Ho Chi Minh City.

Sanouva Hotel”
I have nothing but great thing to say about Sanouva Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. Location The Hotel is conveniently located near the market/night market with only a short two-minute walk. There are plenty of of gold/jewellery shop where you can change money at a better rate than the banks. Staff The staff are fantastic and were the most helpful. From changing the date of a tour that we booked elsewhere, to recommending restaurants nearby. They hailed taxis the moment we stepped out of the hotel and were happy to change our notes into smaller notes. The staff did over and above and all without the expectation of tips. Room The room itself was great. Nice and clean and good aircon with lots of TV channels. Breakfast Breakfast was included and it was pretty decent. The menu changes ever so slightly everyday but it was tasty and convenient. Overall It's a great little hotel with a convenient location. With friendly and helpful staff, it really is value for money! Highly recommended!

Good Central Location”
The Sanouva hotel was very well located. We could walk to the river, the central area, Ben Thanh market . the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum. The room was bright and very quiet with no traffic noise whatsoever despite being situated on a very busy street. While we were unable to have a late checkout due to the hotel being fully booked the staff were happy for us to spend a couple of hours in the lobby while waiting to catch our flight even getting us a drink of water and organising a taxi. I would recommend the Sanouva as a good place to stay in Ho Chi Minh City. Free internet in the lobby is very useful.

Pleasant stay”
The Sanouva Hotel is quite well located in District One of Ho Chi Minh City. This is the main tourist area with all the shopping and entertainment. Most points of interest are within walking distance. The hotel was certainly a pleasant surprise after what we stayed in elsewhere in vietnam. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. I will be staying here on our next trip to HCMC as this little hotel is trully value for money. The only disappointment was the breakfast, it is a bit shy on variety. All said and done, great place to stay.

Superb service”
Thank you very much for making our stay in Ho Chi Minh worth remembering. We enjoyed our stay in Sanouva Hotel because the room was clean and well maintained. The staff answered our questions intelligently. The desk officer gave suggestions which we found appropriate and good. Food was served on time and the quality of food was very good. The hotel is strategically located. It is near the market. It is walking distance to interesting and historic places. Next time we visit Ho Chi Minh, we will stay in Sanouva Hotel.

Accesible location and value for money”
We stayed at Sanouva last Aug. 5 to 7 and we had an awesome experience. The staff from the front desk officer to the door man were very welcoming and accommodating. I felt that they're genuinely happy to have us as their guests. Also, it's location is walking distance to main city attractions such as Notre Dame Cathedral, War Remnants Museum, and Ben Thanh market. The hotel offers value for money as it is in an accessible, safe, and quiet location and it has a well-maintained facility. The breakfast with a range of choices was also good. I will be glad to recommend Sanouva hotel to my relatives/friends who will visit Ho Chi Minh.

Excellent Hotel: Brand new and great service!”
There are so many good things aboout this hotel. It is the newest hotel on the street, I didnt see any hotel as new as this. All the furniture and fittings are modern and completely brand new. There's even a flat screen tv in the room. It is located less than 5 mins walk from Ben Tanh Market. I've been to Ho Chi Minh many times and stayed in many different hotels in this price range but nothing comes close. One of the best things is that I could hardly hear any noise of the motorbikes from my room. There is also free internet and free wifi within the hotel. The service staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning and our rooms were not ready. A nice lady at the counter recommended us some good local places to eat (the food was really good)and chill to pass our time before checking in later. The room package comes with free western breakfast but I didnt try it. I was more keen on trying the local food for breakfast. Overall it was an excellent experience and I'll definitely return to stay there when I visit Ho Chi Minh again.

Convenient, just right to my needs”
Sanouva Hotel is a convenient place to stay at Ho Chi Minh City. It is near the airport, about 15 minutes away, and best of all, a few steps away, the shopping areas - where I easily found the famous Ben Thanh market and the evening flea market. From Sanouva Hotel, everything you need is within your reach - coffee shops, convenient store, and the yummy food along the pedestrian lanes or at the market place. The arrival check in works with the staff are not fussy. Just a few details and you get your room key. The Hotel attendant brings your luggage to your room right away. As I entered the room, its interior design, structure, and lighting gave me a sense of comfort, a cozy and relaxing atmosphere that is just what I needed after a long day from airport to airports. I liked the toilet/bathroom. It is clean, smelled good, and functional. Also, i liked the new pair of slippers ready for your use. A few things that I found a little irritating but bearable were the plumbing sounds (on/off water gushing, and other noises (moving chairs, people's voices) coming from the other rooms. Breakfast food was also a good starter for the day. The hotel staff is efficient and helpful.

Cozy accomodations”
We visited Ho Chi Minh City with our family and loved the Sanouva. Small cozy hotel, nice rooms with great air conditioning which is needed in the heat and humidity. Big breakfast buffet with the best croissants. Best of all was the staff. The receptionist greeted and welcomed us in such a friendly manner, the breakfast staff was excellent (Huy, Quyrh and Ngan were delightfull and did all possible to fulfill any requests we had). All in all, we felt very welcome, slept like babies and would come back any time.

Great hotel for the value and location”
Only had 1.5 days in Ho Chi Minh city and spent most of the time in District 1 so Sanouva was a great hotel for us. It's centrally located so we were able to walk to most of the places we had planned: war remnants museum, fine arts museum, parkson plaza. The room was very clean and spacious for the two of us. Loved the bathroom, much bigger than what I've seen in China and Japan. Good air conditioning. We had a room in the back, off the main street, so it was quiet during the night and had no trouble sleeping. Although breakfast is included, we preferred experiencing the amazing street food which is found everywhere and didn't actually eat any of the hotel food. Trung nguyen coffee is a block away from the hotel which was super convenient and perfect for ca phe sua da. Enjoyed staying at this hotel and would definitely come back.

Cofortable Sanouva”
I spent six days in the Sanouva HOtel Ho Chi Minh City and was very satisfied with the accomodation. The rooms are clean and kept in a good condition. The breakfast was on time and satisfactory. I am a vegetarian and use no dairy products so I wold have liked a greater choice for my breakfast. The staff are polite and very helpful. This is a hotel that I would recommend to anyone travelling with a budget of economy.

A great hotel in Ho Chi Minh”
We are very pleased with our stay at Sanouva Saigon Hotel. At first, I am a bit wary about this hotel because the room rate is so affordable (at least for me it is), and even included breakfast. So imagine how pleasantly surprised we are during our stay at the hotel for the following reasons: 1) the buffet breakfast is delicious, with enough spread to fill up anyone's tummy. 2) the location is excellent, just a stone's throw away from Ben Than Market and the different restaurants in District 1. 3) The room size is satisfactory. it may be small but at least it's not too crampy for 2 people. We get what we pay for 4) The room is clean and the staff are all very friendly and accomodating. 5) I can't find anything to complain about!

Sanouva Hotel Review”
Sanouva hotel is a real gem in the heart of the back packer's area of District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon as the locals still call it) Affordable, clean and comfortable with good free wifi in all the rooms make it a compelling reason to come back again.

Central location & helpful reception ”
I extended my trip after company meeting & flew to Ho Chi Minh City. Although not much time left to go too far, based on my prepared must-go places of interest (War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace, Central Post Office, Natre Dame Cathedral, Ben Thanh Market) & must-try coffees, local food restaurants & peddlers, around HCM, I found it's very convenient to walk from hotel or take GRAB. The reception staff are helpful to provide tips where to exchange VDN, where to buy cashew nuts better than supermarkets. My room was located on 1/F, but because I stayed 3 more nights, they offered I might change the next day. When I noted there wouldn't any city view, I was happy to remain in the same room which was clean & quiet (away from street). When I reported to them the shower head defect causing very wet floor, it was fixed. The breakfast was very good, not many choices but enough to enjoy what I can eat to start a day, particularly impressed food not repeated for my 4 nights staying there.

Sanouva Hotel”
This is a well presented hotel in an ideal location for those looking for a place close to the action. The rooms are on the smaller side, as most of this rating are in Ho Chi Minh. However, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. We were very impressed by the reception staff you were more than pleased to help us, with anything we needed. I would definitely return to Sanouva next time we're in Ho Chi Minh.
