WE STAYED 6 NIGHTS AT SAIGON HALONG HOTEL”

WE HAD A COMFORDABLE STAY AT THE SAIGON HALONG HOTEL, THE ROOM WAS EXCELLENT, WITH DAILY CLEANING,THE WI FI DID DROP OUT A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT OTHER THAN THAT WAS OK,THE BREAKFAST WAS ADAQUATE BUT COULD HAVE MORE WESTERN DISHES TO CHOOSE FROM, THE POOL WAS GREAT TO COOL OFF IN AFTER A DAY OUT, THE POOL DRAIN PIPES TO THE FILTER, ONE HAD NO SAFETY GRILL, AND THE OTHER DRAIN HAD THE GRILL COMPLETLY BROKEN, DANGEROUS AS A CHILD COLD HAVE A LEG OR ARM SUCKED INTO THE DRAIN PIPE AND DROWN, AS THE SUCTION IS VERY STRONG,REPORTED THIS TO THE FRONT DESK, STILL THE SAME WHEN WE LEFT 3 DAYS LATER.FRONT DESK RECEPTION NEED MORE ENGLISH SKILLS. HA AT TOUR DESK WAS VERY HELPFUL,WITH GOOD ENGLISH.WE WOULD BOOK HERE AGAIN.

Fantastic hotel and Good service.”

Impress by the hotel location althought is quite a steep driveway to the lobby. The service staff is well train but english is still not well verse and sometime some questions that we ask didn't come with a answer. The room is big and clean, bathroom up to standard. You can even see the sea view in the room although it come with a balcony, should be the best seaview in Ha Long Bay. The only weak point is the swimming Pool, too far away for the hotel, you need to walk pass the hotel lobby and down the slope stairs. It could be ideal if is within the hotel itself. Anyway no complain, will come back again with family.

We stayed here on the basis of a stop gap to go to on a junk through Halong Bay. I would recommend staying on the boat, but that has nothing to do with the hotel. it was brilliant and huge. with a reasonable priced restuarant on the top floor over looking the bay. Try and get a room over looking the bay, as we were at the rear backing onto the mountains. 5mins walk to the beach and to Bai Chay, which had a few little decent resturants. i wouldnt recommend staying here more than 1 day as very little to do, unless staying on a Junk.

Inexpensive but wonderful”

Saigon Halong Hotel is one of the many hotels in scenic Halong Bay. We were billeted there for a conference but we chose to book via Agoda because it was cheaper by a few dollars. We got a Villa room, and it is one of three rooms in a wonderful villa that had a spacious dining room and living room area. It is separate from the main hotel building and it can be quite a trek getting there but it's a good way to burn off Breakfast calories.

Enjoyable stay!”

For 5 days we didn't see the sun, heavy fog most mornings, showers and poor visibility meant we had a disappointing stay in Halong... at least we had a great room. This was one of the best all round hotels we stayed at during our 6 weeks in Thailand/Vietnam. Great breakfast, well appointed room with very reasonably priced mini bar, kettle and good fridge... Excellent WiFi, 5 star bathroom... really nothing to complain about but... The huge development directly in front of the Hotel, which was a 24hr/ day construction site, I fear for the hotels great views. The restaurant on the road in front of the hotel caters for tourist buses, it was old and filthy I wouldn't let my dog eat there. There are good eats within walking distance.

Big room good view”

It is a nice hotel with big room and good view. You can 100% relax here. Only we face the problem of air conditioner, and the employee react slowly. Anyway the price with the condition is nice, if you want to take a rest and enjoy in Ha Long Bay.

8 of us, my 4 children, my wife and my parents. The hotel put us in 3 rooms in a villa. It was nice but the only problem is there is no facilities in the villa and the door cannot be locked. The rooms are big and wifi is better than I expected. The hotel is close to the beach but there is not much activities there at this time of the year. The Halong overall is very quite. I book a boat in the hotel for 8 of us to see the Halong Bay, it cost me 7 million VND for 6 hours with a lunch and a tour guide. Although I got much much lower price from the street, but I guess it is safer to book in the hotel. We were quite enjoy to have the whole boat ourselves and the lunch was reasonable good with seafood. Although the tour guide did not do much, but we got someone to speak to and feel more comfortable with someone who knows and speak the local language. The hotel breakfast is on the 14th floor restaurant with good view and free flow of famous Vietnamese beef noodle.

Nice place to stay”

Saigon Halong Hotel is situated along Halong bay. It is near night market in a walking distance or you can take taxi since It is very cheap. The room is quite big and very comfortable. The breakfast is Ok in terms of variety but it is less than my expectation. However, I still consider this hotel is a good place to stay for the value.

Overall, I liked the stay at Saigon Halong. Before I stayed at Saigon Halong, I wat at the Tuan Chau Villa and it was very far away from where the action was. So we decided to change out hotel and we were all glad that we did. It is walking distance to the port, and the night market. We even walked to the 1 of the big markets sight seeing. Also the view was nice and it was clean.

Good Value ”

Great value for money although we were in villa 5 quite steep to get up to, I was a little disappointed, I thought we were in the hotel, rooms are good but not luxurious,pool was an added bonus, not a lot of hotels seem to have them in Hanoi areas. The breakfast was great a wide variety of all nationalities on offer to eat. Rooms were clean and very comfortable but I think if I hadn't been in a group of 6 I would have paid to have a view as it is incredible especially from the Panoramic restaurant & roof top, quite a distance from centre of Halong Bay which hasn't a lot to offer although it has a nice new shopping mall with ice skating on top floor. Massages start at 5 pm along with other facilities ie sauna jacuzzi etc, my husband & son were offered other services here & tips were very much expected. All in all the hotel & staff were great & the price we paid from Agoda was an added bonus.

Mountain view”

Its a popular hotel in halong bay area. Room are clean , big and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here and the feel of the hotel . Breakfast buffet is very good. Breakfast is in the restaurant on the ground floor , but on the last day of our stay breakfast was on the 14th floor panorama restaurant . Swimming pool is outside the hotel and didn't see a soul near it . Staff are good , but apart from the reception staff , English is not popular with the others. we decided to opt for the mountain view room and it had beautiful views with a peaceful serene feeling. The hotel is popular with large tours and conference meetings too . Meals in the restaurant are good. However don't expect halong to be like HCM or Hanoi . Its a quiet town with the boat trips being the main attraction , so there is very little else to offer in halong , or near the hotel . Stay for 2 nights in halong , and move ahead !

Nice Hotel - Comparable to Novotel Halong”

big rooms, the highest and best views of halong with 2 balconys in the room that make you feel like your going to fall off the building. its just sooooo high! overall the experience was good here. internet was not that good, and the door card system failed in our room twice that they had two guys for a decent amount of time taking the whole thing apart for a while. reccomended if seeking an alternative to novotel halong and halong plaza hotels

Great view of Halong Bay”

The staff were marvelous. We booked a car to Hanoi airport from here before we went on a 2 night cruise on Halong Bay on the Jasmine (definitely recommended). We left laundry and one suitecase at the hotel and they sent the laundry, suitcase and driver to pick us up and go on to the airport without going back to the hotel. The hotel was quiet so they upgraded us so we could have a room with a view over the water.

Saigon Halong - Big deluxe room”

I was on a business trip to Halong Bay, giving a presentation to my group of customers. So I booked this hotel because the meeting is in this hotel. I booked a deluxe room but I think I was upgraded to a Suite which is really specious. It comes with a 30m2 living room plus a 35m2 of bedroom + bathroom. Internet is complimentary. The only issue is the breakfast, it serves only until 9:30am which is too short.

We asked for a room with a view, and it was to die for. The rooms were fabulous, with a panoramic view of the fantastic Halong Bay. THe staff were tremendous and organised very personalised tours of the Bay etc. THe restaurant was fantastic and the food fabulous. Definately the place to stay.

excellent bay view ”

This hotel has a lot of potential the ocean and mountain view are breathtaking . Unfortunately the management focus a little too much on the bottom line instead of customer service I guess is because the don't understand that good customer service equal's good bottom line. I walked in to the lobby this evening and notice that it was extremely hot when I say hot I mean hot may be 100 degrees plus's I asked the young men at the counter why the lobby was so hot expecting him to say the air conditioning unit is broken to my. So price he told me to go to my room that the air conditioning in my room was working it was really to hot to ask more questions so I when to my room

Ha Long Bay On Shore”

I had done the three day Ha Long Bay Cruise and needed a stop over before continuing my tour of Vietnam. Ha Long on shore is more restful than Hanoi, but there really is not any reason to stay there other than as a cheap comfortable stop over.

Good location, superb view from top!”

Staff were nice, view from top restaurant was amazing. Villa wasn't that great, but for the money was fine. Asked to move into main hotel but it would cost more. Tour organiser called ha was so nice and very helpful! Organised our boat trip and arranged for taxi to airports I pick us up from the end of our boat trip with our flight tickets! Would we stay again probably not, but we only stayed one night and for the price was fine. Pool was ok! New man made beach was really nice and very close.
