Disclaimer : I give Staff 5 stars because actually I didn't meet any staffs there, but the check in and check out process was smooth (they have the machine outside for checking in and out), the room was clean, and my overall experience in Safari Motel was amazing! This motel is very complete, with spacious room & bathroom, a great hot water, internet connection and tv, and also they have the very complete kitchenette. It actually really helps when you are doing road trip (like we did), so we can buy food from supermarket and cook it there. The utensils and plates and bowls are also provided (and plenty of those)! And dont get me started with the location. AMAZING! It located in main street, very easy to find, and the surroundings was breathtaking.

Truck noise is a problem in Taihape. Although this motel was built long ago, it is very well maintained, well-equipped, very clean and good value.

New Zealand closes early. we left wellington harbour at 7pm, it was about three hours to get to here after we had eaten at wellington, we were en route to waitomo, another three hours next day. key check easy, room basic and clean , milk, tea facilities, water hot, sheets clean and bed comfy. value for money excellent but if you are a light sleeper you do hear traffic noise.

Better than some more expensive places I've stayed. 24 hour self check in. Easy to leave keys securely when checking out early. Car parking very tight when large/long vehicle parked at front unit. No complaints. Handy location. Have stayed once before & no doubt will stay again.

Terrible wall paper peeling off walls. Very musty, mouldy smell upon entry. Electric blanket didn't work. Heavy road traffic noise being on a main highway with trucks. Windows need double glazing.
