My husband and I were on Peony Cruises in January 2020 and had a fabulous time. Everything was clean and beautiful from the rooms, to the deck areas to the dining areas. I would cruise with Peony again.

Best Halong Bay cruise out there”

We did a lot of research prior to choosing Peony Cruise and this seemed to be the newest boat. We were a bit nervous leading up to the cruise because we had poor experiences with deceiving and false reviews at other Vietnam hotels and tours, but the Peony Cruise exceeded our expectations. The rooms were just as pictured, exceptionally clean, with gorgeous views. The staff was amazing and had great service. We’d like to give the cruise manager, David, a special shout out for making this a memorable experience for us. Don’t hesitate to book this tour!

We really enjoyed our 2 days and 1 night stay on-board the Peony 1 (one of their newest ship). Our cruise Manage Mr David went above and beyond to get to know everyone, their dietary requirements and customize the best experience for all the groups on the cruise. The whole experience on-board was fantastic and I don't want to give out too much spoilers on that but what we really appreciated was that the ground staff at Got Pier was very professional too and when we needed directions to take taxis (these are boats btw) and made sure we reached out destinations. one thing that really amazed me about Vietnam in general was the punctuality everyone had. very similar to Singapore so it was an unexpected surprise. Thank you for making this trip so memorable and enjoyable @ The Peony Cruise team.

Very pleasant cruise”

The sailing was smooth hence no chance to get seasick. The cabin was very comfortable and more spacious than I expected. The minor stuff to manage is having roll-up blinds for the bathroom door and only one bedside reading lamp. The schedule of activities was well managed. The cooking demonstrations were fun. It would be nice to provide books and board games to pass time. A safer ladder could be provided for the times when we got to go swimming from the boat. I wish that they would include a range of coffees, teas and soft drinks as part of the menu and not charge extra for Vietnamese drip coffee with condensed milk and coca-cola. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the passing scenery from many conducive spots on the boat.

Such an incredible experience, everything was fantastic! To improve: Food portions were too big, smaller portions would be maybe more appreciated? Also communication needs some improvement as we didn't knew that we were actually allocated to another ship until we got to the pier, as the booked one was only 1N2D rather than 2N3D that day. Staff was attentive and maybe a bit too much, as it seems that they were tying too much, maybe they need to be more relaxed in such environment and not watching you constantly while eating. There was a mixup with the bill at the end as we were sharing tables with people from other room but sorted out eventually, just mske sure you check your bill at the end as this seems to happen quite often (happend with other people on the boat too).

Overall the cruise ship is new. With the price paid I would have expected that there are more varieties of food served in more quantity especially for breakfast and lunch. The dinner is good with a fine dining. Cleanliness is more than average. Scenic view is awesome.

Very nice luxury cruise. Just the activities (cave, bicycle, kayak) are very uninterested. Better to stay on boat. The food is also excellent

For transportation they charged USD $36 for my 4 years old child which is so pathetic. It is not acceptable for me.

Great overall experience”

Some minor things that I think could be improved and would have made the experience perfect: 1. Correct contact number. We tried to arrange for a transfer last minute, but the number Agoda provided was to a private line and she was out of office so she couldn't help us and no one answered the hotline number (24/7 service) on the website. We googled and tried the numbers that came up and reached a travel agent who finally gave us the correct number over the phone. 2. Better ordering system for drinks not included in the package. For drinks we ordered separately, we had to give our room number verbally to the staff. Two drinks were on our bill that we're certain we didn't order, as we never drink Espresso/Honey Ginger tea, but the staff just showed us that those were under our room no. on a handwritten paper. Since it wasn't a lot of money, we just dropped it. But someone could simply say the wrong room no. or the staff could mishear and it would easily become a more complicated issue.

As a family of four, two adults & two teens we absolutely enjoyed every moment of our cruise on Peony 1. David, Epi and team did everything possible to make sure we were well looked after, well fed and well entertained. Never a dull moment and so much amazing food! The activities were excellent, the rooms were great.

My hubby and I stayed on the cruise ship for one night. The food was great, the staff is incredible and the rooms are just beautiful. Definitely one of the best ways to explore Halong Bay! I highly recommend it!

Sehr schönes Schiff. Wir hatten die absolute Luxuscabine und haben es sehr genossen. Essen top und sehr gute Organisation.

Organisation trop bien huilée ...bon pour du tourisme de masse ”

Le bateau répond à nos attentes, les chambres sont belles et spacieuses, la vue magnifique. On regrette cependant le côté trop formaté du produit et des activités. Tout doit rentrer dans un planning défini à la minute près : une heure de kayak, diner à 7H, déjeuner à 7H, check out à 9h45. Cela gâche vraiment le côté détente. Personnel disponible mais dont on sent la lassitude, habitude trop convenue, sourires forcés. Donc on repart avec une touche d'amertume de cette croisière qui manque véritablement de chaleur. Mais cela n'est pas propre au Poney Cruise mais l'est vraisemblablement pour les 400 bateaux qui ont le même trajet et les mêmes activités sur la baie. Enfin, beaucoup de pollution qui en dépit de l'image des falaises karstiques vraiment magnifiques, nous rappelle aux conséquences du tourisme dans la région de Cat Ba (odeur de pétrole omniprésente, bouteilles plastiques qui flottent et divers détritus....) Ce coin du Vietnam a vraiment perdu du charme qu'il a pu avoir naguère.

Une croisière de rêve”

Magnifique bateau, tout neuf et de grand standing. Nous avons été surclassés dans la suite qui est magnifique, avec une terrasse privative, et une baignoire avec vue sur la baie. Le personnel est aux petits soins et efficace, le pont croisière est magnifique les repas ne sont pas exceptionnels mais corrects (trop nombreux...). nous avons fait l'activité kayak qui était bien. Le seul bémol : même dans cette partie de la baie censée être moins touristique (d'où le prix), au moins une 20aine de bateaux se suivent et font le même programme et itinéraire. C'est un peu dommage. Peu de temps de croisière - 4/5 heures en tout. le reste du temps le bateau est amarré avec les autres. un peu trop d'activités (pas obligatoires ), programme millimétrée, ce n'est pas très relaxant. Mais je recommande ce bateau pour la qualité des installations, la sécurité et le professionnalisme du personnel. + personnel ADORABLE au lounge d’accueil dOrchid cruise où nous avons dû attendre 2h au retour
