Nice rooms, great restaurant, helpful staff”
I had a very pleasant stay at The Mercure. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff were more than friendly and always helpful. The restaurant served a great lunch (I never tried the breakfast). After several months in Vietnam, it was a refreshing change to find a western menu with well prepared dishes, and a pretty good wine list. I will have no problem staying here again on my next visit to Haiphong.

Could have been better. ”
Knowing this is one of the best hotel in Haiphong. Staffs were friendly, but the room I stayed had a slight smell(just like the it hadn’t been used for a long time) and all the furniture and facilities in the room seemed could have better maintained. Most important, the room costed me almost $100, compare other hotels I’ve stayed in Vietnam, I do not think it’s a reasonable price. In my opinion this hotel is overall fine, but needed some improvements for a 5-star one.

Actually the staffs were nice but I just don't feel comfortable when I made a call to reception to get my cup of cappuccino in advanced before I checked out. The way they responded my call was started with "hello" and made me feel impolite. They also didn't confirm that in the hotel no takeout aids when I requested for take away until I came down to FO and checked out. Just a small things but my expectation for a 5 stars hotel was not like that.

Terrible welcome and first room ”
Positive - when I asked to leave they offered me an upgrade room which was excellent. Welcome when I arrived there was no one to meet the car or show me in . I was not sure what to do or where to go- Reception was ok although didn’t write room number or show me to lift so I was not sure what to do - had to ride life back to reception to ask for number Bad smell In reception area. Tv wasn’t working in first room I was told that there are some issues with the settings - they did try to fix but could not Breakfast - jams and peanut butter were half empty - a horrid cheese selection - no salt or pepper on table , not shown to a place, waffles and pancakes cold and rubbery - I didn’t want to reheat as they were not fresh and they would not cook fresh for me Hotel cafe was shut 30 kids in the swimming pool so I could not swim If I had known all this I would never have paid the price or stayed here - I remained due to the upgrade

The best staff we've come across at any hotel, notably the room cleaning service and front desk personnel. Very clean room, water bottles always provided, and easy to get around the city due to its excellent location. Highly recommend, and thanks for making our stay during Tet Holiday special!

The staff at Mercure were incredible and made local touring easy with concierge assistance. Although this kind of help was not required, the desk clerks made obtaining vans for my team’s exploration of the coast and onward transit to Ha Noi quite easy. The hotel property is impeccable, and the breakfast option is quite good!
