Bang for the Buck since remodel”

I've been staying at Richmond Plaza since my arrival here in the Philippines in 2006. I travel from Negros Occidental to Cebu for shopping once a month. I'm a creature of habit. I realized the place was not being kept up very well. Old a/c's that didn't really cool. Old style TV's (13") not really great. Bath towels had seen much better days. I left there in 2016. I had had enough. I started staying in other hotels, for much more money. However I was running into the same problems. They seemed over priced for what I was actually getting. One night I could find a room anywhere. I went on Agoda to find a place. I was extremely tired. Richmond Plaza had one room left. I reserved it. Upon checking in, the room was freshly remodeled. All floors were retiled, fresh paint with nice color schemes. Flat screen TV's, new a/c units, plus brand new soft towels. Not bad for $20.00. I returned to Cebu this past week and thought I would give Richmond another try. I checked in late. Around 9:30PM. Different room, same results. Everything NEW. Slept very good. My only complaint would be the pillows! Too hard for me. Great value for your money now and a pleasing atmosphere.

Richmond Plaza Hotel, Cebu, Philippines”

This is my second time staying at Richmond Plaza. I stayed both times in a suite. Whilst there may be classier hotels in Cebu, for me Richmond Plaza is more than satisfactory. Cebu is so big now that there is really no center of town. Richmond Plaza is close to the main nightlife area and great shopping and restaurants at Ayala Shopping Center. Don't expect 5 star luxury. You can get a nice room for very reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

Excellent”

Richmond hotel is a relatively old medium-class hotel with traditional keys to access rooms, but relatively clean. The personnel are courteous and helpful. The hotel is near malls, schools, big hotels. around 30-40 minutes Grab ride away from Mactan Cebu International Airport.

I like the location of the hotel, it is priced reasonably considering that it is just a walking distance from Ayala Center. The place is quiet despite being located in a busy street of Gorordo. The staff are courteous and nice. The restaurant staff are accommodating. Over-all, whenever I visit Cebu I will stay in Richmond.

the hotel was good the food was good and low in price, room was good i sleep well and the price was also low, i enjoyed the massage room service at a low cost also and the hotel was very accesible to my seminar venue which is in waterfront hotel. The only problem i encountered is that the hotel don't want to issue an official receipt for my payment made thru internet, but it was already sent to me by agoda thru email also. And another problem is that the people in the front desk specially the man i talked do not speak enlish instead they using visayan language which i don't understand, hope richmond hire a more fluent in english employees specially those assigned in the front desk.

My Richmond Hotel review”

Richmond hotel is located in a good area of Cebu city, a short walk to Ayala mall, restaurants, coffee houses and clubs. Very good staff, well informed and cooperative to help in any manner possible. I had breakfast only once the inhouse restaurant and was quite impressed with the quality of food and waitstaff. Very professional and great food. Only problem is the rooms seemed a bit outdated, somewhat drab, and can use a makeover. Internet was not available in room but was in lobby. A winner for a lower price! If you need just a room to sleep in this is the place!

Great stay”

We booked in to stay here for a night whilst back in Cebu city before we got the ferry to siargao. Ended up staying 2 nights. Great value for money, within walking distance of the mall. We had the deluxe room which was so worth the money just for the bed! The only thing I would of liked would of been a kettle but it was easy enough to get a coffee from the cafe and take it back to the room.

Clean, spacious with very comfortable big bed”

I stayed in richmond for 3 comfortable nights. I was shocked of the room because its very spacious and its very clean. I was hesitant at first because of the reviews i read before my arrival. I was always asking if it was a renovated room and to my surprise it was really a very sosyal room. A big room, a big bed, a mini ref, tv and very clean bathroom. I would definitely go back to richmond!

nice hotel. this is a newer hotel. location walking distance from osmena circle and short taxi trip to all the places i love in cebu city. ayala mall, mango square, it park ..... etc. the hotel had a great little restaurant that served filipino food but it was good and relatively cheap [for hotels]. the small lobby was nice and staff friendly and helpful. the room was good, beds comfortable aircon cool, shower ok. seemed to be catering to filipino, rather than foreigners. taxi drivers don't seem to know it, so strongly advise knowing where it is and having clear directions. that might also be because it's so close to everything that fares are small, if taken directly to destinations.

Good value for money”

The superior room is nice and clean. Toilet and Bath is also clean. Location of the hotel is at the center of Cebu City proper. It is near almost everywhere and you can easily ride on public transport to anywhere. The desk staff is very helpful. Restaurant offers a lot of menu options but most of them are not available.

Ok Hotel”

The Richmond Plaza Hotel is good value for the money. A few complaints like no mirror in the bathroom to shave with - you have to keep running into the bedroom to look in the mirror, the taps sometimes turn off and sometimes don't but overall not too much to complain about. The staff were exceptional and made up for the any shortcomings of the building and room itself. I would certainly stay here for a short stay again.

Cebu Stay”

Overall the Richmond Plaza Hotel is a clean hotel with excellent staff who are more than willing to assist you in any way they can. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy with all you really need for a stay. The dining room was the only let down as the food was not very nice and the room itself was a little run down. The location is very close to the Ayala Centre, there is a jeepney stop just up the street and the Capitol building is a 20 min walk. All in all a nice hotel.

Richmond Plaza Hotel ”

We enjoyed our stay at the Richmond Plaza due to the polite and accommodating staff. We received all items we requested promptly, and with pleasant service. The restaurant served a good breakfast at a very reasonable price. The hotel is very reasonably priced but is in need of some renovation before we could recommend it to our friends. It would have been nice to have double beds in the rooms.

I was looking for a hotel within reasonable walking distance of Ayala and this hotel had one of the best prices in it's class. I know my way around Cebu fairly well and it was not a very long walk to get there. If you don't know your way around it might be a bit more difficult. I was quite satisfied in every regard except it was a bit annoying being asked my room number every time I left the hotel and again when I returned. I've never experienced this at any other hotel here so I'm not sure what their purpose was.

we like the staffs and also extended another 2 days too. it's near to ayala mall and my friend's house's just across the hotel. defintely, we'll go back to stay at this hotel again on our next visit or recommend to friends going to cebu.

Just an OK Hotel”

I booked this room for my brother when he visited Cebu last week. He told me that the hotel looked kind of old but it was okay for him since the room was big. I booked him a superior room but he was upgraded to a Deluxe room so that made him happy. He didn't avail of the breakfast so I can't comment about this one. He told me that if he visits Cebu again, he'll probably choose another hotel that is newer.

i had a wonderful time at the Richmond. My wife liked it because it was close enought to the SM MALL and easy access to taxis. Rooms were very comfortable and the staff was very nice and courteous. I will be staying here again

Near to nightlife. Avoid rooms in higher floors”

We stayed in richmond plaza hotel on two occasions within a week. The first time we had newly renovated rooms on the lower floors which were modern, clean and nice. The second time we stayed in the old rooms in higher floors and those rooms are really old. Can walk to mango plaza and avenue in case interest in entertainment.
