Resorts in Desaru

"We are a family of 2 adults, 2 young kids and 1 senior. We’ve been to Desaru for a few times and stayed in different resorts. We were never satisfied. We went to Lotus with a little skeptical, albeit reading good comments in forums. Receptionist was friendly, we were given a room with fallen exhaust fan in the bathroom and asked for a change. No question asked. In the evening we went for dinner at the coffee house late at 9+ pm and the Captain offered our 2 kids free for the buffet dinner. As our kids would usually take only some dessert and hardly any main course. We were very happy with the nice gesture offered by the Captain, thank you. B/f was pleasant too, with appetizing spread and clean. The crowd was extremely heavy on the day we checked out, as it was a Good Friday Holiday but it was in good order. Our kids enjoyed the water playground a lot. There were guards constantly watching at the crowd – very impressive. There were also a few different pools, one of which is very deep (just be cautioned, I think it’s 1.4m or something, well written at the side of the pool). We would highly recommend this resort as it’s the best we have ever stayed in Desaru. Would love to come back. "

"My friend and I were cycling in Johor and needed a place to sleep around Desaru, we found a promotion at Desaru Tunamaya which seemed decently priced (Rm.67++) and the reviews were good so we decided to stay there. Upon our arrival, first pleasant surprise: the place is extremely easy to find. Then during check-in and without asking for anything: we got upgraded! Room was on ground floor with direct access to the pool area, and had two beds (1 king size and 1 single). The room was very clean and well furnished, quiet and comfortable so we had a great night sleep. The pool is okay (a bit small and super crowded with children) but the beach is just right there and they have someone to clean it every morning. The breakfast buffet was good and overall the staff were very nice and professional. I think the thing we enjoyed the most was the barbecue area near the beach where you get a huge plate of BBQed meats for Rm.40 and you can order drinks, beers etc. I would definitely recommend staying there, the other resorts look just as good but I can only talk about what I know: Desaru Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort is a nice resort, I definitely will come back!"

"I stay at the queen studio. Near tg balau..got swimming pool for kids. Room size smaller than expected..wifi signal a bit slow. Good water pressure..got heater. Got a group of monkeys near the hotel area..tg balau beach was closed when i came here. but can view some parts of it."

"we went to Desaru for fishing and the vills are for us to sleep at night only. But one thing led to another and we ended up sending most of our time in the villa. the room - big. with a 2 seater sofa and a dessing table. the bed - queen size comfortable toilet - got bath tube and standing shower breakfast - so so, nothing to shout about staff - friendly and helpful surrouding - got swimming pool but didn't swim in it, big area, quiet. but some minor renovation to the rooms should be arranged by the management soon, so of the fixture are in pretty bad condition. "
