It was a very nice stay. I would definitely recommend it. The hotel is pretty new, huge, good located, nice staff, amazing breakfast, and has modern rooms. It has everything what you expect for an 4 star hotel, even for European standards. But unfortunately the hotel is located in a small city and thus is pretty lifeless, which explains the cheap price. Unfortunately due to that the pool was not heated and the jacuzzi was empty.

The Saigon Dong Ha Hotel is the best hotel in Dong Ha, and will truly be a 4-star hotel (in any country) once the pool has water in it, the jacuzzi is operational, and the outer landscaping is finished. The hotel is only 1 year old so this is understandable, and acceptable since the rooms, V.I.P. lounge on 8th fl., and restaurant in lobby are so clean, and nice. Honestly, the most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in. If you ask the SUPER FRIENDLY staff for anything 9 out of 10 times they will not understand you. However, there is excellent English speaking staff available, you just have to know who to ask for. As of 5/2013 that is: Front Desk staffs "Huyen", and "Mr. Vinh", as well as one man in the restaurant (forgot his name). The General Managers name is also Mr. Vinh (no relation) and he is also extremely helpful, and has good English skills. I came to Dong Ha specifically to tour Khe Sanh, "The Rockpile", and old DMZ area. Saigon Dong Ha Hotel is absolutely the premiere launching point and location for these tours. I rented the hotel's Ford Everest (with driver Mr. Ny, and F.D. Staff Mr. Vinh for interpreter) for $55 dollars for a 6 hour trip over jungle terrain through rivers, and into remote villages; OUTSTANDING! If you come to Dong Ha and are Not a scroungy backpacker, and your willing to pony up a few extra bucks, this is sooooo obviously the only place to stay in Dong Ha!

We stayed for 3 nights in Sepon. It was big, clean and far from city centre. They have all necessary facilities (swimming pool, gym, spa etc) that allowed us to spend most of our time there. The Cua Viet beach near the resort was beautiful and quiet. Staffs in Sepon are incredibly friendly and helpful. They came to chat with us always. They even offered free fishing trip and free coach service to us. The deputy sales manager, Thoc Uyen, was very friendly and showed excellent hospitality. I would say the staff's service was the highlight of this resort. The only disappointing thing was the spa/ massage. We received only 30 min service while it claimed to be 50 min at first. The attitude of the massage staff was rude. We were disappointed about this incident. The spa/ massage service does not match this 4-star resort which everything else was perfect. I would say Sepon has excellent value for price. It is a good choice to to enjoy quiet and relaxing holidays.

Only problem was traffic noise but everything else was great. The Staff, were particularly helpful with everything, especially the girls at the reception. Clean, excellent large rooms with good TV and bathrooms and large beds. Just take some earplugs as the trucks blast their horns. I think this would affect all hotels in Dong Ha. Great value hotel and thanks again to the beautiful staff.

Family guesthouse that was an ideal stop over on our motorbike tour. Dropped our bags here and drove to the Vin Moc tunnels (worth seeing). The best English is spoken by their children who are excited to meet you. Wish there was more in the area so we could've stayed longer! Pros: Cheap / clean / big rooms / very friendly family / ate good dinner here for 40k / secure parking / lovely family Cons:

Unsurprisingly rough around the edges given the rare instances that people might go on holiday to a border crossing, but liveable all the same! It's a bit overpriced in my view but convenient. Welcoming staff and friendly hotel restaurant was fun and produced a good meal. Good rest stop before/after a border trip with a decent wifi connection. Border crossing to Laos was walkable without too much effort, although on reflection it would be a minimal expense to pay a motorbike and make it easier.
