Find Hotels in Cao Bang Province, Vietnam

Stayed here for a night, because unsure of connecting bus timing (Hanoi to Cao Bang, Cao Bang to Ban Gioc). My aim is to get to Ban Gioc waterfalls the next day. Hotel is near Cao Bang bus terminal (10mins walk), have to cross river via the bridge. Shower/bathroom is new and clean. Everything (towels, blanket, bedsheet etc) looked clean. One of the staff (owner??) speaks good English and can give you guidance. Cao Bang to Ban Gioc bus (~every 30mins) will pass by hotel, before heading to outside of bus terminal, then to Ban Gioc waterfalls. Just flag the bus. Bus ride is 2.5hrs, 70,000VND. Owner can help to arrange for bus back to Hanoi at no extra fee and offers free pick up from hotel to bus terminal. Cao Bang-> Hanoi bus fare 200K VND for sleeper, same as other passengers.

The hosts were very nice, especially Anh. She knows just enough english and use google translate to recommend places to eat and to see. I stayed there 6 nights, as it was totally hasle free : I could rent a good semi-auto motorbike there, ride and choose to spend the night in BaoLac or somewhere else, or decide at the last minute to come back. They were very flexible, accommodating with my changing schedules, and kept my backpack during my motorbike loops. The place is very clean, the bedcheets are frequently washed and changed, bathrooms at each floor are clean with hot shower. There's also a rooftop. The place's location is ideal, close to the main street of Cao Bang where they block traffic on week ends to let children play on it. Small but authentic and charming town. In the end Anh arranged my bus and dropped me at the bus station, as she did for the other rare guests. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is not difficult to find as it is right next to the main street. Just keep a look out for the sign. Checking in was a confusion as the lady who attended to us did not speak English. So, that was interesting. Booked with Agoda which told me to pay in USD, but on arrival, they only wanted VND. Lucky we had enough VND to pay. Food shops just 2mins walk away and the main market of this small town maybe 600m away. The market is rather quiet after Sunset. So please plan your visit before that. The rooms are clean and big enough. Everything works, so I have no complaints. The beds are rather hard and tough for me. Not much problem for the rest of the fellows I was with, So it really depends. The owner of the hotel would let guest part their motorcycles in the lobby. Better safe than sorry I guess.
