Hi,Our family of 6 stayed at the Red Rock Hotel for three days it's was in a very good location close to shops eateries within walking distance only. Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms make the hotel an excellent choice.Clean swimming pool with beautiful views. Hope the hotel can provide towels for those who use the pool. And I'm not satisfied with breakfast at the hotel because the menu is very simple and same every day, also not satisfied with the hot drinks such as coffee / tea because it does not provide a creamer. Apart from that our family is very satisfied with RED ROCK HOTEL. and will come again.

The plus sides: THE LOCATION It was my second stay in Red Rock Hotel. So far, it was okay. What makes me choosing this hotel is its strategic location for sure. It was always easy to find hawker stalls that sell food around the hotel nearby. If you are going to Loh Guan Lye Specialists Center or Island Hospital, it is around RM. 2-4 per ride with online application taxi service or if you'd care to walk, it would also do too, usually takes less than 30 mins (depends on your own walking speed). -THE ROOM PRICE I got quite a fair good offer from Agoda.com. So, speechless about it. The minus sides: -It was an old, not stylist nor hip enough kinda hotel. If you usually stay in 5 stars hotel, this might not be suitable for you. -The staff are okay. The most friendliest and helpful staff will be the porter dudes and probably the housekeeping dudes. -The breakfast is definitely eatable (I will survive kinda food!). Not good or even the best. 1-10, it is 5. -The cleanliness is average below. On my second stay with them, I got all smelly pillows that I requested to be changed afterwards. On my first stay, I got the hair clogged shower drain that needed me to call for housekeeping help. -Their slippers are not provided unless you request them. Although in the end, I finally requested them, they were also useless, cause the slippers are torn up easily. Imagine! Yep, although Red Rock Hotel hotel comes with so much flaws. I think that if the room price is fair and good, I will still return to stay with them.

*check-in was simple. hotel asked for RM100 as deposit and RM$2 per person, city tax. *in-room wifi was horrible and choppy. wifi on smartphone says wifi from level 6 and 8 and level 7 is not to be found. both wifi from level 6-8 were horribly weak. wifi signal from GLOW hotel which is opposite the road was FULL SIGNAL!!!. I had to turn on my own Celcom prepaid internet on my smartphone to tether/ hotspot to my friend's room from my room. He was very upset and told me never to stay at RED ROCK HOTEL ever again!- He also hated the breakfast which came with the room rate.

I’m booking this hotel for My parents who goes to malaysia for check up, they always want to stay at here at the family room hotel, although i never go there but i know red rock is an old hotel. but despite that everything is ok and a perfect place for stay if your family is going there for check up 😊

Overall Red Rock hotel do give all the basic facilities that you can expect from a hotel, swimming pool, ballroom, buffet breakfast, king size bed, clean room, nice view over George Town. with the budget price tag, the hotel had offer the best they can offer.

getting old”

I have stayed at the red rock for many years but now it is showing it's age. The shower drain never went down so in the morning I took a shower with 6 inches of cold water. The air conditioner is leaking from the ceiling so the floor was always wet. The refrigerator did not work. However, the rooms are big much larger than the other hotels.

Friendly staff and good location”

I can feel welcoming and the staffs are really friendly. I was offered a free baby cot when i asked via Agoda. Good location if you have transport and familiar with Georgetown. Good local food everywhere around the hotel. Will stay again if go to Georgetown

Convenient good budget hotel”

Good overall stay during rmco. Hotel and room looks old but is spacious and comfortable. Bed stiffness is just nice and rather good condition. Nice and courteous staff. Disappointed with pool renovation going on. Will definitely consider staying here again when visit Penang. Eateries are nearby and within walking distance.

It's a great location for staying on Penang. You may not to worries about foods, drinks and entertainment. There has a convenience store just at the lobby and also, beside the hotel there got a shop selling few type of local product (example: Penang White Coffee and etc.). More, over there still have some food courts just nearby the hotel and around 16 minutes walk or more minute(s) you are able go to Komtar and few shopping mall (example: 1st Avenue, Prangin Mall and etc.). Beside, there still has a cafe just open at daylight, there are selling "Hong Kong Dim Sum" and it is full of customers. .

Well maintained old hotel”

For my childhood memory, this hotel has been here for more than 30 years, consider well maintained with the renovation that no more old carpet but a concrete floor, overall reasonable price during CNY with breakfast (don't complain with the price you paid for). Location super strategic nearby all hawker food day and night eat till you drop.

Make your money worth”

Right in the heart of George Town, there isn't any other hotel to beat its price. Rooms are big, amenities are ample, hawker food at the doorstep, and for all these, you don't pay more than other hotels of the same.

RED ROCK HOTEL BEST FOR ITS LOCATION”

Generally, Red Rock Hotel best for its location. There is convenience store at ground floor make it another plus point for the Hotel. The room is average in term of spacious, cleanliness and furniture. However, the staff is good and the check-in and check-out process was very fast.

I Was On My Unplanned Trip With My Family. Booked On 2/1 6pm,, Check In An Hour After.. Staff Was Helpful,, The Sabahan Lady Was Very Nice.. I Cant Remember Her Name.. 1 Room Got Facilities Such Water Heater, Hair Dryer, Soap, Brush&Toothpaste,Mini Fridge, Jug Kettle n Glass.. They Didnt Provide Iron & Board But No Problem Since I Didnt Use Them.. Maybe You Can Get Upon Requsted.. Bathroom Have BathTub,, MyKids Really Enjoy Bathing.. City View Was Nice At Early Morning 💕 n I Will Repeat If Travel To Penang Again.

best point is the hotel staff, very friendly and alert. the house keeping is not so good thou. our pillow was smelly when we arrived and changed upon request. the next morning we were late to leave the room and the house keeping were forceful on request us to allow him to come in to do his duty while we were still in the room getting ready for our day. convenient stall within hotel. breakfast is average. location is great. parking is a bit limited. air conditioner was good, its cold. the room is big enough.

This is my second time stay in this hotel and i like it very much. The staff give me bathub as my request and i really enjoy it.The room very clean and bigger than i can imagine before. I have good breakfast in the morning with many choices of food. Other than that, i have no problem at all.Maybe we will come again to enjoy the swimming pool coz we have to rush to check out. And thank you to staff coz give me extra time to checkout until 12.30 pm Last but not least, its really strategic place coz near with mamak and many stalls and near town. I have nice exprience here. Worth for short stay, don't expect too much on breakfast”

Location - strategic with Penang hawker food heaven. Room - Renovated quite clean and big for twin room. Hair dryer attached, those old people who like Astro 333 must stay here. Parking - free parking just need reception validation before driving out. Transport - Penang is full of Grab, nothing to worry about. Facility - Jump electric for around 5-10 mins for few floors. Reception - friendly and polite Breakfast - don't expect too much
