As usual, a Most Relaxing Stay”

As usual, we have had a wonderful stay at Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort. I am most appreciative that the staff try their best to give me the same room I've stayed in, although this time, I was given another room just opposite from the room I stayed in before, and I enjoyed this room just as much. The room on the 21st level is as usual, large and spacious and the furniture is pretty dated, BUT everything works. LOVE the balcony where we have our tea and enjoy not only the cool sea-breeze but also the lovely scenery. The swimming pool is what makes us come back time and again to Rainbow Paradise - it has a super waterfall that pours into a shallow pool so I can sit under there to meditate, and let the waterfall give me a jolly good head and shoulder massage! The pool is surrounded by lovely greenery and it is charming to find pink and white Frangipani flowers that have fallen from the trees and floating serenely in the pool. Buffet breakfast is provided and while the variety isn't big, still, it is adequate, with the usual freshly fried eggs done any style you like, breads and other pastries, local nasi lemak (coconut rice) with the usual condiments (the sambal ikan bilis is quite tasty!) and, depending on the day, pancakes, waffles or bread pudding, roti canai (or prata, Indian fried pancake,depending on the region you come from!), yoghurt and cut fruit. There are many restaurants and eateries just across the road from the hotel, and even a hawker centre with a stall that sells a pretty decent chicken rice and a stall selling soybean drink and beancurd. There is even a massage place that has reasonable prices, just next to the 7-eleven, at the further end of the row of shophouses opposite the hawker centre. Rainbow Paradise is a really good place to chill out and have a relaxing holiday. And I am SO looking forward to the next visit in September 2017!

While i highly recommend Rainbow Paradise there were some issues during check in. It might be due to the new inexperienced staff at counter but i must praise the senior Check In staff, a pleasant lady for helping us rectify the checking in. Overall this one hotel you must stay when you come to Penang. It has everything you need, swimming pool , beach 100 feet after the pool and many beach activities. Its also easy to get around with Grab and lots of food down the road. I would recommend booking early and confirming thru email. As for parking its a first come first serve basis as parking spots are limited. Enjoy your stay , have fun and collect sweet memories at Rainbow Paradise Tg Bungah Penang. Joos!!!!

Large rooms with fantastic views”

we have now stayed five times at paradise sandy bay beach resort and will stay again in march 2012.we have recommended this resort to both family and friends who have also enjoyed their stays. the hotel is well located half way between georgetown and batu ferringhi with the local bus service right outside its front door. the hotel is in one of penangs up market suburbs tanjung bungah and is located on a beautiful bay. the rooms are "roomy" and comfortable and the resort provides all the same services available at batu ferringhi resorts, but at about a third of the cost.this includes restaurants, bars, pool and water sports.

Paradise Sandy Bay Beach Resort, Penang, Malaysia”

We booked this resort based on price as reviews were generally mixed, we were not sure what to expect.From the moment we arrived we were impressed by how friendly and helpful all staff we encountered were.A level that was maintained for our 6 day stay.Having read mixed reviews we were also highly impressed by the standard of the rooms and began to wonder about the negative reviews we had read. The suite we had on the 23rd floor had new carpet, was freshly painted, and was both spacious and clean. The views from our balcony across the bay and back to the hills were as good as it gets. The Hotel itself was in good shape with a nice pool and pool area. The Beach, which is adjoined directly to the resort was excellent with a full range of water sports available.Breakfast was good and the Hotel provided a small but full range to satisfy most tastes.Regular and very inexpensive bus services are also available directly outside the resort for those who wish to travel to Georgetown or Batu Ferringhi. As with all such resorts and hotels this one provides a full range of tour services, foreign exchange facilities etc. All in all this hotel was great value for money and we will be returning in March/April 2010 to enjoy both it and Penang for a much longer stay. I should add we have been twice previously to Penang and stayed in more expensive Resorts at Batu Ferringhi. All of our future stays will be at Paradise Sandy Bay Beach Resort.

Great Holiday”

My wife and i had a pleasant stay in this hotel. Our room, the floor in the living hall and the bathroom are clean. There's no stains on the bathtub, wall and basin. The air conditioner in the living hall and the bedroom are in working order..... it's cold. All the staffs are very polite and greet you with a smile. I must say that the food for breakfast are all the same no matter which hotel you stay...... as for me, it's good. We're very happy to stay in this hotel and definitely we will stay here again whenever we go to Penang. Hopefully we can have the same room 1510 again and we have recommended to our relatives to stay in this hotel. Thank you to all the staffs of Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort and hope to see you all again 😊

Sandy Paradise Resort-great place”

Overall, Sandy Paradise Resort Hotel in Tanjung Bungah is a great family hotel. Great seaviews from room and very spacious pool facing the beach front. The Manager on duty and most staffs are very attentive to all guest. During my check-in, there was a delay due to high occupancy and our rooms were not ready. While we waited for another 20 minutes, the The Manager on that day explained the situation to us and later came up to our room to make sure we are happy with the room. Great customer service! We will definitely choose our stay here on our future visit to Penang.

Value for Money”

This hotel/resort is the best value for money hotel in Penang. We paid half the price of hotels in Batu Ferringhi but certainly received far far better than half the value. The hotel is brilliantly located at Tanjung Bungha, halfway between Georgetown and Batu Ferringhi with the regular air conditioned rapid bus service travelling in both directions. [Georgetown RM2 & Batu Ferringhi RM1.40]. The suite we had was fantastic with views over both the bay and the hills.The pool area is terrific and the beach is good with all water sports at your disposal.We have now stayed at this hotel twice [having previously stayed at Batu Ferringhi 3 times] and we will be returning to Paradise Sandy Bay Beach Resort for our third stay in October.

FAMILY VACATION at PENANG”

I choose Rainbow Paradise Beach resort for several reason. 1- Near the beach, so you can enjoy beach scenery, the wind blowing during morning till evening, and a lot of beach activities you can do such as jet skiing, para gliding, swimming or just relax at the beach. 2- The rooms was big enough for my family, wife with 2 growing kids. But, during my stay in the hotel, I experiencing not so good smell of my kid's room. Maybe because this hotel quite old hotel and all the furniture was bit outdated. 3- The swimming pool was really good but bit dangerous for kids because the depth level. So, parents must look after their kids in order to prevent from bad thing happen. 4- The hotel was very near to Batu Ferringhi Nite Market where you could shop around and have a meal over there.

What a perfect place to relax!”

First time to this hotel and I was very pleased at being given a room at the 21st floor. I was blown away by the unblocked view (choose the even-numbered rooms as no other hotels block the view) and at how SPACIOUS the room was - it even had a kitchenette with a small breakfast nook. The balcony was very spacious although the aircon compressor made the area a tad warm. The hotel boasts of a fantastic swimming pool complete with waterfall which you can sit under and enjoy the pounding blasts - great for soothing the stresses away. We were there on a weekday, so we had the pool to ourselves. The beach nearby was decent enough but the warnings about jellyfish gave me cause for concern, hence we didn't attempt swimming there. The hotel also has optional water activities for the athletically-inclined - Banana Boat Rides, Jetski, and Para-sailing. The buffet spread was adequate - the usual egg station and toasted bread, the ever-present nasi goreng or mee goreng and cereals. It was definitely value for money, and the staff there made it a very pleasant stay. I will definitely be making another trip there in September, and will choose to stay at Rainbow Paradise.

recommended to 1st timer to penang to experience good pleasant stay in penang island. little delay during checkup due to no wifi available in lobby, had to print out the booking voucher at the nearby cc. great room, nice bedding, huge bathroom but average pool size and nice food as well. overall my family love it. even my sister extended her stay in penang switch to this hotel . rainbow paradise should give me commission for that hahaha.

Lovely hotel to stay in”

I always love coming back to Rainbow Paradise and its a relaxing hotel, with a huge and spacious room, and equally spacious balcony. Love the view from 2213 (it faces Flamingo Hotel), in my opinion, the best view. The swimming pool is wonderful, with a waterfall you could sit under and get a pounding massage on your head and shoulders. Love that! Great that the hotel has access to the beach, and lots of sea activities to try out (para-sailing, jetski and canoeing, but we were too lazy to try them out!) This time the cost of our room did not include buffet breakfast, but no matter, plenty of cafes just across the road to try out, and a decent hawker center (Mutiara Foodcourt) just further up, about a 5-minute walk. Near the Foodcourt is a pretty decent massage place - MV Foot Reflexology - with reasonable pricing. Only on Tuesday evenings from 5pm - 10pm, there is a night market - Tanjung Bungah Night Market which sells pretty good food and lots of knick-knacks. Its about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel (go past Flamingo Hotel, and keep walking till you see Georgetown Pharmacy opposite the road, and cross at the traffic light there to get to the night market)

Old hotel with seaviews and seaside”

I stayed in Paradise Beach Resort, Tanjung Bungah from 21st - 23rd April 2012. The resort is old but maintain to its standard. I love the environment around the resort, which is not too crowded and not too far away from the happening spot-Gurney Drive. During our stay, the staff were polite and greeted us whenever they saw us. The room that I stayed (Deluxe Paradise Suite) is spacious which is reasonable for its price. Breakfast was better during the weekends compared to weekdays and came with the basic items- nasi lemak, mee goreng, dim sum, cereals, salads, fruits, omelet.

Decent experience”

This was my first trip to Penang with my brother in over 10 years. We scoured for reviews and naturally tended to more of the 'safe' choices, and decided on Paradise Sandy Bay. Needless to say, the hotel did not disappoint. For ~61USD/night, the quality of the staff, the cleanliness and size of the rooms was superb. We lost our vouchers for breakfast the 2nd day in (of our 6-day trip) and the staff was very helpful and quick to provide us with new ones. The only asterisk I can honestly put would be in regards to traveling to and from places in Penang from the hotel. This place is located between popular tourist locations like Batu Ferringhi, Georgetown and Gurney Drive, we spent a lot of money taking Taxis traveling between places. The hotel has a shuttle service towards these destinations but it's schedule is too infrequent. We didn't want to plan our trip around bus schedules unless we had to. During our stay, we tried their food in both the Gaya's Poolside Bar and breakfast from Bistro Delifrance, food from the poolside bar is excellent, they serve a mean Chow Kway Teow but the breakfast is rather average. All in all, for the budget traveler(if you are looking at hotels around this price, you are one) I feel that Paradise is an excellent choice provided that you are the type that lounges around the premises most of the time. For those who that like to travel around more should look for a budget hotel in other destinations so as to save up on traveling fees, but for us, this trip has been nothing short of excellent and would consider staying in this hotel again.

Paradise Sandy Bay Beach Resort Penang is a prrety good place in penang malaysia.the pool and the beach is pretty good and have very good view.and also it have very plenty food for breakfast,the fruit is very fresh.the staff of the hotel is also very polite.they will help you to solve everything. a little bit weakless is that Paradise Sandy Bay Beach Resort Penang is a little bit far from the city centre.

Fantastic views of the ocean from the room ”

The beach at Tanjung Bungah is not as clean as we are used to in Australia. It was easy to get a bus from in front of the hotel to get to the airport(hourly service). The bus to and from Georgetown and to Batu Feringhi are more frequent(every 15-20minutes)Batu Feringhi have a lot more restaurants than Tanjung Bungah. Great patisserie close to the hotel and the Indian restaurant across the road was fabulous we ate there most nights.

I & family had lots of fun staying at Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort. We got a room partially sea side view. The kids enjoyed the stay very much. We will definietly come and stay again at Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort.

Amazing”

Rainbow Paradise is one of the affordable hotels in that Tanjung Bungah which is in fact near to Batu Ferringgi. The service is slow at times but the hotel is nice with large rooms facing the ocean. Guests can enjoy both pool and beach from the hotel. Hotel pub is open at night.

Great location with lovely beach activities”

Being a corporate employee with hectic lifestyle, I seldom have the chance to experience calmness and relax atmosphere and staying in Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort was surprisingly relaxing. I fell asleep by the beach while reading a book despite the heat from the sun and breezy wind. Children had a fun time on the jet ski and boat. Really lovely experience.

Fantastic Hotel, value for money”

We have now stayed at this hotel 7 times after previously staying at Batu Ferringhi. The locaton of this Hotel on the beach at Tanjung Bungah halfway between Georgetown and Batu Ferringhi is ideal. The Rapid Transit bus service runs right past the hotel on its way to either of Georgetown or Batu Ferringhi. The management of this hotel is seconf to none and the service matches those high standards. All of the staff, Front desk, restaurant, door, cleaners, pool and maintenance provide a high level of friendly service. We are booked in again for our eighth stay in April 2013. {i think that alone says a lot].

If u must go to Penang then this is a good hotel.”

Firstly I must say that I wouldn't go to Penang again. Over developed and crowded. They also rely on many Indian / Pakistani workers who have no English and are plain bloody miserable. Every single person I met said the same. Georgetown - who made that a heritage town? Ah well I had a day there and then went back a couple of days later in case I'd missed something - no it's just a mess and to add insult to injury I got hit by a motorcycle riding on the pavement. However if you need to be in Penang then this hotel was great. The reception staff were really nice and helpful. My room was on the top floor and although sea eagles are not very common in Penang (unlike Langkawi) one honoured me by flying just below my large, very useful balcony! The restaurant was fine, not fancy but good breakfasts and although I never managed a smile from any of the breakfast staff (I'm cancelling my stand up tour after that gig I'm telling you) they did recognise me and bring honey to my table as soon as I walked in each morning! NB. There's an awful disco thingy in the in-house night club so try to get a high room. I never heard it at all but I wouldn't want to be below the 10th floor just in case. There is a small private area of beach and a nice pool area but it's not huge. Luckily the council had recently purged the beach of awfyl messy unlicensed traders so lets hope it stays that way. Bus stops outside so easy travel and the taxi drivers are outside of course too. My DIGI sim card and data cards worked all over malaysia so I got really cheap phone calls and internet in Panang too.
