Excellent Hotel in Excellent Location”

Having used Radisson Blu hotels in Europe, I was impressed to find that the standards of the Radisson Blu on Daisy Street, Sandton, Johannesburg were as good if not better than those I had previously experienced. The staff were all unfailingly polite and helpful, and my driver, Abram, who whilst not working for the hotel directly was there every day and provided excellent service and advice about Johannesburg. The breakfasts were a feast, with a wide range of options to suit every taste. I will definitely return - it was that good.

Loved this hotel ”

We asked for a room on a higher floor since this was the last stop for our daughter on a family holiday. With the rest of us continuing to travel for two weeks we wanted it to be special for her. Raddison Blu surpassed all our expectations with an upgrade to the penthouse. Four bedrooms (all with ensuite), huge living spaces and fantastic views on three levels, we felt truly spoilt and did not want to leave. We had a dinner and breakfasts in the excellent restaurant, daughters enjoyed the superlative gymnasium and pool facilities (there is a running track around the inside of the building on this high floor) while the bar and the sports coverage were appreciated by son and husband. Radisson Blu is located in a safe part of Johannesburg (Sandton) and we happily walked the 10 minutes to the nearby shopping mall, shuttle buses brought us back after dark. We felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed Johannesburg, our three nights was not enough - much to our surprise. The fabulous staff and lovely facilities would be available to all but the penthouse was a fabulous treat.

Easter Getaway”

My brother in law and I travelled to Johannesburg to celebrate his birthday from 19th to 21st April. With assistance from agoda we located Radisson Blu Sandton Hotel and booked our stay for a very reasonable amount. The stay was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed drinks at the bar and the awesome swimming pool on the 8th Floor which overlooks some great architectural designs of Sandton. The breakfast is also to look forward to.

Excellent service ”

We will highly recommend the Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived until our departure. It was our 30 th wedding anniversary, the extremely friendly staff went out of their way to make this momentous occasion a memorable one for us. We will always treasure our stay at the Radisson Blu Sandton Hotel as it was priceless. Keep up the excellent service!!

Wonderful hotel in a great location”

My only negative comment is the confusion that arises from having two Radisson Blu hotels with 2 blocks of each other. Both Google Map and telephone number search function on the internet return info on the Gautrain hotel instead of the Sandton hotel. Surely a little more originality could be put into the naming of these hotels so this confusion does not arise. I wonder how many guests have fumed over this easily fixed problem?

Amazing Honeymoon Weekend!”

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Radisson Blu, Johannesburg and it was amazing! The staff were very helpful and friendly. They made our room romantic with rose petals on arrival and in the evening surprised us with a bottle of wine and snacks. This was impeccable service and they really want out of their way to make this a memorable weekend for my wife and I! Thank you Radisson Blu!

Fantastic breakfast”

Very comfortable room, 500 metres from the Radisson Blu Gautrain Sandton Hotel (yes, there are 2 Radisson Blus at Sandton). The breakfast buffet has the biggest range that I have seen and everything I had was delicious.

Great hotel, but can be improved”

Radisson Blu is different from it's sister hotel Radisson Blu Gautrain. The reception is on L13 to check in/out and I had a great big room on L20 to help me wind down after 2 weeks worth of traveling from SA to Swaziland to Mozambique and back to Kruger National Park. The pool looked amazing on L8 but it was too cold for me to enjoy it. The hotel provides half-hourly shuttle service to office / shopping mall / train station which is very helpful for all hotel guests. The staff are very friendly! The Seared Tuna Salad available for dine in room service or at the restaurant, is a must-try!!! It's lovely! I will stay at Radisson Blu again!

Exceptional Service ”

I would gladly recommend staying at the Radisson Blu hotel. I would like to say a special thanks to the reservation team as well as Francis Kabela and the housekeeping team for making me and my fiance stay as memorable as possible. Everything I requested was exactly on point in terms of a romantic turn down for an engagement proposal. Thank you for all the effort that was put in making it as romantic as possible. Thank you Radisson team you are all amazing.

Good comfort, service and design ”

Did at first not realize there were 2 Radisson Blu in Johannesburg but was offered a shuttle to take me to the correct one. Shuttle also connects to the Gautrain and Nelson Mandela square. Room was slightly noisy from the courtyard bar and outside traffic.

A very good hotel”

The Radisson Blu Hotel is a wonderful hotel with great facilities. Perhaps its only weakness is the breakfast [I have had many better buffets] and the walk from the train station to the hotel. The other Radisson hotel is actually in a better situation. However I would recommend this hotel to any traveler to the area

Excellent modern hotel in heart of Sandton”

I was staying for one night layover in Joburg and wanted to stay in Sandton to see something of the city during my overnight. This was a fabulous hotel, super modern, very posh lobby and bar area, fantastic pool (I was there from 4-6pm and it was in the sunlight). There is also a pool bar. The room was superb - very large, king bed, sofa with coffee table, espresso machine (!), huge bathroom with bathtub on one side and "rain"-style shower on the other. The hotel has a free shuttle within the area, so I was able to get to Nelson Mandela Square as well as the Gautrain station very easily. Would highly recommend. I think that for the price found on Agoda, this was a very good deal. You won't want to leave the room! The hotel also has a truly amazing fitness center and spa, I used both as was very impressed.

Excellent Value with Great Rooms and Facilities”

After staying at a few different hotels in Sandton, Radisson Blu has become my preferred hotel of choice - good modern well designed rooms, great gym, good breakfast and very friendly staff. Only issue is location where you are somewhat dependent on the shuttle once it gets dark but it is a minor issue when you weigh up the positives

No issues, very good hotel and hotel chain”

1. I'm very greatful to the staff for upgrading me to an executive suite. 2. Area is v ery good, not the best, but being in a city like Joburg, it's pretty much one of the better places. 3. The parking is not free...but it;s "free", i.e they pay for your parking. 4. Honestly, I can't stress enough how good the staff were. They were smart, very well trained, polite, observant and attentive. 5. Hotel and rooms are spacious and very clean, you are well taken care of here. 6. I would definetaly recommend this hotel to anyone and prices are fairly reasonable. BTW, they have an execellent restaurant, so you if you don;t want to go out for a gourmet meal, just go downstairs. 7. Only possible issue, lack of free/normal entertainment channels. 8. I want to join the radisson blu club :).

Great location. Very helpful staff”

We went from the airport only couple stops on Gautrain R151 to Radisson Blu Gautrain then their free shuttle short distance to Radisson Blu. All staff so very helpful. Free shuttle to shopping mall & lovely girl on reception gave us a late check out for our late flight. Great hotel.

Birthday Stay”

Our one night stay at Radisson Blu Sandton, was great. We were celebrating a birthday. I am not impressed with the price of the parking per day then. Most hotels have free parking, this is a rip off to guests, especially if you staying there for a few days.

Nice hotel with friendly staff”

The hotel is very nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good. Location is a bit worse than similar Radisson Blu Gautrain, but it is also a bit cheaper. I liked the window view, the staff, breakfast. I liked less the bathroom - water in the faucet trickled down and sink in the shower drained water slowly. I definitely would recommend and will stay again next time.

Good value for money”

A 10min walk or short ride from the Sandton Gautrain station so very conveniently placed yet, when I booked, significantly cheaper than the Radisson opposite the station. Excellent if you want fitness facilities as it sits atop a huge gym and swimming pool complex. Also has its own outdoor pool. Good rooms. Occasionally you have to chase to get a missing item replaced or a non-working item repaired.

Good & nice place”

Stay was good, satff was helpful. The location is very good and room nice. The restaurant was expensive and not so good. You have 2 spa at le radisson: 1 on the 10 floor service was not so good but at the ground floor the cocoon spa was wonderful very good service and cheaper. The hotel provide free shuttle service to Mandela square and city Mall that is very convenient. If you are looking for a place safe and comfort you can book this place. I will be back again to Radisson blu for next visit.

Got what I paid for ”

Got a good deal from Agoda for a 4-night stay. The property was located centrally in Sandton so it was easy to get around. The staff I met were very cordial and professional however the daily room cleaning/service wasn’t consistent (face towels not replaced, water bottles not always refilled, window left open after cleaning, door ajar when I first arrived, no iron in the room when I arrived and when I asked for one to be brought to my room it was defective, etc). I only ate one meal at the hotel (room service - a burger and fries). The bun was toasted to a crisp and burger itself wasn’t that great (compared to the food I ate in all the other restaurants I went to in the surrounding areas). The carpet needed to be washed. All that said, I got a good deal on the rate, so I got what I paid for, but I wouldn’t pay the regular rate. This is a 3.5-4 star hotel.
