Strategic location in town”

I traveled with 2 friends and we stayed at the triple room. QSB is located very strategically in the town (off Queen Street) which is the reason I booked. Easy access to public transportation, supermarket, shops, walking distance to the Auckland harbor and Auckland tower. kitchen facilities is also good. Welcoming staffs. Check in and check out in a breeze. We got the room facing Fort St. It can be a bit noisy at night with bars and clubs below but we have no problem with that. If you want quieter room, you might ask. Parking is also a bit expensive around the area, you might want to ask the reception on cheaper parking area. We were told to park at Bringham St. (20mins walk away), which we did and happy as we managed to find a free park there while having a good time walking pass Auckland harbor, Silo park and waterfront on the way back/from QSB.

Good Place to stay In Auckland”

This is a great place to stay if you want to stay in CBD Auckland as a solo traveler. I would personally recommend staying in a different area of Auckland such as Mission Bay. This hotel was ideally located for shopping and food. There wasn't any parking if you have a car or rental car so be aware of that as parking garages are very expensive. Overall the location was great, the price was fair, the facilities were adequate, and I'd recommend it if you this is the neighborhood you want to be in.

Expectations exceeded”

It is y first time to book in this type of accommodation and I may say I’m impressed. The single room is what I need. Though there are common areas like the bathroom, for me is not a problem. The breakfast is add-on. The staff is very accommodating. Will definitely recommend and book again when I travel to Auckland.

Laundry cost 4 nz$ for wash + 4nz$ for dryer. Check out is 10 am. Breakfast is very simple with toast (peanutbutter/jam/butter and cornflakes (milk). Very kind staff. Possible to work there when spot opens up (for accomodation), location is right next to Queen street (bus station and train station Britomart close). Food and bars, supermarked, cinema, library in walking distance. Slept well, ask for extra blanket in winter! I might to here next time, but I might also check out another one to compare. Had a great stay!

Right in d center of LITERALLY EVERYTHING All the ferry departs right two streets away, all the malls and cinemas and supermarkets are streets away, kfc and bars, Louis Vuitton Gucci Prada etc right at the same junction below QSB. Yes alot ppl complaint that it is noisy but to me it is lovely and friendly. Altho i didnt join in others on pool table or drinking session chatting n all, but i can see that everyone is happy. The wifi is slow during peak hours when everyone is using it but when it isnt then it is fine. They give u extensions plugs so awesome i could charge everything i have all my devices together in one go heehee

Everything you need”

It's a fairly good hostel in a good location for a very good price, especially in winter. I've been here several times and it's got everything you need, a big common area and a basic breakfast. It can be a bit loud at night on the weekends as it's directly next to Queen street, but that comes with a perfect location right in the CBD.

friendly staff, clean facilities”

We stayed for 2 nights here. the location is okay but quite noisy at night since there was a pub downstairs. for us, it was not bothering too much but if you are sensitive with noise, you should think twice when you choose this place. The kitchen was very clean and well equipped. Showers and toilets are enough and well maintained. I would stay here again if I come to Auckland again.

Great staff, great location, pity about the cigarette smell in the stairwell ”

Very friendly and helpful staff. The facilities are somewhat eclectic and dated but I see that as a positive. Adds character! As a backpackers, it is everything you need and nothing you don't. For me personally, a small downside was the smell of the smokers outside that drifted up the stairwell and lingered 24/7. Not sure what could be done about it apart from keeping the front door shut. Aside from that, I had a great stay. Check it, it's worth it!

I spent two nights at this hostel and was positively surprised in every way. Reception staff is great and available 24hrs. I was afraid of feeling cold, but it was wonderful warm heated and you can have extra blankets if you want to. You have comfortable kitchen area and lot of entertainment even in rainy days. The room itseelf had no big space or wardrobe for the lagguage, but or me it was fine anyway Some matresses have been recently purchased, but for me also the foam ones are confi. Best thing about this backpackers are the amazing people who live here and made my stay memorable and so great😍! Absolutely recomendable

A Better experience for me than staying in Choice Backpacker Hostel”

So much better in the various aspects of a hostel experience in Auckland, New Zealand than say, Choice Backpacker Hostel. Paid only slightly more in my case but better in terms of worth. And good free breakfast!

Great in terms of location but that's about it”

The location is excellent, right in the heart of Queen Street and it's right next to places for late night food as well, easy to get to from the airport and only 5 mins to the bus to airport. I understand it's a budget hostel but I did not have a pleasant stay there. First of all, the hostel is right at above a bar and the noise at night is very loud and doesn't stop until 3/4am on a week day. The one thing I need from this place is to be able to sleep but I just absolutely could not. Also, other people staying in the hostel were showering and banging their doors at 3/4am in the morning as well. In terms of facilities, the room is good size but only has a bed & a mirror, they charge $10 for towels when other hostels provide them for free. The girl was lovely when I first checked in although they didn't have my room ready yet but when I returned to the hostel and check in for the second time, the second staff member was more concerned with chatting with her friends than checking me in. I have stayed in many hostels before and Queen Street Backpackers disappointed me.

Everything was good - clean, helpful staff with exception to the flight of stairs. Not a good idea if you have a heavy luggage. And, quite a number of drunks on the street right outside the backpacker.

The location is convenient. It is along the Queens Street so its near to the shops, food stalls and across there's a bus stop . But if you have big luggage, (just like me when I went here) it would be difficult to go up 2-3 floors, no elevators! :( There is a bar nearby this hostel so sometimes it is a bit noisy. But overall my stay was ok.

A good place with good people”

I spent more or less 2 weeks in this hostel, the included breakfast is very comfortable if you start work very early 😁 the staff is very friendly and helpful, 2 kitchen are very useful with a lot of people!!! The only think, but is normal because of the centre, is the noise if your room look the street, but in the centre is very normal, but if you are looking for no noise for a long time, meybe better check outside the centre... i recommend it!!!

great place and very good value to stay with good location and nice staffs”

I got a huge discount on Agoda making the price unbeatable that I had to book for several nights. It's clean and nice and especially the free breakfast is a huge plus. The only negative thing about this hostel is it's right by the street which can be very noisy during weekends nights, but again this is also the plus cuz it's right in the downtown area where everything is right next by. Also the most important thing is it's SAFE.

Pros: close to Skybus stop (Fort St is literally 50 metres away from Queen St Skybus drop off). Central location in Auckland CBD, stayed in 6 Bed Female dorm, room is OK size, clean bathrooms, free breakfast, good wifi, friendly staff. Cons: small kitchen, no lift (you will need to carry luggage up a few flights of stairs).

Good location and suitable for solo traveler. Easy assess to Britomart, Auckland train hub. Plenty of food options around. Annoying sound when people next door close their door.

Great location to catch buses going to anywhere inside or outside Auckland. Great for a one-night stay.

good internet, you can store your backpack for free after the check out, showers dont have much preasure, and there is none heathing in the rooms, also loud in the weekends cuz you are right there in queen street, but nice beds and free earplugs 👌

Good hostel, great location”

Bar in the hostel, good commonarea, ok rooms. Best location, would stay here again. Nice sports bar for brekkie and drinking next door. Could be a bit noisy t night, but that's what we where in the city for so just drink enough and you'll sleep like a baby.
