Could use updating”

We chose this hotel because of the price and the price for having a dog. It was fine, but could definitely use some updating!

Improvements are needed.”

We needed 3 rooms and were traveling with a dog. Their rate for a dog was $25 which was 2/3 less than we were previously going to stay, plus the rooms were less expensive. The rooms appeared clean. The breakfast was good. The elevator was in dire need of cosmetic repair. Overall the hotel was in need of updating.

Rude front desk”

I was warned about this, but had stayed here before many times over the years, with no problems, so thought O.K. The front desk person was very rude and ended in refusing to check me in. She said she would take the charges off my credit card, but then did not.

Functioning acceptably under difficult conditions.”

Had a few problems not seen here before, like an out-of-order elevator and room keys that required repeated remagnetizing, but the staff were helpful and this is an O.K. place to stay if you can't be home for one reason or another.

The hotel had a good location for my purposes, and was about the only one in the area not overpriced. The staff was friendly and worked hard under difficult conditions. The management, however, could try to locate all dogs in one area of the hotel, as their barking woke me several times.

Poor quality for the price”

Hallway and elevator carpets were dirty. Paneling in elevator was coming off. Curtains in room were ripped (not just a small tear). Someone had apparently smoked in the room and the hotel was trying to cover up the smell. Not their fault, but that never works. Not worth the $110 cost. You can do much better for that price in Lakewood.

stinky hotel”

Was not impressed by this place at all, but I guess it's true that you get what you pay for. I walked in the door (which is RIGHT NEXT to the check-in desk, and therefore makes a noise when you open it), and the gal at the front desk was just staring at her phone, and didn't even look up. I stood there for a while to see if she would acknowledge me on her own, but she didn't until I spoke to her. Meanwhile, the very first thing I noticed was that the whole place REEKED of weed and cigarette smoke. It was overpoweringly strong. Even the elevator smelled. We got to our room, and it smelled a lot better, but still faintly of smoke. The door was so heavy that it slammed loudly every time it opened and shut. Our TV said it "had no cable signal" about 50% of the time we tried to use it, but we don't really care for TV anyway, so that wasn't really a big deal to me. The paint in the room was chipping off the walls and doors, and several things just looked dirty. Even the little paper sign thingy on our bed had stains all over it. Not a huge deal, other than making the whole place just feel dirty. I didn't eat the breakfast, but my husband said it was fine. All in all, we just needed a place to stay for one night, and we didn't want to spend a whole lot of money and this did get the job done. So we just made a point to spend as little time IN the hotel as possible. But if I had to do it over again, I'd spend a few extra bucks to be spared the "Colorado Experience" of everything smelling like marijuana.
