Comfortable and close to airport. Great for an overnight stay”

The Premier Hotel O.R.Tambo was very comfortable and ideal for an overnight stay in Johannesburg close to the airport. We arrived around 8pm from Australia and had an morning flight out of Johannesburg the next day. The Premier Hotel provided a free shuttle bus to and from the airport that made transferring easy. The room and bed was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Total recommend the Premier Hotel O.R.Tambo.

Welcoming hotel a short distance from airport”

I booked this hotel for an overnight stay after two back-to-back 10+ hour flights based on its good reviews and proximity to O.R. Tambo airport. I was pleased with the relative ease to get here (exit the airport and walk across to the bus terminal). The airport shuttle runs every half hour from the bus terminal and takes only a few minutes to arrive at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and large, and the bed comfortable. Sound-proofing of rooms could be better, but it was quiet at my end of the hallway, so there were no issues. The hotel restaurant offers a buffet or continental breakfast, with lots of variety and at a reasonable price (155 ZAR for the buffet). There is a business centre with 4 desk-top computer, and plenty of area to lounge outside of the rooms. There is also a small pool and patio area that seemed quite popular while I was there. Someone complained in an earlier review about poor wi-fi, but I experienced no problems with it all. I would stay here again if passing through Johannesburg.

Amazing Staff”

I'm an international traveller I always use Intercontinental or other brands Last week on my wages to Mauritius the ICH in OR tambo was full so I stayed at Sandton the experience I had Was Awful awful I decided not to waste endless my money and chose Premier Inn as its close to airport I was pleasantly surprised very clean hotel Lovely laid out room Shower was Great Best Thing I experienced Such Honesty I forget my Ipad in the room when i checked out I travelled and only realised when just stated unpacking that my Ipad was forgotten WOW UNBELIEVABLE THE GUEST RELATIONS OFFICER IMMEDIATELY CONFIRMED IT WAS WITH HER I BELIEVE THAT THE STAFF WHO HANDED IT IN DESERVES A CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION AND AN AWARD AND WE WANT TO GIVE THIS PERSON A GIFT AS WELL HOPEFULLY PREMIER HOTEL WILL GROW FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

BEST MANNERED STAFF HOTEL”

This was our first ever stay over in Johannesburg. I am truly glad we stayed at the Premier Hotel O.R. Tambo. Excellent shuttle service, which we used quite a lot. Took shuttle to airport to get on Gautrain. It is a beautiful hotel, great food, friendly and very helpful staff ( the room attendants, reception, shuttle drivers, restaurant staff, every single staff member). Lovely stay for a stop over”

My adult daughter and I were in transit on our way home to Sydney. We had a day and a half at Premier OR Tambo hotel. We really enjoyed our stay, check in / check out were quick and efficient, all staff friendly and courteous. They have a gym and a lovely pool but the weather did not allow us to use the pool. However we did have a wonderful massage at the salon. A lovely hour treatment reasonably priced.

Significant improvement needed”

My daughter and I returned yet again to the Premier Hotel which has always provided a comfortable night’s sleep during our Johannesburg stopovers. The free shuttle was efficient and my online booking was processed with a smooth check-in. Our rooms were spacious and well presented. Unfortunately things went downhill early in the morning when a large group of teenage students in school uniform commuted noisily between rooms on our floor, and also on the floor below by using the lifts. It seemed that neither the school nor hotel staff took action to control the students who were disruptive to paying guests. The showers in both our rooms were cold which made a very unpleasant start to our day. My daughter wanted to use a treadmill in the gym for marathon race preparations but one was out of action and the other was made dangerous by a sticking belt. If things don’t improve at the Premier for our next visit we’ll be looking for a different hotel on future stopovers.

I was thoroughly happy with my stay at the Premier Hotel O.R. Tambo. The staff working at the hotel are both efficient and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The included breakfast is a veritable feast! I also found the free transfers to and from the airport really simple to arrange. I would not hesitate to stay there again when next I am in the area.

Perfect stay”

We’ve stayed in the Premier at least 12 times over the last 4 years. It’s a perfect hotel if you need to be in the East Rand or close to Oliver Tambo airport. The rooms are spacious, and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it for good value for money and if this is the area you need to be.

A quick overnight in Joberg....”

Premier OR Tambo was perfect for our needs. Elegant hotel, accommodating hotel staff and all the amenities made this a perfect stop on our way to Victoria Falls. Love the tub and the restaurant open late. Airport shuttle was super punctual and frequent.

Great Hotel”

I highly recommend the Premier Hotel OR Tambo. After a long trip from Australia to South Africa I was warmly received at the hotel. The check in was quick and pleasant. The hotel is stunning and the service excellent. The breakfast was lovely and staff were attentive. Look forward to checking in there again.

Great Location, Great Facilities”

We stayed at the Premier Hotel O.R Tambo for 2 split nights before and after our Kruger Safari. The location nearby to the airport is perfect, safe, and convenient. We were pleasantly impressed by the size of the room, and the pool was perfect on a hot summer day! We also enjoyed the buffet and the bar.

The premier OR Tambo hotel staff was very welcoming and helped me out with an issue with a taxi driver upon arrival. I only had time to sleep, use the gym facilities, the bar for dinner, and the restaurant for breakfast. All met or exceeded my expectations.

Great service from the staff as they were very helpful in assisting my elderly relatives. Hotel is clean, comfortable, spacious. The airport shuttle runs exactly on time. Will definitely book again at the Premier Hotel O.R Tambo.

Excellent Hotel, Mediocre Restaurant”

The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes from O.R. Tambo, with free-of-charge transfers. As in many places in Johannesburg, it is nestled in a suburban neighborhood, and there are no stores or restaurants at walking distance. The hotel is nicely decorated, and services are more than adequate, with courteous and helpful service. The low point is certainly the restaurant. Even though the buffet looks exquisite, it deceives tasteless selections, unintended cold entrees, and overall mediocre food.

Great hotel which is very convenient for OR Tambo Airport. Shuttle service from and to the airport is very convenient. Our room was very pleasant and clean. Bathroom was good. The bar was nice and we had a good breakfast ( there is a choice of full breakfast or Continental) We did not use the restaurant, but it looked good. Would definitely stay here again if arriving in or leaving Jo’burg.

Premier Or Tambo is the place to go to if you are looking for an affordable place to relax, and have some business done. The stuff from front desk to restaurant were all amazing. I will certainly go back

Amazing”

OMG...I stayed in a few hotels but this was just a winner. The rooms are big, clean, and just a pleasure to stay in. This became seriously one of my favorite hotels. The staff is friendly....welcoming drinks and a truely South African greeting. The hotel shuttle is on time at the airport, again a friendly driver that picked us up. The hotel is well maintained and the bedding was amazing...I would recommend anyone to stay in the premier hotel....worth the stay

Exceptional”

We were unfortunate to have missed our flight and thought we were going to forfeit our stay but Premier Hotel was excellent in understanding and re-accommodating us by moving our date of stay. We were so grateful and this having been our 2nd time we stayed here and being super happy we’ve decided to make this our permanent stay over hotel in Jhb. Thank you Premier Hotel!
